From my perspective, everyone was mainly joking about it during episode two. Honestly, I don't know how I feel about Clementine being with someone in a romantic way. I also don't think that Gabe would be the right person for Clem.
I really don't see these two in any sort of romance judging how they interact with eachother. Just other characters making a judgment, which felt really cringy. If somehow this does blossom then this game will truely feel like a fan fic.
