I don't think I'd want to play as her again, anyway. Telltale did a pretty poor job with the whole "play as a little girl" thing in Season 2, and at this point, I think they lost their shot to do it right. They should just stick to a stronger adult protagonist if that's all they can do.
I guess people are just upset that we won't be spending the entire time with Clemmy, but is that really a bad thing? We've had enough time with her after all.
Well, technically I said "looks like," but whatever. As I just said up above: Its not really that far-fetched a conclusion, since the Last o… moref Us was a very acclaimed game in its release, Ellie is arguably just as popular as Clementine if the fan material is any indication, and this upcoming installment of the Walking Dead seems to be going for a more realistic artstyle, a darker tone, and has a visibly aged-up(ironically looking older than Ellie and Sarah) Clementine traveling alongside an older guy on a trek to find some group. Compounding the issue is the fact that they've shown us relatively little things about the game itself(speaking as someone who only hears about it through side comments in threads like these), so from what there is to go on, the Last of Us: Walking Dead Edition is an easy joke to make.
I used to think that the Telltale forums would be a great opportunity for fans to give feedback and influence the way that Telltale makes their episodes.

Don't hate the fella, but it is rather upsetting Javier will be our protagonist more so than Clementine from what I've heard. When the game comes out we can really start to judge.
No no don't you see? If you changed little things like his race, heritage, clothes, personality and aged him up by about 30 years you can clearly see that he's a rip off of Joel!

Well I think there is some "situational similarity" existing between those characters of different game universes yet still alike in genre and atmosphere. Like with the whole protective adoptive father/daughter being a plot element utilized in both games. Also I believe the Walking Dead (first game) was released about a year before Last Of Us. So I can see how Joel could possibly be a Lee ripoff with a few tweaks in character but not an actual confirmation of being the case. Could of been coincidence since they were released not very far apart and the ideas for Last Of Us could of been in development before Walking Dead from telltale.

Right! simply because the character Javier doesn't interest me even half as much as Clementine does as of yet, does not mean I outright hate that character right off the Lucille bat. Now characters I strongly disliked from the past might of been Carver, Jane, and Larry. But I've had time to analyze their character's and determine my judgement of liking them or not. IF anything I would say it is just highly annoying that Javier is taking the majority of Clementine's playability when nothing is known at all about him. Maybe at least with Luke or Mike they were known beforehand so now it's just a roll of the dice and I can tell already that Javier might not be as great as Lee but hopefully he'll be almost likeable as Luke or Mike at the least.
I don't get why this whole forum thinks everyone hates Javier. Ya'll need to stop being dramatic. A majority don't have a problem or feel … moreindifferent about him. Probably 5% of the forum actually hates him and half of those people are just trolling. Cant stand people preaching about how this fanbase is terrible because "so may people hate Javier." Again, stop being dramatic.
I don't. I love Clem and don't want her to die but i'm also open to change. Can't judge a character just because you don't know them yet and there was a time when no one knew Clem either. He deserves a chance and people need to play the game first before judging him.
I agree with you. I think a lot of people expect to play as Clementine until she's a grandmother. I love Clem and I like watching her grown up, much like Carl on the show, but as for playing a game, I am excited to see them experimenting a little bit and trying new things. I don't want a repeat of season 1 and season 2. It would get tiresome.

If this board had a following prior to the release of Season 1 and they released a trailer showing short clips of a little goody two-shoes little girl named Clementine can you imagine how much hate and overeacting she would have gotten.
Those who are jumping to conclusions about Javier based off of about two minutes of footage we have gotten need to chill out. He very well may turn into a fan favorite just like the goody two-shoes little girl from season 1 did.
I don't think that's it at all, I think people just like a measure of closure before you move on to someone else's story. All of season 2s endings were iffy, at best. I have no problem with telling another story in the universe, but when they wanted to do that with the show they didn't make a new family the central story and keep Rick and company along as supporting cast. They did a spinoff.

It's become so much more tiresome than the actual hate Javier received. Ironically the fanbase bashing is occurring more and much longer than the actual irrational criticisms of Javier that did happen. But then again, I noticed a greater lack of tolerance towards any negative criticism of the game for the recent last half of the year.

I don't hate him, in fact, i think his background story is interesting.
I can see why people would hate him. A lot of people think he might steal the game time off Clementine and the talk about Clementine only being in flashbacks. If that's true and the new season is based around Javier, then he will get a lot of backlash.

"He's just confused."
~Famous Last Words
You've seen her eyes
I don't dislike him personally but maybe people do because it's like he's replacing lee in a way, idk..
Yes, I have seen them.
Just like Luke, Kenny, and Jane, right?
touche

Really? You suppose? Jesus, he was kidding.
looking like someone =/= being a ripoff

You just cut me off, dude. I was just about to make a shnark about it.
True, i was confused that they didn't have clementine as the main protagonist it hurt me a little but i love TWD series.
I think she's her mother.

Welcome to the internet.
IT WAS A SEMI-SERIOUS JOKE!

And I was playing along. Exchange one (drawn out) joke for another.
I'm not the one who made that pic, so clearly it isn't a random thought.
Besides, I didn't say he is one, but that he has been shown to look like one.
Thank you!
You mean his?
Did you just assume Javier gender?
Yeah well I would say It's usually beneficial to approach with an open mind .

Did you assume his gender is female?
Comment Of The Year.
You don't even know his grandma.
You assumed Javier was a she though, correct term for Javier is they
I don't want to know her

Took a closer look at that gif and it became that much funnier.
