Gordon's stance on Batman?

In episode 2, Gordon's calls my Batman a hero. In episode 3, he says he would rather have Batman arrested, but calls a truce. My question is: will Gordon say that he wants Batman arrested despite your game choices, or will have a different stance if Dent was saved instead of Catwoman?

  • I'm curious about this too. Every playthrough I've seen has Gordon saying the same thing.

  • Pretty sure it's a bug. They didn't have what Gordon thinks of you on the previously for no reason.

  • It has to be a bug. It makes no sense that I didn't brutalize Falcone and I saved Harvey and he says I should be arrested, like what the fuck did I do now to you? Another thing in Episode 3 that bothered me was that Montoya (don't know how to write her name) apologized, I accepted her apology, then told her she was reckless and she went all agro on me as if I never accepted her apolgy. It seems like in episode 3 all the choices you became completely worthless. Harvey is just a tiny crazier just a small dose if his face is in two, while with a normal face he seems to be just stressed.

Yep, it's a bug. Found THIS in the sound files, that's probably what Telltale planned him to say if you were non-violent Batman.

  • I happens the same, I didn't break the shooter arm, didn't brutalize Falcone and saved Dent

  • I figured it was bug.

Isn't it obvious? It's part of the next big plot twist they're gearing up towards

Harvey is a red herring. It will turn out that Jim Gordon was Two-face all along!

Next time Gordon summons Bats with the signal, it'll be to peel off his face Mission Impossible style

  • To me Gordon became hostile after I interrogated Hill as Batman. I neither broke the shooter's bones, nor brutalized Falcone, but it had Gordon rambling on about how I have to stop my excessive violence and tearing people in half. Wish he had a different response if going after Hill is what triggers him, because in my playthrough, he just makes no sense.

  • I visited Hill as Bruce, I didn't brutalize Falcone, I saved Harvey...Gordon was really happy with the alliance with Batman right before the debate. Unless he's somehow mad about how that went down (like any of that was on Batman) it doesn't make sense why he's talking about a "truce." In-universe I guess he just thinks Batman handled the hostage crisis all wrong even though he did pretty amazing.

  • I also got a dialogue choice that Vicky owed me for giving up Montoya's name. I didn't do that! I didn't see the ending coming, but I still thought that was a really awful thing to do to Montoya and am upset that the game behaved as if I did.

  • It's most likely a bug. I was very surprised myself when he claimed he should have me arrested. I visited Hill as Wayne, did not brutalize the sniper in Ep.1 and lent a hand to Montoya instead of Harvey which I thought could handle himself while the tough as nail cop was on her own and I sense she's going to play a significant role later on.

Regarding the Gordon-Batman relationship it's clear that they have a lot of respect for each other but Batman working with people like Catwoman might damage that. I also strongly suspect like most people around here that he's either already aware of Bruce being Batman or is going to figure out soon enough. In fact he might just reach this conclusion in Episode 4.

I also imagined Gordon letting Catwoman's troubled past slide so as long as she was willing to help Batman and by extension Gotham. In my mind Harvey will use his relations to have Selina arrested, it's not like her side activities are difficult to uncover and that will only make Harvey's choice easier. Kill two birds with one stone and all that.
Gordon however could intervene and let her go if she helps the city. I can see him priorising doing what is right instead of blindly following orders.

  • I know I'm upset that the codex was talking about how Gordon's mad I haven't been taking it too easy on criminals lately when I'm over here worried that criminals will stop taking my threats to hurt them if they don't talk to me seriously since I never choose any of the options to hurt them. Like to the point where I've taken a few punches to avoid finishing blows.
