I am going to guess they just made Clem said that to be funny or cute.

Thing that is getting me conflicted is that Clem is just so...Attractive this season, I mean like she's so cute. I'd date her if she was real. Relax, don't start calling me a pedo. I'm 15.

I get very anxious now that I can't control Clementine and I don't think my choices for her would have totally shut her away from having a relationship. I'm fine if they're friends but I don't really see Gabe and Clementine having a relationship of equal and mutual respect. Gabe still has a long way to go before he can truly empathize with Clementine and her hardships and understand her survival methods, and I think Clementine deserves that much.
But then again I've always been turned off to the idea of Clem having a romantic partner anyways so I'm biased.
Because she's mature enough to talk to him and not really care what the others think about that? If she and Gabe end up forming a genuine bond, that's their business.

I think TellTale are just testing the waters for a reaction from the fanbase. If the general reaction is massively negative (which I think is fair at the moment) then I think they'll pull the cord before it goes further.
Personally I don't really mind if it happens, but if it does happen they should make it optional for the people who don't want it to happen. Just like Tales from the Borderlands.
I like it. To me, it's cool that there is another character around Clem's age. Whether it's romantic or not, I hope Clem and Gabe's relationship builds because she needs a companion her own age. Also, I hope Gabe matures and doesn't become the next Ben/Nick (although I love Nick) because I don't want him to get the axe right away.
I doubt there is going to be anything actually romantic going on really. They talked, and that was fine. They seemed to get along, that was fine. If Gabe has a crush on her then that's up to him to deal with, not Javier.

If you actually don't side with Clementine when she shoots the guy in the face (which EVERYONE sided with her), you'll get to chat with Eleanor some more and eventually Clem will walk up to you two. Eleanor can call Javy "darling" and Clem rolls her eyes and says "UGH, gross." Also if you kiss Kate she clearly rolls her eyes too. Not with a smile or anything, she genuinely isn't interested.
So I feel like she will either reject him in a not so-nice-way or just back off completely.
I would shut that shit down no exceptions. Myself along with lots of you treat Clem as like a daughter. And I want to play as her so bad but I can't I'm just some stupid asshole that I care nothing about and is in no position to guide Clem.
