Cannon choices?
So here is something that has bothered me for 2 days...
So you know how Robert Kirkmen, I'm pretty sure that's how you spell his name, said that "The games are very much in the same universe of the comics." Pretty sure that's how he said it. Something I want to know, what are the cannon choices? Choices that affect stuff... like Carley or Doug, Kenny or Jade, cut lee's arm or naw, drop Ben or pick him up, stuff like that, choices that affect more that just character dialog. Also... also...
people have been speculating that because of a bat covered in barbed wire was an emoji in some telltales tweets, there might be Negan in season 3... so how would that affect the comic universe, would characters in the game be in the comics? If the comics had events from this, Robert would have to choose cannon choices. So if an admin or whatever sees this, could you please ask telltale and make a list of the choices and bring it on over here? Thanks!

Not sure if there are any "canon" choices, since all choices end up not really affecting the ending. The only thing they affect is dialogue (sometimes).
Also, due to the very fact that they're in the same universe as you mentioned, it's physically impossible for Negan to be in season 3. Sorry to burst your bubble.
Sorry about the way it came out, Unless it just shows on my screen, but it makes each paragraph just one line going of the screen, and I have to scroll all the way to the right to see it.
Wooo, I can scroll all the way out to the right
Every choice is canon, because every player has their own canon unique to them.
Cannon choices?
Well, there was that scene in episode 4 when walkers were attacking the deck...
Oh fuck yeah, I'm picking Jade!
This is an interesting topic though. Might consider starting a serious discussion here.
well i see clem shooting lee at the end canon.
I always thought of the option to save Carley as the cannon one, and Doug as the secondary option just to make replaying the game interesting (no offense to Doug fans)
But Carley: - Is in the image of Ep 1
Not to mention she later becomes a "romance" option, the only character that supports Lee as the leader of the group, her interactions with the group are a much more active, and she has a lot of content in Ep 3.
While Doug... gets one small scene in EP 1, talks about his laser point, eats half the food that Brenda gives you, and in Ep 3 he only feels useless and to get rid of him they made him save Ben's life.
Yeah there is no possible way Negan will be in season 3. Negan is in a prison in Alexandria at the time season 3 takes place.
Wasn't she "Jane"?
Nevermind, I got the joke.
Technically, when we play as Clem ,we change the Walking Dead universe infinite of ways. We are somewhat creating alternate timelines in a sense, if the Walking Dead universe believed in the butterfly effect.
Was that really a choice though? Didn't we have to do it in order to break the deck as planned?
Mutha fucka... I thought it was Jade for a LOOOOOOOOONG time alright, then I is get season 2 for myself and turned on subtitles, I'm gonna put a nerf gun to my head...jhfxjrt31&02&:)gv79,so.80.amsi91
Yup
Oh no I noticed this too...
Carley has a gun and saves you when ben's teacher/class mate turns
She lets you tell people about your past so in episode 3 they don't get mad at you
And that's about all I've noticed for Carley,
For Doug we got
UNIVERSAL REMOTE HACKING STUFF!!!
That's it
But Jesus...
Y u do dis?
So I feel now as if I already know the answer, the choices most players choose, is probably cannon choices... SO IT HAS MORE PURPOSE THAN TO GUILT YOU!!!
Cannon choices are any variation of Clementine alone at the end of season 2
Nick dying in Episode 2 of season 2.
Being nice to Rebecca in Episode 1 of season 2.
Gonna go ahead and repost this here. Sorry for the bump.
Basically, "canon" in these games means what are the choices and events with the widest area of effect, or at least that's the best way I can describe it. If someone can survive a situation that determinately kills them, that's canon as far as I'm concerned; interestingly enough, Season 1 has the greatest variation because of this. Here's my basic list:
I think there should be a cannon playthrough. When the game talks about setting up what the past was, you can either choose what it was or do a randomized playthrough.
Why not just have a choice to pick the majority decisions? The fans picked Carlie over Doug more often, that's canon. If the fans decided Lee chopped his arm off, so that's canon too.
I think it would be really interesting to have a playthrough of every majority choice that was made in the game.
