I've played through S1 more times than I can count. Besides the annoying parts of starting the train and the awful gun fight during episode 3, I'd say it's still an amazing game.
Dude I can't wait to go back and replay S1 in like 5 years where I've forgotten a whole lot about the game! That would be awesome! :P I cert… moreainly know what you mean. None of this just has the feel that Season 1 did. And to be honest, I liked Season 2. I thought All That Remains was crap but I liked the other episodes because they certainly catered to a Kenny fan like myself. I just almost kinda feel betrayed, you know? All this time with him, and he's gone. I guess all we can do is just switch to the Wellington ending and hope he's out there somewhere!
Same. In fact, I think that's a large part of why I thought it was fine.
I mean, yeah, it's a terrible way to just write out, arguably, one of the most popular characters in the series who's been around since day one, and shows a severe lack of creativity in Telltale's department if they actually thought Kenny dying in a car crash was a good idea (and walkers).
Then again, I don't really think they had much care for whether it was good writing or not, just so long as they could write him out, I suppose. But despite that and having had time to calm down, as much as I hate the ending, I'll admit that it wasn't, at least, too damaging for the character and did, ignoring the weird appearance, feel like Kenny. So yeah, I guess in that sense, it was fine-ish.
You know, the funny thing about that is not only was it kinda predictable but I actually thought she might do something like that for a while now.
Kenny's death was shit, there's no doubt about that, but at least, it still felt like him, personality wise.
Same. In fact, I think … morethat's a large part of why I thought it was fine.
Jane killing herself and this isn't coming from a fan of hers, made no sense at all and just makes the character look incredibly selfish and goes against her whole survivor persona in the second series.
You know, the funny thing about that is not only was it kinda predictable but I actually thought she might do something like that for a while now.
If you've "never been so disappointed in (your) fucking life" and "can't even describe how robbed, hurt, sad and disappointed (you) feel" over a video game, perhaps you should GET OUT MORE.
It's like Kenny's death was written by some of his most passionate haters on here or something. The guy is a legend of the franchise, consid… moreered by a lot to be the best character in the series and they kill him whilst he's giving a driving lesson? I mean wow... how did they think people would react to this? Someone should have stepped in and mentioned that this just isn't good enough.
I must have missed the part where people aren't allowed to have a life and get invested in a story? I work for a living, I'll feel however I please about whatever I want, sport.
If you've "never been so disappointed in (your) fucking life" and "can't even describe how robbed, hurt, sad and disappointed (you) feel" over a video game, perhaps you should GET OUT MORE.

I understand that. But when you have two years to plan this and not even have five minutes with those characters to have them killed off immediately, it's sick. I don't see why they couldn't just join Episode 1 and Episode 2 together, they're not long episodes at all, they could of expected these episodes by having more time with Kenny, Jane or being alone. It doesn't make a damn sense other than being lazy. Compared to Season 1's episode lengths, it's incredibly shameful.
It's like working on a project, getting stuck in the middle of it, having no idea what to do and just making the quickest possible thing you can come up with. It does NOT end well.
Damn, everyone here roasting Telltale so damn bad. I wouldn't be surprised if there were a telltale employee somewhere out there crying them self to sleep lol. But I have no sympathy for them, this is what they get for not putting in any good effort.
Honestly, I don't even like Jane or Kenny, but what they did to the characters was really insulting. Would it be that hard to just give them deaths that make sense? Or, I don't know, don't kill them at all, but just let them get separated from Clem? Seriously, that left a sour taste in my mouth, and I didn't have those terrible flashbacks in my game.
At this point I'm really worried about GoT Season 2. I can already see it. Asher/Rodrik gets killed by Royland/Duncan/Gwyn, because they're still secretly working with Whitehills (yes, even the sentinel GASP double traitor) in the first 5 minutes and proceeds to kill themselves, because the guilt catches up to them. Oh, and Mira falls down the stairs and breaks her neck.
You don't fucking know me, what are you talking about? My "real life" hasn't been easy either, don't talk about what you don't know. I'll complain about whatever the fuck I want.

Priceless.
The alone and Wellington endings are meh, Even though the Wellington one doesn't make a lick of sense.
Does people realise these guys could be the Saviors? The Fucking Saviors in the VIDEOGAME! With CLEMENTINE! Like, this could bring BIG things to the comic. Maybe.
no wait... the Saviors were a little far... but it's not like Telltale cares about distances... right?
I don't understand how people can say "Well Omid and Christa were killed off quick." That doesn't make any sense. Yeah I was mad that they w… moreere killed off quickly and were wasted potential and yet they were still new and 50/50 to us. Kenny and Jane were the player's Lee of Season 2 in the grand scheme of things.
Did you cry when Ben or Larry died ? No, that's because they weren't as important as Lee. If Lee got thrown out of a car and eaten, you'd be upset. If Lee used a noose on himself, you'd be upset. He was given a heroes death and that's what we expected for Kenny and Jane in this season.
I'm sorry but I have spent two games with Kenny and he is Clem's adopted uncle in my story. For him to be given a weak Nick or Luke death is absurd. I've always hated Jane and for her to be given such a poor death is absurd. She is also a major character to others.
One might say, well concentrate on the now. I disagree with that as I've watched… [view original content]
Am I the only one not bothered about Kenny or Jane's death.
Kenny was brought back because of fan service and ended up being a big part of why I didn't like much of Season Two.
We've seen Kenny for 2 whole seasons, he's probably the most exposed characters in the series, besides Clem.. I'd rather Telltale focus on a coherent story than make excuses and adjust the story just to fit them in.
My problem is the lack of actual gameplay in these episodes! Just dialogue decisions and quick-time events.. Can we actually control Javier once in a while?!
If you've "never been so disappointed in (your) fucking life" and "can't even describe how robbed, hurt, sad and disappointed (you) feel" over a video game, perhaps you should GET OUT MORE.
I had shot kenny because i felt he was wrong but couldnt bring myself to trust jane after forcing Clem to make a decision like that so she left and that in itself i felt was a powerful ending but her being alone was kind of boring.
kenny dying over bs seems true to life though. sometimes heroic people dont get to go out as such. people die all the time from stupid accidents and getting sick especially on a world where survival is precious. To me any stupid little thing could get you killed no matter who you are
Well, it's a number of little things that just sorta added up after applying a bit of fridge logic(btw, I'm gonna be using a lot of TVTropes vernacular, so you might wanna search those terms if you have trouble understanding). As I've hinted at in other topics for various reasons, Jane seemed to be a deliberate foil to Sarah in many ways and the funny thing about foils is that, while they ultimately serve to show how different two characters are from each other, there's also a tendency for them to have a lot of similarities (which also applies to Jane and Kenny). There are even few scenes that, with a number of tweaks and obvious differences, I occasionally thought you could probably get away with putting Sarah into Jane's place and still have it make some amount of sense(which is part of the reason I see Jane as a Replacement Scrappy among other things, but that's neither here nor there); it's also worth noting that, for me at least, their respective introductions seem to paint them in a vaguely similar light: weird habits, somewhat creepy behavior, and isolated from the group but ultimately becoming helpful to Clementine later in the episode.
The key thing I noticed about them that some people might've missed is that, in addition to having their problems and lifestyles throughout the Season come from a similar place, both seem to have psychological issues that cause them to behave in unusual ways when socializing and when in danger: Jane is actually a case of fridge brilliance in this regard because paying attention to some of the more extreme things she does implies that she was crazy the entire time but that she had enough control over it to be functional unless something triggers her, which is very similar to Sarah's deal. There’s also their almost immediate interest/attachment/obsession/whatever with Clementine, a weird deficiency/overabundance when it comes to empathizing with others, and symptoms pointing towards having depression, PTSD, maybe claustrophobia, and, as the flashback ultimately confirmed in the elder’s case, self-destructive/suicidal behavior.
And then there's lines like this:
Jane:Clem? Please. I did this for you! I can't do this alone...okay? Is that what you want to hear?...Clem...?
I, and a few others, took Jane’s behavior in this scene and before/during her fights with Kenny as hinting that she has little to no real motivation for keeping herself alive after so long and getting close to Clementine gave her an easy one. Part of what makes Jane’s flashback scene so horrible is that not only does it indicate that that wasn’t enough for her but it’s also kinda predictable of her archetypes: the hardcore badass that’s “too cool for school” and is something of an anti-role model encouraging someone to be “edgy” finds out that their bad habits has caught up with them in a way that they have to take responsibility—so she hangs herself. …Really? How long did that take you come up with: five minutes? While I’ve always sorta wondered how she could live with herself after all the atrocity, discord, and death she caused(Sarah, Natasha, Buricko, Luke, Kenny) or personally wrought(Jaime, Troy, Vitali, attempted with Kenny), seeing that she actually couldn’t didn’t really say add that much to her in my opinion, especially since I saw the signs of it for a while. And all it really does is show how inherently clunky the flashbacks as a whole are because, in addition to being the worst of them, it just rushes through the bullet points without giving them much time to breath and set the tone for when her walker is discovered. Seriously, it’s like @KennyshouldadiedinSeason1 wrote that script as a quick joke and someone on Telltale’s writing staff found it.
And what's especially funny to me is that I recall thinking, "I'm sure they'll try and pull something outta their ass to "redeem" her character or something," and if this was meant to do that and Rescue her from the Scrappy Heap...this didn't really do a good job of that. In fact, it's barely worth an "Alas, Poor Scrappy" because it just kinda hammers in a lot of problems I have with Jane not only as a person but as a character as well: they did everything they could to make sure as many people as possible would like her, right down to giving her a lot of superficially appealing traits, but they didn't balance out the excess of negative qualities she has by giving her enough moments to show some more intrinsically sympathetic traits and it feels like they were so afraid to make her do so for too long, so they rush through a lot of those moments and even outright ignore other perfect chances to do so that sometimes results in reasons for some to hate her, often in conjunction with some of the legitimately terrible actions(namely failing to save Sarah, who she constantly compared to her sister and tried to have killed as well, and her robbing Arvo, thereby creating the reason for pretty much everything that goes wrong in the final episode; neither of these things are really developed after a point and they're pretty much forgotten about by everyone--including Arvo himself!). In that flashback, they imply that she's suffering from survivor's guilt, some sleep deprivation, depression, and the early symptoms of pregnancy all in a very short amount of time and then the reveal of her suicide is just thrown at you, so it can be hard to properly understand why she did it beyond "Oh god, I'm pregnant. I just can't do this--I can't!" This is gonna sound very horrible of me but I legitimately fought the urge to just …bust out laughing when I saw THAT happen. I said it before numerous times in reference to things involving her and I’ll say it again: there are ways of doing this type of thing in a way that not only makes sense but isn’t tasteless on the outset. You-You You can’t just …THROW something like that at us so fast and expect us to not react a certain way.
Same. In fact, I think that's a large part of why I thought it was fine.

Oh? What made you think that?
@BroKenny@Deltino Any fan could've written a better script to handle Kenny/Jane/Wellington. Like another member mentioned, they could've easily been kidnapped by the New Frontier along with AJ and Kenny/Jane/Edith would be waiting for you at the end of the season. It would've been perfect. Imagine the reunion, and K/J/E meeting Javier and thanking him for looking out for Clem and stuff. Oh god, such a missed opportunity... How come fans can come up with better scripts than these guys?

Oh no, don't got me wrong: the idea of it is great and I personally like that they sorta touched upon an idea I had on how to develop her further. The problem is that they rush through it so fast, in a scene I personally found to be barely engaging and not very interesting to look at, that it just wastes those things for the sake of getting her death out the way as quickly as possible.
People are angry about how they handled Kenny's death, not about the fact that Telltale killed him (since it was already obvious that it was going to happen). The thing is that this character got introduced in the first episode of the first season. He has been around for four years, and they just kill him by a car crash in a three minute flashback. Both Kenny and Jane fans deserved better than what we got.

I understand that but what I'm saying is that he got enough screen time as it is.
I have more of a problem with Jane and Luke's abrupt death, because those characters had so much more to give whereas Kenny's character arc was finished, his death was fitting in Episode 5 and the fact that Telltale had him stay alive was a stupid decision in the first place.

Yeah, I agree with that. Jane definitely got the worst part. It's a shame, really, and Luke's death in No Going Back didn't make any sense. There's a lot of wasted potential.

Last thing I want in the comics is Clementine. This wouldn't be YOUR Clementine, it'd be KIRKMAN's Clementine. He'd have to ignore everything she's been through or he'd pick his own version. Keep her separate.

Well, he could do 894 versions of each comic to accommodate every choice Clem could've made, but hell, we struggled with 7 endings. Can't see that happening soon...
But main characters normally at least get a notable death, even if unexpected. It's only the redshirts who die in a random dumbshit way.
Could you imagine the fan reaction if Rick or Carl died in some random car wreck?
How about if Daryl stepped on a rusty nail and got tetanus and croaked!?
I can't think of a single death like Kenny's car wreck.
Notable deaths (notice, no car wrecks included):
Dale in the comics (Bob in the TV show) = Bitten, tainted meat ending with the hunters/Termites.
Shane tv show, killed by Rick (walker version killed by Carl); comic version = Carl kills living Shane, Rick kills walker version.
Merle in the TV show took a bunch of the Governor's men down with him, was put down by his own brother.
T-Dog (TV show) heroically saved Carol.
Tyresse (TV show) killed by a kid walker, but has all kinds of trippy flashbacks while Rick and the others went to great lengths to save him. Pretty random death, but the circumstances of it still made it memorable. It sure wasn't some random car crash. Comic book = killed by the Governor like Hershel was in the TV show.
Noah (TV show) torn to pieces by zombies inside the shopping complex because of cowardly Nicholas.
Lori, killed by her own son (Judith dies in the comics as well, but survives in the TV show).
Glenn... unpopular death, Lucilled, but definitely not just some random car wreck.
Abraham(comic)/Denise (TV show) = Dwight shoots them in the head with an arrow unexpectedly <--- this was very random, but still part of the greater story and part of the build up to All Out War.
Abraham (TV show) = took it like a champ (Lucilled).
Spencer... was shown to have guts after all.
Mika (killed by her older sister), Lizzie (Carol showed her the flowers)... parallels to how Carl offs the two boy siblings in the comics.
Hershel, killed by the Governor in both comic and TV show (different circumstances).
Andrea (TV show) tied to a chair, bitten by the Governor's henchman turned walker.
^not in a single instance are any of these deaths just random and every day like Kenny's car wreck was. Some aren't "honorable," and for this reason, I think Jane's suicide isn't totally baseless. But, Kenny's treatment in ANF is ridiculous, even for the IP.
Time and time again, main character at least get a memorable death. It might not be heroic, it might not be glorious, but it is memorable and normally has SOME bearing on the story or relation to what is happening at that moment.
Kenny's death was just TTG finding a quick way to wipe the slate clean and doing a HUGE disservice to one of the more important characters to the game.
Hell, even Sarah's death(s) in S2 (as disappointing and anti-climatic as they were depending on whether you tried to help her or not) were more meaningful and memorable than Kenny's ANF death.
HE DIES IN A FUCKING CAR CRASH, AND NOT EVEN AN ACTION PACKED ONE OR SOMETHING ... UGH
Not everyone gets an honorable death in TWD. That's just how the world works.
I honestly cared more about Kenny than I do about Rick Grimes or any of the other major characters in the IP.
Only Clem holds a higher place in my heart with regard to how much I care. Kenny comes second. Rick and Lee are tied for third.
The fact that Kenny was so broken, but still kept trying, really made him stand out to me as a unique and redeemable character. Then, they just go and throw it all away like he's unwanted baggage that they need to be rid of so Javier can shine.
Jane got treated like crap too. While there are plenty of characters in the series who commit suicide, the way they sold her death was ridiculous. It's a like a 4th grader wrote the scenarios for how to tie up the loose ends for these characters ..........
It's like Kenny's death was written by some of his most passionate haters on here or something. Opinions are opinions buddy. What got me emotional was that she was pregnant because she had sex with Luke. Great but sad connection to season 2.
They're roasting Telltale for the episode 1 flashbacks not for the whole episodes. Most are liking the episodes.

He reminds me a little of Nick from Fear the Walking Dead
@BroKenny @Deltino Any fan could've written a better script to handle Kenny/Jane/Wellington.
Was it three minutes? If that's the case, 2 of them were well utilized because his scene was easily the best of the three.
And Jane was hyped up because of fan service and ended up being a big part of why I didn't like the latter half of Season Two that much.
Agreed
Go for it.
I would have been fine with Kenny and Jane's death if their character models weren't so ugly
... Kirkman wouldn't do that... would he?
Well, he could do 894 versions of each comic to accommodate every choice Clem could've made, but hell, we struggled with 7 endings. Can't see that happening soon...
A good amount of people are defending the deaths.
Walking Dead:A New Frontier. It should be called "Walking Dead: Again, FU Fans."
Better yet, TTG will have the Whitewalkers all commit suicide because they are tired of being cold and the game will end 5 minutes after it starts.
WTG, TTG. You've done it again!
10/10 ign
Because it was the most engaging, gave us actual information on what's been going on and what the characters are up to, and it isn't as arbitrary.
who?
