So are they or not?
I know if they do appear that the focus won't be on them but are Jane/Kenny going to at least appear in this game?? I was hoping then trailer would at least show a screenshot of either them. Telltale promised at the time that our ending season 2 choices would matter

I mean Clem pretty much confirmed they are dead in the present time i guess
They're dead. We meet Clem after the time skip. We play as Javier from the beginning. Our choices effect if Clem is missing a finger or not. Did you really expect our endings to matter? Telltale have a story to tell and they've no interest in us interfering with it.
I think when they say that something will matter they shouldn't turn around and not keep their word. I expect Jane/Kenny to be dead but if they are only mentioned dead through dialogue then it's just lazy and a big fuck you to fans as far as I'm concerned. I would like closure on these characters instead of an offscreen death if that is what road they go down
True. Also, I don't get how two episodes released in the same day is a story tailored to our choices. Didn't they usually have a couple of months between episodes to collect choice data and then tailor the next episode to the majority of choices made in the previous? Basically they have something in mind for episode 1 and 2 and don't want to give people the chance to pick choices that would force them to reconsider.
How so? We have no idea what the imported save game is, for them. They might just have chosen the "Clem kills both" or "Clem leaves one" or "Clem stayed at Wellington" ending as the default ending so new players don't have to try and build a relationship for Jane and Kenny from the start.
We haven't seen anything to officially confirm anything yet.
"Same thing that happens to everyone" doesn't necessarily mean 'dead', but I think it's mostly 'gone' in a general sense. Knowing TTG however, and how they handle determinants, they probably are dead.
No idea. I don't want to be negative but already the way i am feeling about this game is that it's not going to be very good in terms of what i want out of the game
Clem says at the end of the trailer "the same thing that happens to everyone" when Javier asks about the people who were with her. It is possible that she was referring to Lee and others she had travelled with but the closer this game gets, the more i am losing faith. As i said, i can accept their deaths but i want proper closure and not a lazy offscreen death
Knowing how TTG only carry across choices that effect dialogue, and the fact we play as Javier and meet Clem after the time skip, they're 100% dead and it doesn't really matter what we chose.
Yes, but how do we know that this line isn't dependent on our previous choice or even chosen directly by us? We have no context for the scene and don't even know if we're playing as Clementine or Javier at that point.
It could even just be a trailer stand in given that it's the exact same line that she can say to Luke in episode 1 of season 2.
Because Job said we meet Clementine AFTER the time skip and we play as Javier from the very start. TTG prefer carrying over dialogue choices that don't really effect the game than actual choices like Kenny or Jane.
Yes, I am aware of Telltale's track record when it comes to "your choices matter" but we still don't actually know if this is the case, it's an assumption.
But based on previous TTG we can safely assume it's 98% going to happen and 2% assumption
I'm not going to assume anything just yet.
Well, I'm optimistic, mostly since we don't know that yet, but I think the choices may determine her appearance and attitude as well? At least I hope they stuck to their word that Clementine's personality would at least differ based on the Season Two endings.
Thing is that the same thing doesn't happen to everyone she meets - AJ is alive, at least possibly determinantly, Christa, Molly and Lilly are in the unknown status, as is determinantly Bonnie, along with Mike and Arvo. "The same thing that happens to everyone" is likely just Clementine saying that everyone ends up leaving one way or another.
Nice optimism! I'm in the same boat! xD
Well, everyone else is either dead, alive or zombified but there's one thing everyone form her group seems to be - which is 'gone', it feels like everyone ends up leaving Clementine one way or another.
TBH, I don't care anymore. All I want is a great story and new moments with Clementine
I guess you'll find out when you play it like everyone else. Personally I don't really care. If we get flashbacks with them that'll be an added bonus, but my focus currently is getting to know Javy's character.
Yes but i dont care after that trailer
I think we will see Kenny and Jane...but it may not be in the first few episodes.
As i said, all i want is closure or an onscreen death of the characters. I just think its an insult if they only mention them dead through dialogue
They are dead in Javier's future perspective.
They are probably alive in Clementine's segments.
ft tyre?
I don't want Kenny to be dead. At all. But if that's his fate i at least want the character to be given some respect and at least see him go out.
The translation is future.
Yes!!
Just a shame that really all the characters where scraped in s2, especially Kenny, he could have kept going especially if you leave with him.
Speaking of which, if he is gone i hope Clem has something of his. Most would would think the hat but i'd honestly prefer if she took his necklace.
My best guess is whomever you stayed with is dead and the flashbacks are to show what happened to them and also to Clementine and A.J. in the aftermath of their death.
I got the Jane ending, and I'm hoping she died ingloriously off-screen. But then again, this is TWD, it's pointless to get attached or care for anyone since they could die 5 minutes after you meet them.
She's already got a hat, if its anything it will be the necklace. Or maybe his gun if he still has one?
They can be dead, but I want to at least know what happened to them, see them in a flashback or something like that, Kenny/Jane deserve at least this after being TellTale's biggest discussion issue since season 2
But she doesn't actually know all the people she has encountered are dead... I know what she means but it sounds more like a dialogue crafted from hopelessness.
Watch, not even ten minutes into the game and they're probably gonna end up like Christa, unfortunately.
The trailer probably has the ending in which one Clem was alone in S2, that's why she also has a missing finger.
