  • BTW, why did Jane look so ...bloated? I barely recognized her...she didnt even look like Jane, like those cheeks. What was up with that?

  • Somebody see Clem? Bacuse i don't, i only see some fucking crazy girl who looks like Clem, but it's not she for sure.

You lose the right to tell him to go away and call him a troll when you openly admit to trying to sabotage the character of Javier and his family simply because he's not Clementine. Javier deserves just as much a chance from fans that Clem does. It was a well known fact that she wasn't the main character and you bought it anyway. Suck it up or don't play.

    Hate it.

Javier - sorry but hes is lame. a deeb. I hate the stupid soap opera love triangle crap. Dont care about any of that crap.

Choices I made about what type of person clem is means nothing. no matter how many saves i loaded up or didnt load up. clem acts the same with only a few different lines. Lazy and pointless. Should of just had us play as her.

A lot of moronic stuff i noticed. example Javier crawls under to enter building because door is locked and canted be pryed. he gets in underfloor. rest enter no problem through locked door. Pointless.

Bad writing is bad writing. I would defend Telltale if they did good. They have done bad so far.

  • I agree, I really disliked the graphics, it had none of the mystery and ruggedness or even emotional weight of the first two seasons, it was way too short, generally unlikable, flat, boring characters. Pretty much nothing happened., Very disappointed. I noticed they have an entire new team of writers and such on board, which would explain the blah writing and bland, flat characters and events. Underwhelmed and quite disappointed. I always want to replay previous episodes but i dont care to think about this again. 400 Days had more interesting, fleshed out and multidimensional characters.

First episode in. Weakest. introduction. ever....sigh...here's hoping it gets better.

  • But.....it's the truth? I'm not insulting you. I'm simply stating the choices. You can either give Javier a chance, or just not play the game. That's not something you should take offense to.

ok, I cant figure out how to delete this.

  • If this was a completely different game just taking place in TWD universe but being focused on different characters in a different setting completely unrelated to Clem and her story line, I would totally get making us play Javier or some other new entity. But since this DOES intersect with what has happened before and is a continuity thereof to some degree and because Clem, a character we followed since Season 1, is part of it, it feels bizarre to ask us to now play a complete stranger we know nothing about and dont care about. It is like all of a sudden taking the protagonist of a movie or novel and making them a side character in order to make some new character the lead. It doesnt feel right. Imagine if the show TWD all of a sudden started being about some new survivors and Rick became sort of a side character we occasionally saw on screen.

The result of this new narrative is that I dont care about Javier and his family, nor did i care that his little niece was shot. Fuck, I wouldnt care if Javier died. I have no connection to these people. This doesnt make a lick of sense. Why did they do that?

On top of that, the story isnt even well written or compelling. it was totally boring and short. We waited for 2 years for this?? Really? Compared to Season 2 and especially 1, this is pathetic. i am sorry to say. Go bring back all the folks who made seasons 1 and 2 what they are

  • Oh please, I am not losing the right to call on a troll just casue i dump on a fake computer game character. Give me a break. I play Javier as I want to play him and you play him as you want to play him. That is sort of the whole point of this. I dont like him, i dont care about this character and i dont owe him anything. Not like me liking or not liking Javier has any bearing on how you can play and enjoy him. So what;s it to you? Go have a field day with Javy...

  • Disappointed. This isn't what two years of planning and working is supposed to look like.

  • Look, I did not interject into your comment and somehow said you cannot like Javier or else suggested that you miss Clem just as I do. My comment was not directed at you and you dont see me reply to people and berate them for liking Javier and asking them not to. So for you to do the opposite and respond to me with this take it or leave it/gtfo attitude is exactly that: insulting. What's it to you? You enjoy the game the way you want to. You wont see me try to audit you. There is a lot of people here who express their likes or dislikes. this is what this thread is specifically about. If you think your response to everyone here who expresses disappointment in some or all aspects of the game needs to be "then dont watch it or get over it" , it is going to be a long few weeks.

omg seriously? People have the right to not like or even hate something. There are tons of praise threads around here where you can gush about this game all you want. Nonstop, 24/7. Send a thank you card too if you wish. But why join a thread that is specifically asking people what they liked, disliked and even hated about the new season with the sole intent to engage in personal attacks and call people "dicks"? WTF.

  • Sure! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but you're taking this news about not playing as Clem like it was just announced an hour ago. It's quite surprising how you just now found out. I'm not scrolling the boards looking to berate people for their opinion, I didn't even do the same to you. I came across your comment and found it quite childish, so I responded. Calling me a troll for stating facts is also very childish. If you hate Javier and are playing it like you want to kill him, then why are you playing the game at all? Just don't play it if you hate him that much! You are correct in the fact that I am enjoying the game the way I want to, and I couldn't give two shits :P about the way you wanna play the game. All I'm saying is that if you don't care for the main character in a game, learn to like him, or don't play at all. You would be justified in calling me a troll if I called you an idiot for your opinion, or insulted you in another way, but I didn't.

  • I actually think they scrapped their old (glorious) models and spent about half an hour making new ones for the engine considering the fucking douchebags...I mean writers only gave them like 90 seconds of screen time.

Thanks for giving your unnecessarily offended input. Hop off telltales dick and hold them responsible because they aren't doing much right these days. They don't listen to their fans whatsoever, we ask for episodes as long as they were in season one, clear release dates, choices that matter- we're not asking them to change the story depending on our choices we're saying it'd be nice to see a character like Clem act differently because of her past rather than have one line of dialogue different from a choice. It looks like they went searching the forums for ideas and ran with the worst ones.

Liked it. Didn't love it like the first two seasons. Although, I've only played episode 1 so far so maybe episode 2 and the rest of the season will be better.

    Episode 1:

    Pros:

-Javier, Kate, Eleanor, and Mariana are interesting enough characters

    -Clementine. That is all.

-Solid action sequences. (Not Michonne level, but about as good as the action sequences in Season 2.)

    -Promising new villains.

    -Interesting new direction.

-Better graphics than the previous two seasons.

    Cons:

    -Gabe is a pretentious fuckwad.

-The Season 2 endings were handled about as well as the 400 Days characters.

-Marianna's death, while shocking definitley, felt a touch forced and took away from the impact of the scene for me.

    Final Verdict:
Enjoyed the episode overall, but here's to hoping the rest of the season is as fantastic as the previous two.

    Final Score:
    8/10.

Loved it. Definitely off to a better start than season 2 and we actually got some romance in there as well which I love.. My only gripe is how they killed off Kenny/Jane.

  • Oops sorry lol. Meant season 2

Woah, when did Season 4 release?

  • Lmao we both described Gabe as a fuckwad! High five brotha! :P

  • Apart from certain points, I quite like it -I must admit it is pretty enjoyable and the story is alright, I just hope our choices have better effects on the story for this season.

I wrote this in an earlier thread but I even being a hispanic guy did not like the first episodes really REALLY short why even split these up ?

I finished both episode in two hours TWO HOURS are the other episodes gonna be around 1 hour long as well ?

Also I feel the game is starting to suffer the same fate as the show it has become really stale and when the characters are not interesting anymore and then you turn the fan favorite into a stereotype and basiclly kill off remaining cast from the previous seasons.

Walking dead the show are not well in rating anymore because killing off everyones favourite characters, is not gonna work in the long run even George RR Martin has some people remain alive in game of thrones.

And the walking dead does not really have any big stakes in the narrative like game of thrones have and is even more dependent on its characters, and when you slaughter characters left and right it becomes a rince and repeat situation.

Im just dissapointed by the fact that kenny had 2 seasons of build up yet 2 min of screen time in season three getting flung out of a windshield, looking plastic, and eaten alive. Both seasons of siding with kenny seem pointless now, although I feel I should have seen this coming.

  • It was very disappointing to see plastic kenny lol

  • All those parts that were Clem's flashback and what happened to her after the end of Season 2, those should have been part of Season 3. Anf you know what, I would even be ok with Javier being the main guy if he was remotely interesting or compelling or if this season was even remotely intriguing. It is so bad, I have not played episode 2. I remember the first time i played TWD, I played through the first 3 episodes in one day and was blown away and could not wait to see what happens. It really is a shame...

And i am still laughing at the fact that they couldnt even get the graphics right, Jane looks like she has either been popping pills on the side or injecting botox. What's with those hamster pouches on her face Good grief.

  • They're really trying to get us behind these new characters with flashbacks but its just not having the same effect of actually spending the time with them like we did with Clem. On your reference to the show, this game is kinda like having the season finale of Season 6, and then calling Fear The Walking Dead season 7. The game has been built on establishing a connection between the player and Clem, but the entire narrative has been pretty much abandoned. Could you imagine going to see Return of the Jedi, and the majority of the movie is about the Ewoks? Sure, you see a bit of Luke and the Rebels, but I'm stuck with the Ewoks most of the time? They'd make that the new definition of no.

  • no kidding. And the idea that as people who pay to play this game we should somehow be grateful they made it at all and not have any opinions that could be perceived as "annoying" or "Negative" by fanboys who, for some bizarre reason, take criticism of a game's contents personal, is ridiculous. I would actually imagine that the feedback they get here, even and especially negative ones, one way or another, would help them make better games and write better stories. Patrolling the forums to look for people who say something you think is ridiculous or stupid and insulting them, on the other hand, certainly does not further that.

  • I love it, except for the certain reckless, truly terrible flashback-part.

  • Just finished episode 2. An improvement but what isn't when you expectations hit rock bottom?

  • Love it. Better than the premiere of the walking dead season two.
    Can't wait for more.

  • I did not like it, because I couldn't really find much to like about it. I have so many problems with this season so far. Where to start? The music is cut and paste from S1 and S2, nothing new or really note worthy. The lip sync is awful. No ending credit music which use to give the game a certain charm to it. Animation and graphical glitches were everywhere (played on Xbox one). I did not like the majority of new characters. Clementine's personality did a complete 180 from what she was in the previous season. S2 ending choices had such low effort put into them. And the story is pretty predictable. And the game is incredibly short for the same price we pay with the lack of a rewind function. Sheesh I could go on, but remember this is my opinion and my experience. I hope for better, but that may be unlikely.

  • I like it. Next 3 episodes I think are needed to determine how I really feel.

I like it but i wish the Clementine flashback in episode 1 was a bit longer, i had the Clementine alone in Wellington with AJ ending and i think it would have been fun to explore some of it before the attack.

I'm looking forward to episode 3 and i hope we spend more time with Clementine as i didn't use her as a bargaining chip so she might not be around for a little while at the begenning of my main save.
