I'm going to try and be neutral and calm about my thoughts
Kenny, Jane, and Edith's deaths are extremely unfortunate and very tragic. I can fully understand why fans would be angry as all hell. It did seem like the easy way out for the characters. But overall, I can't be negative. I really like Javier. I think he has potential to be a great character. I also like Kate quite a lot and her dynamic with Javi is great. I think David can be quite compelling as well if they develop it well. Clementine is so badass as well. I think the story has a lot of potential this season and I hope we can get past some of our differences to see what happens. On the bright side, Kenny, Jane, and Edith can all be alive out there somewhere if we picked a different season 2 ending. We didn't get that chance with Lee...But anyway, my main problems with the episode was the lazy write-offs of the prior season characters and I think the length of the episodes were a tad short but might get better.
I just hope we can all give them the benefit of the doubt. I do hope that Clementine becomes playable at some point outside of flashbacks because it doesn't seem like she has a whole lot of backstory to see apart from what happens to AJ and possibly some New Frontier stuff. I just don't want to see hate on Javier or Kate or anything just because we're upset about some other things. We need to remain fair and critique fairly. I do feel slightly disappointed as I said but I will move on because it could be MUCH MUCH worse.

Do you view it now more like a tv show in which we choose actor's lines instead of an interactive game now?
I think what I would've done is dedicated a little more time to the flashbacks. It seems like it's over too quick and then we lose the dramatic effect. I think if we got one flashback an episode from Clem up until the finale, we could've had time to develop the situation more. But Kenny died a hero and considering Jane was pregnant and her mindset from season 2, she actually stuck to her convictions in her last moment in life. So in a way, I have respect that she wasn't a hypocrite in that regard. I am really glad we have the chance to save both Kenny and Jane by just leaving them in season 2. People can interpret what happens to the character then on. We didn't get that chance with Omid or Lee.
Considering the amount of choices we got in season 2 to abandoned Jane or Kenny it was quite clear that the Clem alone ending was the one TTG was pushing us to because it was the only one they had the intention of following through on
You summed up things well...am I dissatisfied with Kenny and Jane scenes...yeah...she would not have done that...and Kenny....Listen I had my issues with him in S2...but only way he should have gone out was like a Boss..
And the episode length is bullshit.
But I am loving the story so far and that is important.
I don't really understand this line of thinking. If choices truly don't matter, shouldn't the writing be much better to compensate? Like, if choices actually mattered, subpar writing would be more excusable because of all the different scenarios and variables the writer would have to consider. But if nothing is variable, we should expect super amazing writing since there's nothing holding the writer back. Kenny and Jane's deaths were not "masterful", they were lazy. I accepted that choices don't matter, just like you, but in return I expected good writing...
I'm hoping by the next episode the length will be fixed or at least slightly improved.
I'm also excited to be making Rick/Shane/Lori references to Javi/David/Kate...
An entire season was built on the whole wellington story, and it's wiped out in under 3 minutes.
There are some positives about the game, I think Javi is a great character, and telltale made the right choice for him to be the lead.
However, there are many faults with this game.
Plenty of flaws I agree. Still hoping there's a lot of positives to be found in season three.
I didn't see how Edith died... anyone mind telling me?
gets shot in the head trying to escape with clementine, lands on top of AJ , clem thinks she crush him but he is ok.
Yeah Wellington is attacked by possibly the Saviors and Clem and Edith make a run for it outside the walls with AJ but she is shot in the head and falls on AJ, which makes Clem think she crushed him. But he is fine and Clem runs off with him.
