As much as I hate to say it, I don't think we're going to see another episode the length of S1 episodes again. Telltale's changed their MO a bit since S1. Which isn't necessarily bad, but it does result in shorter overall lengths.
And that's why i feel the games after S1 just haven't been anywhere near as good. It's not worth the money for short episodes when they feel rushed and short gameplay as well. Last season was virtually watching each episode and choosing dialogue.

That's what they think people liked the most in Season 1 - more than hubs or puzzles - so they deliberate worked to make their games feel more like interactive TV and less like role playing afterwards.

Well for some people that may have been true but i don't think that applies to everyone lol. The hubs, puzzles, gameplay and optional side quests along with being able to talk to different characters and finding out more of their background etc is what made season 1 just beautiful in my opinion.

As a guy that has wasted an embarrassing amount money on a lot of really stupid shit that wasn't worth it in the past, Telltale's games don't fall into that category for me
$5 for a story around the length of an average movie is pretty sensible, if you ask me. With that same $5, I could have bought some broken piece of shit that doesn't work. Or spent it on a virtual cosmetic in a game. Or a really shitty fast food sandwich. Hell, I could have bought a bunch of copies of Bad Rats off of Steam. I dunno, I just think there's so many worse options out there.
Last season was virtually watching each episode and choosing dialogue.
Me, being the weird dude I am, actually don't mind this at all. If anything, I actually like the whole 'interactive TV' direction they've taken. Would I enjoy more games like S1? I mean yeah, sure, but I'll totally settle for what they're doing now.

I'm okay with their new way of tackling things, too. While I am sad that many of the hubs and occasional puzzles have been taken out of their formula, I feel like it benefited it for me (a bit). Sometimes I feel like the hubs were too big and long for a certain task (eg: Episode 4's Crawford school puzzles). So, I believe that Telltale just needs to bring back a few more hubs, but make them a bit shorter than S1's. They just need a good balance of exploration (hubs) and interactive plot development (story sections). Recently, I feel like they nailed Michonne's gameplay with a good balance throughout all episodes.

The way I think of it, the hubs are a means to an end. You don't technically need them. They could do their series without them entirely... as long as they compensated for it by having more scenes of characters talking to each other.
For example, say you had a scene where you could walk around and talk to 3 other characters. You can replace it with a scene where you're in a car with all three of them, and you have back and forth banter. It could accomplish the same thing, just in a more linear fashion. You get what I mean? Instead of the player walking up and talking to them individually, as an optional thing, it's tied directly into the story instead, where the player will have these conversations no matter what.

I think the thing about hubs, at least for me, was they felt more personal than a scene that was going to happen no matter what. You get a moment to collect yourself, but you're getting individual time with people, getting a sense of things and how they feel about the decisions being made in a one on one discussion rather than a group one. Or, conversely, not, because they'll just be whining about something if you go over there, so lets just go talk to Carly lol.
It wasn't there in S2, not to the extent of S1, but TT handled the relationship between Lee and Clem well enough that she was enough to keep me invested at times when I really hadn't been able to get behind some of the others.

I thought the hub in episode 3 of Michonne was the perfect balance between interaction and character progression. There was a lot of show not tell. You could predict character's past based on everything around them. A good example would be Sam or even Greg's room.

Waiting 2 or 3 months for an hour episode (TWAU Ep 4 for example) is why i got annoyed when paying my money for that when for me it wasn't worth it.
I am so glad i'll always have season 1 to enjoy whenever i want to go back to it
This is disappointing. So this is on pace to be the shortest full season yet...jeeze Telltale..so glad you thought a 2 hour and 30 minute episode was too big..jerks.
I don't believe it was his shitty decision, to be honest; he was just the person who announced the shitty decision to the public. Who do you think is the person responsible for this?

I do believe he was told to announce the first two eps were dropping at the same time, but got nervous and made it sound like we were getting 6 episodes in the season, or that both episodes were boatloads long. The fact the episodes are so fucking short, would 75 be shorter than a Michonne ep? The fact is inexcusable. No one but the writers to blame, I guess. We're probably not gonna be getting hubs back either. They could've easily elongated them by adding some more puzzles/hubs. I'm really excited to play this, but damn is this disappointing.
We know where you work, Kevin!

I just hope somebody tells us how long the episodes were (each).
Episode 1 is about 109 minutes according to @Shiyo296
PLEASE SPOIL ME!! @Shiyo296
Darn, I was hoping "too big for one episode" meant that minimum play time exceeded the first season's.
So who went to Crowdplay then?

What are the titles of the other episodes?

You think you can walk from Scotland to London on foot no problem?
A New Day was around the same time or longer if you took your time so i agree that yes this is good if true

Holy fuck! I'm hyped!
I agree - I'm just saying, that's not what Telltale took out of Season 1's success story, unfortunately.
Yeah i know man
Do we have a confirmed length for both episodes (separate or combined).
It was said that Episode 1 was 109 minutes. Nobody has said anything about Episode 2's length yet.

Episode 4 of Wolf took hardly a month
Maybe that one did which explains how short it was i suppose but you get what i mean in terms of waiting between each episode
73 minutes apparently
So both episodes combined should clock in to about 3 hours and 2 minutes then
around 2 and a half hours. Years of anticipation begins with 2 1 hour and 15 minute episodes...damn TellTale...once again fucking making shit up.
I fucked up the time, the both episodes are one hour and 15 mins, exploring the menu adds 10-39 more mins.
Telltale Games and their fucking deceitful manner.
They're two hours and a half combined, according to what @Shiyo296 just said.
Edited section
How is two hours and a half "too big," Kevin Bruner?
They screwed us over and then did it again backwards.
This is disappointing. So this is on pace to be the shortest full season yet...jeeze Telltale..so glad you thought a 2 hour and 30 minute episode was too big..jerks.
I'm looking at you Kevin Bruner.
We know where you work, Kevin!

Each episode is even shorter than the average episode of Michonne.

I am not even excited for this game any more...this is the last Telltale game for me.
-_-
Are all of the episodes confirmed to be short or just the first two.
