Why would Sherry Want to Take Over Alexandria?

And why is Tara on her side?
Isn't Tara Rick's ally(not really sure, coz i only watched the TV Series on this part)?

  • This is a different Tara!

    They are not counterparts.

  • Woah, since when is Tara a demon in the comics? xD

  • Because the Saviors are mostly dumb assholes. Plot wise, the only good thing that could come out of this story arc is more development for Dwight, who's the only guy keeping the whole comic afloat at the moment.

  • Savior Tara in the show is named Arat (Tara backwards) to avoid confusion with "our" Tara Chambler. Same reason why they named Jesus Paul "Rovia" instead of "Monroe".

  • Holy shit.

    Mind-blown.

Tara from the comic series is Arat in the show?

  • Because Sherry is a fucking bitch, lol.

When Rick asked for your help, literally all you had to do was tell him no. Which is a pretty idiotic move given the circumstances. The Whisperers kinda-sorta have it out for every person that isn't them in the entire area.

But she's willing to be even shittier by taking it a step further and vowing to "take over what's left of the ruins". Yeah, cause you know you can't take the other factions on while they're alert and not at war. You know damn well without Negan or them being distracted by The Whisperers that you couldn't do it. It was a chicken shit move at a REALLY shitty time.

I hope a pack of Whisperers find her and gut her like the traitor salmon she is.

  • Yep! Exactly. They just named her backwards to avoid confusion, but she's the same character.

  • Because she's a scheming, social ladder climbing bitch of the worst kind. Even Negan knew she was trouble but she's presented to us as a victim and a prisoner so nobody caught on until now I guess.

  • To hell with her and her queen-bee-in-high-school-havin'-ass.

  • Yeah, pretty sure she has no idea what she is doing either. Rick not trusting them is gonna save the day again.

  • The fuck is she even gonna do if she succeeds?

The savior's source of survival income was taking shit from other groups.
When there's no other groups, what now?
    Yeah, you're gonna starve.

This being the case, I hope someone there knows how to garden.

And that giant horde in Alexandria post Whisperer-War? Fucking good luck to her.

Yeah, pretty sure she has no idea what she is doing either. Rick not trusting them is gonna save the day again.

  • I know right? She is basically planning for the Saviors to go back to how things were with Negan in charge, except she is no Negan and all of the other communities are now in an alliance with one another. She is playing a selfish and shortsighted game in the midst of all this seriousness and it disgusts me.

  • Feelings of agreement...too...intense...

I know right? She is basically planning for the Saviors to go back to how things were with Negan in charge, except she is no Negan and all

  • In all of this, I'm still wondering who put Sherry and her two idiot companions in charge and why anybody would follow them in their decisions.

  • If you think about it, the Saviors wanting to take over somewhat makes sense. You have a group of people who were misfits: people who are just non productive, unemployed, menace to society, and thieves. Why at the end of the world would they want to have a job, follow structure, and have a job.

Or perhaps, maybe the way the economy that the trade system within the communities isn't in their favor. Oceanside can trade fish, Alexandria bullets, Kingdom farming, and Hilltop blacksmith. Their isn't anything I can think of that the Saviors have to trade they don't really provide any contribution. They in a economical sense the Saviors are in a depression. They have no goods to circulate their economy.

  • Those aren't bad as reasons, but it still makes the Saviors dumb. Let's say they "take over", then what? Without other communities sustaining them, the Saviors are worthless, and if Sherry really believes that four (alright maybe three since Hilltop is gone) communities will bow to the Saviors again, she's really out of her mind.

  • It has been mentioned that there are other smaller settlements in the trading network other than the main five. She might expect them to bow to the Saviors after all other major trading partners are gone.

  • Kirkman likely forgot about those communities, or they've all merged to form Oceanside.

  • I would be dissapointed if this were the case
