im sorry dude but i go to school and i dont have time to do that.
As a person who is currently taking 7 classes with a job, doing community service hours, and has to wake up at 2am to play the damn episode day of release, I completely agree with you.
are u serious? you dont mind playing an episode from the start if u want to change/see other choices? im sorry dude but i go to school and i dont have time to do that. im just not accepting they would do this to us.
It's not about living with your choices. It's about seeing how things could have been and you can do this while still staying with your choices. I always stay with my original story. But, if choices will matter as much as they say it will in S3, I want to see the different routes the game could have taken without replaying the whole thing.

It's not a total deal breaker for me, but it is an annoyance for checking out 'what if' scenarios and dialogues.
If the idea behind removing the feature was to implement the idea of 'if you make a choice, there's No Going Back™' then there's so many better ways to handle it. For example, allowing for a 'hardcore' setting on saves so that, if enabled, players cannot be tempted to rewind and change their decisions.
If that isn't their reasoning, I'm curious as to why they removed it though.
Yes but the temptation is there to use it, particularly if a decision resulted in a character's death and you want to go back asap and change it.
And I'm not saying you're wrong. It's good to bring this up. Who knows the rewind feature might get added later down the line if it's what fans want, or maybe it'll be an Until Dawn where you have to complete first to unlock it.
i cant believe what im reading. if the rewind feature was available, no one would hold a gun to ur head and force u to use it. but for us who do want to use it makes a huge difference. no rewind feature = no season 3 for me.

The only thing I can think of is for story reasons and for replayability, but story reasons don't really hold that much water seeing as all of the previous games between TWD S1 and Batman had the feature. For me, with these essentially being interactive movies/tv shows with little gameplay apart from dialog choices and some wandering, it's kind of like a DvD/Blu-ray having no scene select.
Regardless, it's no deal breaker and I've ordered the game as I really do like their stories and interactive stories/rpgs in general. It's not bothered me in games like Until Dawn, but it's just missed is all. For instance, in Wolf Among Us, I'd rewind back to the end of episode 1 and choose a different option rather than playing the entire thing again. I also liked replaying certain scenes several times to see what different options do and how they branch, as it kind of interests me for enjoyment and work reasons.
Anyway, no biggie. Just missed, and I'm not entirely sure why it was taken out. I used to think it could have been due to the improved/new engine, but I'm not sure now if The Walking Dead doesn't have it. Also, TWD S1 really shipped without a rewind feature, according to Lilac? I thought it was present from launch or not long after anyhow.

Well I don't play games to much so it's not such a huge deal to me to replay a entire episode. Yes, at the end of season 2 I used the rewind but that was it. Season 3 should have the rewind option as some players use it often but I just don't care for it personally.

like i said, im gonna wait until tuesday because this is not 100% confirmed (maybe the person just missed the screen or didnt see it) but if… more this turns out to be true, im begging everyone who is bothered by this boycott the game until telltale release a patch that is going to fix this. they cant just take away crucial feature like this and expect us to sit back and do nothing! rewind feature was something i used billion times through season 1 & 2 and i cant imagine twd without it. the fact it was missing from batman was one of the reasons i didnt buy that game.
and i remember when batman came out, everyone was dissapointed that they removed the rewind option. most users were scared & begging telltale not to do the same with twd season 3. telltale reads this forums so im guessing they were aware that people didnt want that feature removed. why would they do this?
no, in s1 & 2 every episode was divided in chapters which you could reload and start over from that point. looks like now they are making us to replay entire episode if you want to change one of your choices.
or they might done same thing they did with batman which would be unacceptable for me. every single choice based game i played has the rewin… mored feature. they have no right to take it away from us. i was ready to boycott the game once they announced it was delayed. i forgave them because they are releasing two episodes at once. but removing rewind feature is something i will not forgive them. when you release a sequel, ur supposed to improve the game, not take away features that previous games had.
Listen, I know we have a Very vocal comunity but take a breath will ya? Sure Batman lacks replay but boasts 4 save slots and allows those present to vote on choices. If New Frontier does the same, my Christmas and New Years parties will be a hit with my family. If you must replay I don't see what the problem is if 4 save slots are present. Not to mention the ability to just delete a save and start again. I'm surprised this is even an issue to anyone. But if you want to miss out on what looks to be One of TTG's best games ever, because of one missing feature. That would surely be on you and not TTG Skybound or anyone but you. The rest of us will enjoy it for "what it is" whatever that turns out to be. No judgement here, its your money do as you must. dragonfire out.
But there's no need to get rid of it. They are taking away something people actually like and find useful. This is just yet anothet thing to add to my list why i am pretty sure i will be done with telltale's after this season is over. I haven't thoroughly enjoyed a telltale game since season 1

Might seem like a little thing but when nice features that used to be in earlier games start getting taken out in later ones then that could be laziness creeping in to the franchise. I hate it when franchises go backwards rather than forwards.

Why bother even playing the season?
At first I was a bit annoyed, but now I'm generally curious. Why play something you'll know you won't like it? Wouldn't it be better to go play/watch something that'll make you happy?

Simply because I don't know yet how it's going to be but sadly fear the worst. You deleted what you originally wrote saying i've been bitter for 3 years, well that's just how it is for me. I feel their games after season 1 have been nowhere near as good

Idk man whenever I feel like I've made a shitty decision, I just go back to the main screen and start the game from the last save point. I think the rewind option was more important when the episodes were longer. I definitely understand why people are upset about it, tho

This isn't a total deal-breaker to me. It is however supremely annoying if you want to replay the game and see what would have happened if you did things differently. I really love the rewind button because I want to relive and replay moments that I find awesome and enjoyable.
I don't really see why they removed it. If the reason is that you have live with your choices and resist the temptation to rewind, then they could have made the rewind better by disable it somewhere in the menu. But still, they didn't have to remove a feature that nobody have problem with.
so now that its confirmed to be true, my final decision is im not buying the game. i suggest everyone follow my lead and let telltale know they cant do stuff like this. if we dont start a revolution, they gonna keep taking this away from us. in season 4, they might remove the option to change resolution or have subtitles.

I guess I can see that, but I have never used it, even if I had...I just do not see it as a deal breaker.
Well i usually do multiple playthroughs so that don't bother me.

Yeah...I like that...you make a good point.
Thats a petty reason not to play the game.

No I don't mind replaying an episode from the start but I get that the rewind option is a useful option. Some players like to use it and some don't.
I don't see why you won't buy the game just because there (most likely) won't be the rewind option. I don't get it.
Oh, I kinda forgot we had a rewind option .-.
Then just don't play it again. You're making this a bigger issue than it needs to be.
you seem really upset by this and i understand you 100%
A whole episode?
OH MY GOD!!!!!!!
Well, I don't think that's very true...
So, it wasn't the story, the gameplay, or the characters that you enjoyed.
It was the rewind feature.
Is this understanding correct?
I've never really used the rewind feature, but this is still weird. Wonder why they're removing the option all of a sudden.
Alright, I'll be the bearer of bad news: it's true. There is no rewind button.
i never use the rewind feature anyways. if i want to make different choices i restart from the beginning of the season.
Well I saw this coming, Batman didn't have it either. It's disappointing, but I'll just utilize my save files like with Batman.
Source?

Damn right man
Little birds have no names.
My day was going great until this.
I'd hate to say it but I have to agree.
"a little bird told me". Are you being cheeky...
It kinda sucks that there isnt a rewind. I really dont see a real reason why it was removed.
hopefully they put it back in, if i make a shitty choice in the game ain't no way i'm going to start all the way again.
7 classes, Jesus! I did that too in high school. I failed behind on community service hours and units my senior year. I know it sucks.

When I play an episode first it's more impactful for me to keep my choices whether I regret some or not. On replay however, rewind can be very useful.
