How do you know either was ever written to have the part of Javier's?
Anyway, I won't be mad that they died if it's handled properly. My hope is that if they are dead, that it's not just happened off-screen and mentioned.

Because they are both dead for some people. It would make no sense for either of them to appear because if someone who has them both dead saw them, that would mean their choices would not have mattered. They can't include determinant stuff because not everyone has it. If someone has either of them alive, I'm sure they will be in the game, but they just cannot be shown in the trailers because not everyone has them alive.
I don't know why people are so mad and/or surprised that Kenny and Jane haven't been revealed yet.
Since their determinant status at the end of Season 2, any person with the slightest depth of how TellTale work acknowledged that both of them were as good as dead after S2E5 anyway. Any faith placed on their survival was entirely dependent on TellTale trying something different, which was marginal in itself.
We've had two years of mourning and speculation on the subject. If they live, great. But I won't get disappointed if they're dead - we've had years of that. The writing's been on the wall for a while now.
In direct answer to your question, the only way in which Javier 'replaced' Kenny/Jane was in being Clementine's closest accomplice, and considering we've been with her for three games shouldn't we as, a player through Javier, be resigned to being by her side throughout the rest of the series? Also the reason why we're playing as Javier as opposed to Kenny or Jane is because these characters have a set personality, and any actions we take as a player could contradict or limit their actions in game. Javier is a blank slate and is effectively allowed to act in a similar way that Lee did in S1.
Because you could easily replace Clem with either of them, from what we've seen so far lol. Javiers only taking over as the main character, not replacing a supporting character.
So are we going to be going through another "Is Kenny / Christa still alive" thing we went through before Kenny reappeared in Season 2 at the Ski Lodge?

As far as we know, Clem and Javier might not even be friends.
They might be allies because they need each other for something, but that doesn't mean Clem cares for Javier, neither Javier for Clem.
Well, given that there are many different endnings it makes sense from a marketing point of view not to reveal either's part prematurely. Most likely the "trailer storyline" is one where either weren't with Clementine at the ending of season 2.
No, but seriously, Javier is playable; Kenny and Jane never were. And I'm not gonna hate a character(nix Jane) because I think they're replacing someone.
You mean just like in the trailer of Batman they show Harvey with half his face burned but I never choose that option?
Or like they showed in EP 4 the kiss between Selina and Bruce even though there were people that didn't romance her?
Jane and Kenny weren't in the trailer because they are dead in the option the choose to show, that is the alone ending.

I disagree his whining every time I went against him and his story felt like a rehash except this time with a gf with as much personality as a piece of wood.
That's how Kenny is, don't blame him for taking the spotlight, blame the writing. Kenny could've still had his arc and the other characters could've been well developed it the writing had been better.

I'm still hoping that the legend that is Kenny would be making an appearance. Hopefully those that saved Jane will also get to see her again as she was easily 2nd best character in season 2 for me. It's a damn shame both couldn't survive. Hopefully there will be other good characters to take over though.

Well you don't have to worry about him anymore in your story I guess, but I hope you understand that I'd love to have him in mine, that's what the endings were supposed to be for.

If they did show these 2, we would probably have more people arguing over the final choice depending on when and what they're doing in the trailer. Easier to just show people nothing till the game comes out.
Killing all the good characters too quickly can be a problem. If the new ones aren't up to it then they will be compared to old ones and loads of people will point it out. I'm a fan of Clementine (though not a fanatic) but I have to admit that her outliving almost every character from both season 1 and 2 is just her being protected by plot armor.

Because screw Kenny he ruined s2 for me.
Jane and Kenny haven't appeared at all in both trailers for S3
They might give us a surprise. Stop complaining.
So did Jane. Forget both of them

I hope not. I don't want any returning characters other than Kenny or Jane if TellTale can actually pull it off.

because he seems a better character than both kenny and jane
Because he didn't?
What. He was the only salvageable thing out of it to me. He MADE S2.
No, Christa made S2.
If Christa wasn't there no one would have bought it.

because i'm not petty. if anything javiar is replacing lee.
Same.
lies! everyone bought the game because of sarah, the peroxide queen.
Because they were terrible people.

*why arnt people pissed Javier is replacing Lee is the more exact question, Kenny nor Jane where playable
I heard Kenny so I'm not mad'
Nobody can replace Lee.
Because that's not what he's doing.
I believe I heard Kenny in the new trailer at 0:12.
So glad someone else heard him!
because it's just a game.
I believe Kenny/Jane is the leader of The New Frontier
You mean just like in the trailer of Batman they show Harvey with half his face burned but I never choose that option?

That's because we still didn't have a character urban enough.

Eh he still annoys me tbh
Well you don't have to worry about him anymore in your story I guess, but I hope you understand that I'd love to have him in mine, that's what the endings were supposed to be for.
Me too.
It's a damn shame 10% of the characters couldn't survive.

Ditto. If I never see his dumb face again, I'll be perfectly happy.
