I'm Loving Season 3 so far! (Spoilers)
With all the rants going on, I thought I'd be in for a disappointment...but goddamn was I wrong. These two episodes were great. First off, I like Javier, he is a really likable protagonist with a backstory that I'm more interesting know about. I like the interactions between him and Kate. The new engine looks really damn good here, and with the exception of one moment in the second episode, the technical performance was solid. These two episodes, while short, moved at a good pace, and ended appropriately imo.
And Clementine...oh man. She is such a fucking beast in this season so far. I love where they are taking this character and her building friendship with Javi, and what that will mean for Clem as the season progresses.
I know about the controversy of the Kenny/Jane death scenes, and yeah that sucks, but I killed Kenny in S2 and left Jane's ass behind, and the flashback I got is without contest the better one. It also shows what happened to Clementine's finger, which i thought was cool.
Overall, I thought these episodes were great. My only disappointment was that I didn't buy the season pass.

I thought i was the only person who enjoyed these episodes. It's really sad reading all the negative reviews.... That cliffhanger tho. I can't wait for episode 3.
The negative reception is kinda overblown. Its people getting pissy about one flashback in the first episode( which i get but still), and not being able to play as Clem.
Yeah! I actually do think TTG were really lazy about Kenny and Jane, but since I went with the alone ending, it's working fine for me! I like Javi, Clem is badass and really cool, it's even more difficult to make choices between her and the family actually. They just went with their thing... So far it's pretty good, and the new engine is flawless, so I'm happy with it!
But eh, it's the TT community, people will hate on it and at the end of the season everybody will be waiting for season 4 like their lives depends on it
I love the start to the season both episodes great. My only complaint is the short episodes. I miss the long ones from season 1. Can't wait for episode 3, things going to get intense.
I guess people really wanted a sequel to S2, and that's not what they got.
Personally, this is going exactly as I'd hoped it would
It makes me realize that Clementine works way better as a supporting character than a main character.
