Is Season Three worth getting right now.

I used to be a super fan of The Walking Dead Game. Played season one and season two and I was wicked active on the forums. I was thinking about rebuying season one and two (as well as Michonne if it's any good) but now I'm hearing that season three hasn't really been good. Is it even worth my purchase right now? Also, is Michonne worth it, does it carry over into season three like what 400 Days did?

  • It's hard to recommend season 3 without knowing how the next three episodes will pan out. It's really unlikely michonne saves will have an impact on the current story of season 3 though.

I would say it's worth it, in my opinion season 3 is good and I enjoy playing as Javier but some people probably don't like just because they don't see as much of clementine as they would like too

  • It's definitely worth it

  • it's good. They are just whinning because (Spoilers) ended up (spoilers). Besides that it's a pretty decent game.

  • Honestly, I think you're better of getting the previous seasons and then replaying them and then waiting for season 3 to go on sale.

  • I think there are more concerns beyond that, mainly the short length, dubious advertising and lack of consistency.

  • Personally I wouldn't, I'd wait until more episodes are released. If it gets significantly better then get it, if it gets even shorter etc then don't, either way you come out on top if you can bear to wait for a few months :)

  • A little early for an actual recommendation, but I believe this will be a good one (at least worth the price). I would say buy it, if you don’t mind the episodic system.

Most people that don’t like it at this point are complaining because things that they don’t want to happen happened or because the focus isn’t were they wanted it to be, but that’s to be expected.

And on a (very) positive side note, this one isn’t suffering from the same technical problems as Batman.

  • Save yourself the pain and suffering, and imagine that S3 is just shit fanfiction.

  • It's not worth buying in general.

  • What issues did Batman have? How much worse was it?

When I played s3 the camera froze several times as a scene continued making me unable to see facial expressions and causing me to fail QTEs, and the telltale store downloader and installer had to be started and stopped a few times before fully working

  • IF you're gonna buy it immediately, get it on iPad if you can: the second episode is free for a limited time, compared to Steam's 10% discount.

  • As far as I know, when Batman premiered, it was so broken on the PC that even if your PC's specs is above the requirements, it would be laggy as hell and I think it had troubles going fullscreen mode.

  • I'd recommend it

  • I know, I mean, the main reason why they think it's bad it's because of (Spoilers).

  • Right now you may want to hold off, especially if you were excited to see how season 2 would connect to season 3. That plus some pretty weird story choices, and very short episodes, Id wait.

  • It's worth it

  • I think it's awesome. Another forum member recently said he was almost tricked into thinking it was bad. I say you should judge it yourself.

  • I'd hold off for a bit, especially if you were thinking about rebuying and replaying the first two seasons before jumping in. The transition has been a bit extreme.

  • I had some freezing issues in episode 1 of Season 3 too.

I personally never had problems with Batman, but apparently they game had a ton of trouble running for some people. Telltale has released a patch that has the made the game alot more optimized now though.

  • It wasn’t for everyone, I know, but at some machines you could face an incredible fps drop during most of the episodes to the point it would be unplayable. I think the patch with the last episode kind of fixed it (or, at least, helped), but it would be a nice example of an “it is better to wait to buy it later” argument.

And I think I know what you are talking about. I had 1 issue with S3 where the camera and characters got stuck a the end of a scene and I could just hear them moving away for some seconds before the scene continued normally.

  • I highly recommend getting Season 3 now.

Michonne is a standalone miniseries with no connection to the previous seasons, so your choices in that game do not carry over. As for the game itself, I thought it was alright. Its their second weakest walking dead game( their weakest being 400 days)

  • Why exactly? A lot of other people are saying it is worth it, but I'd like to hear the other side.

It's not worth buying in general.

  • What exactly makes it like a shit fanfiction?

Save yourself the pain and suffering, and imagine that S3 is just shit fanfiction.

  • Wait until the season is finished at least, or wait for a sale. The first two episodes are an hour long each which is HALF the length of a episode from S1. There's simply no difficult choices in the game to make and the outcome of the S2 endings are poorly handled. Also, if you care about Clementine, she is only playable for 10 minutes and acts the same no matter how you treated her in S1 and S2. Some of the forum members said the Season started off well despite its flaws, but so did S2. The quality of the season might start going downhill as it progresses

I can tell you why: people are upset at how two of the endings of season 2 played out in the first episode via a flashback, people wanted to play as Clem but she is only playable during flashbacks, episode length didn't meet their satisfaction, not enough hubs, and "poor pacing" ( it wasn't poor but okay). Thats about the sum of the complaints, though the Kenny/Jane flashback is the dominant complaint on the forums.

  • Wait for a sale, right now there just isnt enough game content to warrent paying 5 dollars an epsisode.

  • Everyone's already telling you about S3, so let me tell you about Michonne instead: go for it. It doesn't tie into S3 at all, it's completely stand-alone, but it's still pretty good, regardless.

  • Don't forget some cringey dialogue lol

  • Based off of the polarizing reactions S3 has i would just say try it for yourself and see based off the first two episodes if you'll like it or hate it.

  • For example?

  • Nothing. They're just upset about the kenny/jane flashbacks and not being able to play as clem.

  • There's none, it's just excuses to address the season as "bad"

    For example?

  • I don't know just a few people on the forums have been saying that..
