Season 3 Premier Concerns

A few things I'm a little... unsure about. The first being that they should of kept Episode 2 back for a couple weeks. For a number of reasons.

  • the first episode was so well optimised and ran super smooth, not a single drop in frames. No texture problems or glitching. Then I start the second episode, consistent screen tearing and frame drops, glitching models (I swear to god at one point the side of Javier's face was folding in on itself), textures glitching (grass and hair flashing between the normal and black, parts of the environment appearing and disappearing).

  • impact of the first episode's ending was lost. An important character had just died and we're moving straight on without time to let the consequences sink in. The wtf factor was lost within moments of starting the new episode. Something which Telltale did really well with their other series (Episode 1 of the Wolf Among Us).

  • story felt like it had started off small and was then stretched out. Something I think would of been avoided by releasing episode 2 later.

Secondly, the fact that we don't control Clementine. The game was spoken about as a continuation of HER story. Not a new one that she was a part of. I played through the first two seasons leading up to the release of this new one (thanks by the way Telltale, my Xbox One save wouldn't import and the upload didn't work) and found out only one major decision effected how she turns out (the ending of season 2). I had assumed that the first episode would be Javier based, and the second would Clementine based (the reason why I thought they'd start the season with two episodes instead of one) which apparently isn't the case...

Thoughts? I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way... That the second episode felt rushed to meet the release date...

  • I hate how clementine is kind of bitchy in this one-my clementine was always nice and I only chose her good choices (Tried to keep her as close to her season 1 personality as possible, never stole etc.) but now her personality has made a total 360 from how I made her back in season 2, and I can't even control that! I had to yell at my screen a few times "I didn't raise u like that Clem!" Lol. It's like a waste of time and it really makes me sad. Ughhh.

  • I know how you feel. What happened to her after the ending of season 2 is kinda shitty, doesn't mean she'd drop everything she valued in favour of this... other person. The create a story which I was forced to use even reinforced that she was a kind and caring person who wanted to see the best in people and protect those close to her. Not what I saw in my playthrough.
