New Frontier: What would definitely convince you to buy/not buy?

I checked the first page of threads and didn't see anything for this, so I figured "why not make one?"

Personally, what would make me buy it is either Paige coming back and surviving the season (or just give me a well-done LGBT character) or a proper acknowledgment of Sarah. What would make me not buy it is if marginalized groups get screwed over again. That said, I'm still pretty excited for this season, and I hope I find enough reason (and cash) to get it.

  • It's The Walking Dead by Telltale Games. That's all the convincing I need.

  • To be fair, I really want to buy this one and the only thing that will force me to skip it is the technical side.

I will wait and see. If people with the minimum recommended settings, or above, start having problem to run the game, like is happening with the Batman one, I will not buy it.

  • Welp I already purchased it so here goes...

My main reasoning behind pre-ordering it so early is that TTG's TWDG literally changed my views of the world. I gained more respect for life and for others going through stress and trauma.

I have no doubt I'll get the same emotions and feelings out of ANF as I did the previous two seasons.

  • Well, my love for the previous seasons and Telltale's other games was enough for me. Plus, from what we have seen, it looks awesome!

The only thing that would convince me not to buy would be if Telltale said "Hey, sorry guys but we've decided to only make one episode in this season, and the price will be $124, enjoy!"

Actually... I'd still probably buy it... I don't know what could make me not want it.

  • "The Walking Dead Season 3 has been confirmed"

    I'm sold.

  • Well if it somehow got out that the game sends a signal to your skull and blows your brains out...I may have to pass on the game. Definitely a deal breaker.

  • I don't need much convincing

If I hear that it has the technical difficulties that Batman has then I'm not getting it.

  • I was already convinced when they said season 3 is confirmed. Becasue I super liked both season's and I need to know the story.

  • I preordered it cause I'm obsessed, I don't need convinced. I would normally be against preordering but even if it was awful in the eyes of pretty much everyone, I'd still buy it regardless just to see how it is.

  • Indications that the game series isn't losing everything that made it special in favor of pandering to what's popular.

  • Deal Seller: Improved Character Development and Backstory, Mentioning of Lily and/or Christa [Or their appearance], More defined Clementine personality.

Deal Breaker: A Cluster-Fuck Story with minimal Decision Impact, Bland characters, and too many Plotholes...I'll watch a Video on the 1st Episode, see if I like where it's going.

  • I pre-ordered ASAP. Previous installments of the series were enough to convince me.

But if I have to name specific selling point, then I liked the fact that Clementine wasn't the only playable character. I enjoyed Season 1 and Michonne more than I enjoyed Season 2. Season 2 isn't all bad and it had plenty of good moments, but I just didn't enjoy playing as Clem as much as I enjoyed playing as an adult character. I hope that Javier turns out to be as enjoyable character as Lee.

Sorry but im not getting any of these?

Paige was fairly plain, I dont get how lgbt character are more important (also havnt we had several already?). Also what acknowledgment of sarah? Shes dead and hardly one of the more important people to clementine that is dead.

Quite a few people took to Paige despite her small role in the Michonne DLC and want to see more from her and the Fairbanks. And fair representation of various diversities is something people really appreciated about Season 1, so those aren't too much of a surprise.

As for Sarah, I think he means something along the lines of an Author's Saving Throw. Plus, let's be honest here: Sarah was one of the few Season 2 characters who wasn't an asshole or who wanted to use Clementine for her own unsavory purposes and just seemed to like her for who she was. So while she might not be the most important character lorewise, something along the lines Clementine looking back on her somewhat fondly at one point isn't too out of the question.

  • Honestly...the series has built up a lot of good will with me...even though season two was not as good as season one or Michonne imo....that is relative to the series and puts it well above a lot of other games I have played....plus...Clementine.
