Lee taught Clem the importance of: [community] [justice] [survival] [self reliance]

  • If being badass is being rude and selfish then I agree.

    Not as badass...

  • He regretted killing Randall in Michonne, I remember that vividly because he sort of tortured him and I was like "Damn, BHBrowne Sr., this is kinda horrible!". He chose not to unmask in Batman, too, but he said it was a worthwhile sacrifice to keep Batman's identity safe. And he also really didn't like Alfred anyway, so, y'know. He also kind of regretted letting Harvey become Two-Face, but he really liked Selina. Riiight up until the point where she was getting all sexual with him, and my dad was not appreciative of that.

He regretted shooting Kenny and abandoning Jane, so we went back and let Kenny live so he could walk away from Wellington happily ever after c: He actually argued with Kenny a lot in S1, and he was sceptical of his return in S2, but he seemed to like him enough to stay with him over Jane! I was more of a Jane kind of guy, but I chose to leave with Kenny anyways. He still finds that odd. To be fair, so do I.

I agree with the sentiment about A New Frontier being good, hopefully. We're just a little apprehensive, as we weren't staggered by the finale for Batman (I wrote my thoughts on a seperate forum post. I do get a bit, uhm, in-depth, though.). Hopefully there'll be many tough choices to debate over!

Hey, no rush on having kids!! Trust me haha I'm guessing he chose not to unmask and regretted hurting Alfred? And which choice did he re

  • I think your dad understood what an evil terrible threat Randall was, and also wanted him to pay for what he did to John Fairbanks. Just my thoughts, since I chose to torture and kill Randall as well. I would probably behave a bit differently if my kid were watching though, try not to be too hard on him though ;)

Oh noooooo, he was tricked into killing Kenny, sad day. If he is going into ANF with Kenny that is cool too, although I am usually against changing your decisions once they have been made. Just my opinion, since not rewinding makes the regret hit home even harder. That's funny that he ended up killing Kenny but you stayed with Kenny, despite feeling the opposite way. Why DID you let Kenny kill Jane and then stay with him later, if you don't mind my asking.

I thought the Batman finale was decent... it definitely felt like the entire season was just an intro for season 2, which is where the story will truly take off. Maybe if we go into ANF with low expectations we will be blown away even more when it turns out to be amazing!

  • Well it is still kinda badass if I tell Carver to go die.

If being badass is being rude and selfish then I agree.

    I mostly didn't want my Clem to shoot anyone. I've gone out of my way to steer her away from that outcome - Lee killed the stranger, and then told her to leave him - and so I wasn't about to break that code now. Even though I really liked the idea of playing Secret Sisters 'til the end of time, as I always wanted a sister of my own ; _ ;

I also didn't want Clem on her own, so I decided "fuck it", I'll stay with Kenny, and then I didn't trust Wellington. If it looks too good to be true, it usually is.

My dad mostly rewinded because he felt really really bad about it, and it completely ruined the season for him. He seems a lot happier, now, so I don't hold it against him. shrugs

That's our hope with going in with low hopes (heh, wordplay.) By going in with low expectations, we're hoping we'll either be blown away or just sort of quietly miserable because we were expecting it. Anything but disappointed, though! \o/

Main reason we disliked Batman was how we felt it was far too action heavy in the second and third act. We'd have preferred more dialogue in the fight with clears throat loudly, as opposed to just knocking the shit out of her and her just walking it off. I dunno. We both loved Children of Arkham, but City of Light fell really short for us. We're nitpickers, I guess.

  • The "self reliance" part doesn't make sense to me since it wasn't till the very end you get to kinda teach her that (Determinant). Especially since most of the game is about how she kinda has to depend on Lee.

The other 3 kinda make sense though since survival is what you teach her from Ep3 and 5, and community/justice can be in passing comments between them (like when you have to explain your actions to her). But yeah it wasn't directly teaching her.

  • Survival and Self-Reliance.
Survival because Lee's goal was to make sure Clem would survive. Self-Reliance because you can't survive without relying on skill.

  • We'd have preferred more dialogue in the fight with Vicki, as opposed to just knocking the shit out of her and her just walking it off.

And the power of context fails me once again! I need to look into this at some point.

  • I don't really get what you mean, at the risk of sounding like an Uninformed Umberto. Maybe I'm just exceptionally silly?

  • I'm just wondering why Batman was beating up Vicki Vale. I haven't looked into the Telltale Batman game yet, is all.

    I'm kidding! Don't kill me!

Lol. Thanks. Yours is not bad either

  • Ah, thats a very good reason to not pull the trigger. I forgot about the secret sisters thing, that part was heartwrenching when Clem talked about Sandra. Are you an only daughter then?

That's interesting that you didn't trust Wellington from the get go. I don't trust it now either but at first it just looked so amazing and I felt some regret at walking away from it. Now I feel like leaving the kids without a guardian is a horrible choice, and I think that Clem will lose her finger if she stayed there.

we're hoping we'll either be blown away or just sort of quietly miserable because we were expecting it.

I think you guys are doing it right. I'm having to contain my hype just a bit because I don't want to expect perfection and then get laggy visuals and choices that don't matter. I think these games have turned me into somewhat of a cynic, lol.

    We're nitpickers, I guess.

Hey, nothing wrong with knowing what you want in a game and holding it to high standards!! Sounds like you and your father get really into these games, I'm really happy and somewhat envious of that :)

Yeah, and even then it was actually Chuck that made Lee do that (teach about guns and cut her hair) in the first place. It certainly wasn't Lee's idea first.
