I do think it had stolen a little bit of it's thunder, yeah (at least, marketing thunder). I'm talking about in general, because obviously the Last of Us has less of an impact here on the telltale forums, but in the broad scope of gamers I definitely think the hype for the Last of Us has overshadowed the hype for The Walking Dead - it's just a bigger game.
That said, I don't think it will matter in a few weeks. People are going to be playing The Walking Dead much sooner during the holiday season, and if it's good, then that's when telltale's word of mouth marketing well excel. By the time the first episode comes out the hype for The Last of Us will have already lost some steam because it's not set to release until far into the futureand there's not much new to discuss.
Jokes aside I do thiink it'd be a mistake to completely quit TTG, they make such amazing stories. But you're free to do what you want.
I'm sorry, but I just can't do it anymore.
First there was MC SM, which seemed too...kid-friendly to me. It just bored me after 3 episodes. Then there was TWD: Michonne, which wasn't horrible, but it just didn't seem like anything special to me. And finally there came Batman. Which, to me, seemed like a poorly-made Telltale mod more than it seemed like a game. I liked the first three episodes of it, but after 4, I just got tired of it and stopped.
Well, uh... YOUR MOTHER!

Definitely true. After everyone has watched the Last of Us trailer a hundred times over and start getting bored with it they will realize no more news will likely come out for about another year and will begin to pay attention to other things.

I don't like her, I used to be neutral and feel bad about her until she got Carley killed. But I think she is such a well-written character. HOWEVER I don't want to see her anywhere anymore in the next season. Why ask though?

I enjoy The Last of Us and I'm excited to see the story continue, but it just gets so depressing...
I heard before the game wouldn't even be coming out until 2018 or so, is that right?

I thought both had the same excitement because we all love both of our apocalypse children XD All i see over the internet are these two badasses now haha
It all boils down to the character you're playing as I guess, and at TWDG at times left things more open for some nice moments that could be pleasant or funny. So The Last of Us was depressing more frequently is what I mean.
That's no good reason to hate her character. Her being popular isn't the fault of the character.
If that's the case then Clementine is a bitch for stealing the spotlight of lesser known games.
You know, I've felt that way in the past about other games and stuff, too. And this game too, obviously.
Honestly, I've found it best to just accept the fact that some things will be more popular than others. I try to swallow my pride and not get all annoyed about it. I can't lie though, it gets a bit hard at times. Sometimes, it makes me feel like I've bet on the wrong horse, you know? Like I made a mistake of getting invested in this series when I should have gotten invested in that series. But honestly, that thought process doesn't help anything, so I just tell it to fuck off and try to think positive.
Try to change your perspective to something more positive, or at the very least, something that makes it an easier pill to swallow; for example, think about it this way-- if you feel something is more popular than something you like, remember that eventually, there will be something even more popular that comes along and takes the spotlight. The world is just a game of things one-upping each other. Trying to make the bigger bang.
Or find solace in the fact that TWD, the dinky little point-and-click adventure game, can actually go toe to toe with a juggernaut like TLoU in the first place. That the two of them can actually be held in similar esteem by people.
Or beyond that, try to think of a simple fact-- both sides of the fence are happy. You're happy with what you got, the guys that like the more popular thing are happy with what they got. At the end of the day, you're both enjoying something you like. And isn't that what really matters in the end? No need to get pissed at one another, right?
My point being, you gotta find your own way to cope with things like this. Holding a grudge or trying to turn it into an enemy just isn't worth it. Not the easiest lesson to learn, but it definitely helps in the long run.
I have to agree that i am more excited for The Last Of Us Part 2 than TWD Season 3. That is simply because of the let down season 2 was and that i sadly expect more of the same from Telltale. Every other game i have played from them after TWD S1 just haven't been anywhere near as good. I still enjoyed TWD S2, TWAU, GOT and TFTBL, but nowhere near as good as TWD S1.
For me The Last Of Us is on another level. Sorry guys! The way that game made me feel was like no other. Definitely on par with how I felt about Season 1

Personally speaking, yeah I'm more interested in Ellie's story than Clementine's at the moment considering I find Clementine in her current form to be relatively boring and lame.
Telltale TWD has kind of turned into a shell of its former self ever since S2 premiered and I'm hoping TLOU 2 won't follow down that same path though it seems Neil, Bruce, and others at ND are fully aware of the amount of pressure and skepticism that's on them and they have a long time to plan things out beforehand so there's a chance it might live up to the hype.
I do not want her back either, frankly.
Why ask though?

Fuck TLOU
but their trailer was nice
and the "daddy" is still alive (not like you, Lee, you fucked up)
BUT NONE OF THOSE THINGS MATERS!
they don't have dialog choices
they suck

Um, have you ever played The Last of Us Left Behind? How would that make it better?
they suck
I don't think you know a lot about Naughty Dog. They always know how to make their games successful.

No I don't.
I'm not too concerned about any 'stolen thunder.' Once the first episodes are released, I imagine TWD will be moving past it.
That being said, I must be one of the few people that wished TLOU II wasn't a thing that was happening. It was a nice trailer, but I really wish this wasn't happening.
Don't mistake me, I loved the original. Maybe side by side as games even more than TWD. But one of the reasons I loved it was because the characters not only actually survived the story, but had evident and clear development that wasn't motivated around immediate death. And I absolutely adored the ending, which I heard described as a 'non-ending' pretty well - while it wasn't flashy and didn't provide perfect closure, it gave the feeling that Joel and Ellie's stories were told and were going on to live the rest of their lives. It was an awesome story with a well timed and paced conclusion that seemed rare to me as far as games go. Now I'm calling it that the second game will undo it all.
I've heard the comparison from the developers that while the first 'part' was about love, the second part will be about hate (or something) - as if this isn't a theme that's been explored to death in recent fiction anyway. I suppose I had too much faith in Naughty Dog actually letting well enough rest.
So oh well, let's see all this development become undone and watch Joel die I guess.

But thanks for understanding.
In all honesty Raven you should probably be glad she is as popular as she is. More people likely pay attention to gaming now because of her.

I liked both of your comments, for some reason.
Oh thanks
Do you, uh—have any thoughts about Lilly?
Ye, can relate! Although I don't have a ps4 I'm more excited to learn about ellie's and joel's story than clementine's

I mean, this TWDTTGS.
Naughty Dogs has nothing on TWDTTGS for depressing stories.

Eh, they are both pointy, blade-y things that can be jammed into people, violently. Close enough, right?
Agh, whataver, you win or whatever you want. This conversation is pointless.
WHOOPS my bad I read it wrong. My bad my bad my bad.
Still though, don't be upset just because it's taking some attention, heh.

In all honesty, the announcement for The Last of Us 2 made me more excited for TWD Season 3.
The upcoming Season 3 and the announcement of The Last of Us 2 reignited my interest in Post-apocalyptic zombie genre again.
No. Like a pop gun, a shiv is an improvised tool that lacks durability.
It is not comparable to a real knife anymore than a pop gun is comparable to a real gun.
She scares the crap outta me.
That's a reasonable thing to feel.
