If we are getting choices like this we should be worried for the rest of the game
seriously Conrad or Clem? did telltale honestly think anyone was gonna take up his deal?
at this point it just takes away from the feel of it being a choice tbh cause it's so obvious what to pick
i can just see it now later in the game, choose between saving Clem or Gabe and logically for his character Javier would pick Gabe cause family and all that obviously but cause it's Clem nearly everyone will pick her and all logic goes out the window

It had less to do with it being Clem, and more to do that Conrad was holding Javi's nephew hostage (and just after seeing his niece die). I would have shot and killed Conrad regardless if it was Clem or another similar child in that situation.
Conrad had a point, you could trade Clem for Eleanor and some supplies for Kate, the fact that you are a fanboy of Clem doesn't mean everyone is one too.
I agree. Players are much more invested in Clem than Javier is.
It's worked out fine for me so far. I've kept Clem happy without feeling like I went out of character.
I don't understand how TellTale thought we'd take his deal. I don't even give a shit about most characters this Season, except Clem. Javier - barely but only because he's the playable character.
I took his deal he held Javi's nephew at gunpoint. i don't care that Gabe is a bit bitchy, he's Javi's family, and after Mariana I wasn't going to take any chances.
Don't remember being in the minority when the stats screen showed up at the end of the episode, I'll have to double check how many other people shot him in the face though. Didn't really care about Kate or Eleanor, easy choice.
eh that's sorta true although in the grand scheme of things things it could have been a bit more evened out i reckon if it was someone new who was actually part of the new frontier
it isn't even about being a fanboy (which i'm not even so that's not the point) it's the fact that they are basically saying choose between going against a character you have been invested in for 2 games or pick someone you just met who has also so far been a dick to you it's just a stupid choice unless they had someone new in clem's spot
but in game yea he did have a point but fact is only a very very small minority would have actually done it
How does siding with Conrad turn out? In hindsight, it seems like shooting him was the right choice, but I didn't go back and check.
They hold Clem at gunpoint, the group finds out about her mark, and then you use her as a bargain with the new frontier.
Yeah, I see this being a "problem" in the future. So far, Telltale made the choices make sense for Javier even if you always side with Clem. Like choosing to stay and fight at the junkyard instead of going with your family. I did it mainly because there was no way I would leave Clem alone but Javier choosing Clem over being with his family (specially after what happens in the opening scene) is unnatural, but you could think Javier's intentions might've been to get revenge for what they did to Mariana instead of being all about Clem. Same with killing Conrad. It would be weird if Javier would just kill a guy because he is threatening Clem, but since he has Gabe at gunpoint, it makes more sense. But it doesn't change the fact that choices like these will always be super easy for me and that's a bit disappointing in a way, I guess.
