What If Telltale released The Walking Dead Season 1 + 2: Extended Cut?

That would include all the deleted scenes and concepts they had before scraping them off in the final version.
I would really like for it to exist and see what they had in mind before the final release.

Have you ever considered applying for marketing manager at Telltale Games? ;)

  • They have a marketing team?

Dunno, but something like this is a no-brainer. Adds value to the gaming experience and it would sell massively.

    They have a marketing team?

  • This makes me laugh but sad at the same moment.

  • I guess you don't understand what I mean by deleted stuff?
Im talking about models and cut scenes that were planned to be in the game but got cut off and replaced by different ones.

  • As selfish as it sounds, I would like to see a more refined Season 2 story in the Extended Version.

The Cabin Group is granted the main focus of the story and are not solely used to add to the deaths tally, we see more of the conflict between Carver and the Cabin Group where it's less black and white, and Clementine has her own story arc as opposed to being a mere spectator to others.

    A man can dream, though.

  • Same.

  • Sounds cool.

Although I have to add, the marketing team doesn't do a bad job with what it's given. They don't control what we get when, they're mostly responsible for dressing it up nicely. And when they do post something, everyone gets hyped good and proper, which in turn means they're doing a good job.

  • If you mean a re-release with the cut segments playable, as cool as that would be, it isn't that plausible, especially not now, years after release. The thing about cut content, is that it's usually cut for a reason. There's a reason why games don't get deleted scenes as often as a movie or a show does. It might look or sound cool on paper, but chances are, it'll be an unfinished, buggy mess if you tried to play it for yourself. Now if they released some kind of developer video/documentary, where they showed off unused sequences, models, and animations, and talked about certain unused concepts, and why they ultimately didn't make it into the game, that would be pretty fucking cool. But I can't see any of the cut segments of the game being in a stable enough state to be playable. Besides, this would all depend on if they still have the old assets archived somewhere. Over time, older content tends to get lost. There's probably some cool, unseen stuff still floating around on someone's computer, or on some server, but it'd probably take quite a bit of time and effort to track them down, let alone restore the files and get everything back in working order.

  • 10/10 would buy.

  • This is sadly probably going to be very unlikely, although it would be nice if they just added new scenes that actually developed the characters - more so for Season Two. Those time-skips hide potential behind them.

  • I would buy the shit out of a Telltale game that has some form of Developer Commentary.
