Why is Javier never with his family?
Why does he hate them so much? Please call your family mijo, your poor abuela is worried sick about you.

Wait 8 days to find out.
Don't he hates them but being a professional baseball player probably takes up the vast majority of his time. Probably even lives in a different city.
It be kind of neat if the look extended teaser from the Game Awards he may have taken a plane to wherever his family was than drove through the traffic, and turns out that airport is what we see in the trailer.
That's what I am afraid of, I don't want to play with an hypocrite party boy.
David says "The one time that you needed to be here". I understand it as a "You never visit, you never call"
Doesn't seem like a party boy, really. Seems more like his reason is that he decided to pursue his career (professional baseball), and ended up neglecting his family in the process.
When his dad's on his death bed, he tries to make it back home, but unfortunately he's too late, which his family understandably holds against him
We don't know that, as far as we can tell he could have been sleeping with some ho's and he forgot about his father.
I mean, your brother won't hit you just because you arrived late, there has to be more.
This thread is very athletic...it is amazing at jumping to conclusions.
Because drama.
maybe they are in france
For some reason my thoughts during the trailer was that the reason Javier was so late to arrive home was because it was the beginning of the apocalypse and the traffic was probably bad because of all the breakouts (maybe no one knew what was happening at the time except tons of casualties so a lot of places were sectioned off or there were too many cars).
I probably thought too into it though.
I think he plays baseball professionally and it can be pretty difficult to spend time with your family when you have a job that requires you to travel a lot.
Grandma? Yes, you're right.
? Yeah....
