Yeah, we see ONE bandit shooting at Clem and Edith as the run away with AJ. Edith gets shot and dies and Clementine takes AJ and runs away. It is only about 15-30 seconds lol
Wait, really?
All that trouble to get to Wellington, and we never get to see what's inside it?
Do we even get to know why Clementine left the place to begin with, at the very least?
Just watched it. You'd think that Edith would have better back up than Clementine. There should have been realistically far more people she'd go to before she goes to Clementine. It didn't seem like there was much of a fight put up either. Those guys just went in and killed everyone lmao.
Wellington doesn't offend quite so much. I mean, everyone would have to assume it fell somehow given what we know of the main narrative, but goddamn Telltale is scraping the bare minimum when it comes to world building and narrative detail here.
It reminds me of when tv shows decide to recast an actor, it's just uncomfortable. Also, it's only supposed to be like what, a week after season 2 in the Jane ending and Clementine already looks 2 years older.

the writing is really... weird. (all i've seen so far is the flashbacks so bare with me)
take jane's ending for example. lots of people were like
"lol what if she's pregnant with luke's baby!?" check
"what if the people they let in betray them/ambush them if they don't?" check.
they even made her bring up jaime again. it feels like a weird fanfic that fans wrote.

The flashback starts with Clementine and Alvin Junior inside a shipping container accommodated as a house, in which the two live together with Edith. Alvin is doodling with crayons and Clem has to guess what it is; they are interrupted by a blast. Edith soon arrives, warning Clem that the group from "last week" is back and they are demanding more supplies than Wellington—which is now sick and starving—can afford to turn over. Clementine collects essential supplies, determinantly leaving Kenny's hat behind, and the three venture through the gates of the community. Amidst their escape, the guard at the gates is killed by a man armed with an assault rifle. The man manages to have Edith shot through the head, and she appears to have crushed the toddler she was carrying; Clem screams. After a quick inspection, Alvin turns out to be okay. Clementine runs into the woods with the child on her arms, persecuted by more people of the invading party.

You know, I've always picked the Jane ending because I just never liked Kenny and I never wanted Clementine to go alone, but never mind. I'd rather go alone then have Jane, Kenny, and Edith all killed off in such cheap ways.
I'm saving them from the nightmare that is season 3.

I'm actually more bothered about Wellington's flashback than the others.
Why aren't there any guards checking the perimeters and shooting down the bandits to stop the place from being overtaken? Actually, no, were there even ANYBODY living there besides Edith and the man on the radio from the Season 2's Wellington ending?
I had thought the whole place was meant to be overcrowded, which was why only Clementine and AJ were only allowed in while Kenny had to be turned away. Why were people being turned away from living there if there was more than enough room for all of the group members from both Season 1 and 2 combined, and the place was virtually empty judging by the very brief flashback?
Wellington was meant to be a highly regarded safe camp considering how many people had desperately wanted to go there in Season 2...and yet all we had was an implied barren land with no such thing as a community?
Either Edith is actually a selfish individual who lied from the start about the place being overpopulated and had wanted the entire land for herself, or the flashback sequences was handled so clumsily that it had made Wellington look utterly pathetic that it was easily taken over by a handful of bandits.

I haven't even played yet and these comments are making me depressed. Also I'm glad now that I chose to be alone at the end of S2 because now I don't have to see Jane or Kenny die like that. And I really thought I was going to regret my ending choice. Thank God.
Also, not seeing the two of them looking so creepy in the new art style makes me even happier, phew.
Hahaha, you don't gain that much wait so early in a pregnancy. This isn't more than a month after season two, i'd be surprised if it was more than a week. Besides, that's not the point, her face is way different is what I was saying.
What man on the radio? All I remember was Edith telling Clementine and Kenny to drop their weapons. Somehow I doubt Edith would have just lied about the situation, especially since she gave Kenny supplies. It was probably just bad writing.

Perhaps, I was more referencing to the sequence of events and not the overall setting itself. My critique of that lay in what I meant by doing "the bare minimum," because it is pretty much devoid of anything close to being a community. It's pretty clear Telltale didn't waste efforts to make interior detail to Wellington and besides Edith I think we only see one other person, the blonde lady that gets shot as they flee.
Most people, I assume, would assume, that Wellington fell like this. A surprise attack that killed the residents and Clementine slips out, that's the logical story given what we had been teased about season 3. That the exact execution of the story is this thinly veiled with detail is obviously a flaw, but all the flashbacks are like this.
You are completely right of course, but just felt like the Wellington flashback surprised me less than Kenny and Jane's.

Whoa whoa whoa, Intentionally reductive? Come on man, I didn't realize that what I watched wasn't the full scene. Sorry about that, but no need to accuse me of trying to make the game look bad. It was a simple mistake.

if you ask me it was exactly like her character to go out like that. she had a habit of running away from her problems, like kenny said in s2 "running away again? what a shocker, in the end you still only care about yourself." so yeah.
It's not that. It's that the way they died was poorly done. Jane hanging herself makes no sense. Why would she do that and let herself turn … moreinto a walker after what happened to her sister and it's not like her character to do that, and Kenny survives near impossible events and that's how he dies? Cop out. Im stating to think that maybe Kenny should've died in the alley way protecting Ben, or helping Christa. At least then, he would've died a heroic way. This was just telltale not knowing what to do so they just killed them off as cheaply as they could.
I vaguely remember Edith having a radio and talking to a man at some point, but I'm not 100% certain.
If it is bad writing, then this just colossally bad writing. Wellington was an important destination in Season 2, but the payoff in Season 3 in the form of a flashback is just terrible.

In season 2:
Clem: Rebecca's just worried about her baby. I mean, wouldn't you be?
Jane: I wouldn't bring a child into this world, and like you said it's her baby. Not mine, or yours.
Yea she would, she's emotionally drained and now that she's pregnant... makes sense she'd kill herself. Jane doesn't want to bring a child into a zombie apocalypse.

They would have looked better if Telltale had planned to do something better with them.
Thank you.
I'm rather disappointed with how the flashback had turned out, truth to be told.
By not playing it? I doubt Clementine's presence triggered the attack that cost Edith her life.
I haven't even played yet and these comments are making me depressed. Also I'm glad now that I chose to be alone at the end of S2 because now I don't have to see Jane or Kenny die like that. And I really thought I was going to regret my ending choice. Thank God.

Honestly, I don't have a favorite. They're all rather unimpressive.
But if I had to pick, it's the flashback involving Kenny due to my sadism.
Perhaps, I was more referencing to the sequence of events and not the overall setting itself. Butterfly effect.
If Clem hadn't had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich last Tuesday, the apocalypse might not have been triggered for all we know.
I vaguely remember Edith having a radio and talking to a man at some point, but I'm not 100% certain.

Her model was poorly handled.
We do hear multiple people scream when the invaders start shooting.
They force communities to hand over supplies on a weekly basis, although the remote location of Wellington does suggest differently.
Could be the invaders screaming
remembering that scene from the show made me laugh all over again, thanks
And I didn't know you hadn't watch it completely!
It's just a misunderstanding.
I knew it was her fault!
She did have a walkie but the other voice appears as static to the audience so we don't know what person was talking from the other end.
Just to make things more dramatic, eh?
In season 2:
Clem: Rebecca's just worried about her baby. I mean, wouldn't you be?
Jane: I wouldn't bring a child into this world, and like you said it's her baby. Not mine, or yours.
Can't believe I remember that conversation. :P
