Honestly I liked them all equally. Only flaw was the length of the episodes. The junkyard part was great because there was a lot of walking around, looking for stuff but then it was mostly just picking a water bottle and talking to 2-3 characters, would have liked more of that.

They didn't bother me as much as some people here because I always preferred the alone ending best and I always predicted something bad will happen to them in the first episode. Only thing I didn't really like in the other flashbacks was Jane's new design, ugh.
So as everyone here already knows, the first 2 episodes of twd season 3 were only about 1 hour long each which I'd a huge step down from ttg's usual episode length. My question is, if this is the new standard of quality that we should expect from the rest of the season, should we also expect less of a wait time in between episodes? I know I personally would feel pretty upset if I had to wait two or more months for an episode that lasts less then 60 minutes

I'm replaying TWD season 2, boy the episodes were long !! It was awsome !
Just played episode 3, and I think it last, at least, 90/100mn.
It's been a long time since Telltale didnt release an episode during that long.
Well maybe make it more like season 1 where we could explore areas more and chat to the other people so we could find out more information about them and form stronger relationships with them if we wanted to.
Yes, and Season 3 is even shorter in comparison. Some people even go as far as to say that S1E4 on it's own was bigger than Ties That Bind in it's entirety.
I think the shock of the flashbacks is wearing off...I still have no idea why those character models in the flashbacks are such ass...especially when you look at Javier and Clem and Kate and Tripp(Man God of the golden beard) It just is...startling.

It was compared to S1, when I could play for a good two hours or more each episode. Then it was 90 minutes in S2. Now it's one hourish. Stay tuned for S4 when each episode is half an hour.
(This probably sounds more annoyed than I mean it to lol. I'm actually mostly fine with the length since we got two episodes at once. Future episodes will probably be closer to 90 minutes anyway)
Do any of you awesome moderators happen to know why it's only twd that seems to be getting shorter and shorter while the other franchises episodes are still around the standard 90 min? Running out of ideas perhaps?
Mods aren't Telltale staff so they can't answer for them y'know.
And I'm pretty sure it's just those two episodes, so they released two at once to not leave players unsatisfied. It's not because they "ran out of ideas".

I know they are not nor do they have contact with the devs themselves but they clearly have access to privileged information like the time between released episodes as mentioned above so I just wanted to see if they could shine some light on that as well. I figured it was likely they were only short because of the dual release, and I hope that is the case.

I am so confused as to when the game is taking place.
Okay so The Walking Dead ends 2 months and a week into the apocalypse, it seems.
Season 2 picks up 16 months later, making it at least Year 2 for the apocalypse and Clementine is 11.
Clementine is now 13, but it takes place after All Out War, but that doesn't make sense if Jesus is here in old attire unless it's taking place during the two year timeskip? But if that's so then how is it year 4 and how is Clementine 13? Unless maybe it's taking place 2 years after All Out War but just before Jesus reappears and has changed his entire attire, implying the attire change was just quick and he went around dressed similarly until then. I think that makes sense, but I'm not sure.
Instead of making a whole new thread about it, I wanted to post about how I'm feeling about S3 after a few days.
At first, I was a bit pissed at some of the decisions Telltale made. Things they did. Like Kenny/Jane and what such. But after a few days, I've started to mellow a bit, and honestly, I'm starting to enjoy S3.
I still don't think it has hit its stride just yet, but I think it'll get there. Part of me can't forgive how they handled Kenny/Jane (much like how I can't forgive the show's S6 cliffhanger), but I've gotten to a point where I can accept it for what it is. And not all of them are that bad after looking at them with a clearer head.
The length could do with being improved, but I still don't think episode length is tied to an episode's quality. I thought Michonne did a pretty great job establishing its cast, and it was what, 3 1/2 hours total?
And No Time Left was 1 1/2 hours, yet that doesn't stop it from widely being considered the best episode of the series. Cry Wolf was only 1 hour long, and most people loved it and thought it was a good end to the series.
People like to scapegoat episode length as being the root cause of problems-- lack of character development and what such. And yes, to a point, that is true. Fundamentally, you're able to learn more about a character even if an episode is only 5 minutes longer. But that doesn't mean you can't establish-- and flesh out, or begin to flesh out-- a cast of characters in just over an hour. It's definitely possible. I mean shit, if a movie can do it, what's stopping a game from doing it?
The only thing that's currently irking me still is the lack of new soundtracks. There's a few here and there (when Prescott gets tear gassed, and when the intro credits play), but largely, it's made up of tracks across seasons 1 and 2. They fit, and they get the job done, but hearing the same tracks multiple times per episode starts to take me out of the moment a little bit, you know? I can understand reusing a track here or there, but when you reuse 4 particular tracks on at least 4 different occasions throughout the entire episode, I think you're overdoing it.
Oh yeah, and the Kenny/Jane models. Not getting over those, either. Especially Kenny's beard. Just what and how the fuck...?
But yeah, overall, after a few days to cool down and get over the knee-jerk reactions, it's not that bad. Still don't think it's amazing, but I definitely have a higher opinion of it than I did a few days ago, so that's something.

I would GLADLY wait an extra month for a 120 minute episode any day. These 70 minute episodes are just not enough and made the 1 month wait feel absolutely pointless.
This is what im thinking. Theres no way it takes them just as long as it did to make the old 2+ hour long episodes to pump out 60 minute ones even if the graphics are better. Im hoping sniper is right and they pump out 1 per month. I honestly feel like im in the vocal minority of people that truely loved the first two episodes despite the many shortcomings. I loved the new characters and everything was paced really well. Plus Clem is great. It would be awesome if we only had to wait till the end of january for the next episode because im on the edge of my seat lol

Jane was such a tough character in season 2, I couldn't believe she would kill herself but her being pregnant must have been a step too far.
I used to hate Jane a lot but her death was bullshit. I was never happy how she died.
I agree, hoping that the other episodes are longer maybe 2 hours.
Episodes are now delivered monthly again, as they were before Season 1 of Walking Dead.
I don't care if the episode comes out in March or much later but Telltale better make it at least 90+ min long
If the episodes are longer, I'll be happy as hell.

I assume you meant to say an episode that long, then may I point to you several episodes from TFTB, GOT, MCSM and Batman.

Just another Troy Baker character (the best one, in my opinion).

Jesus will do the decoy again and lose his clothes hence the switch
I wouldn't hold my breathe on getting these episodes faster because they are shorter now
Shorter episodes mean less work = faster release
I remember when TWD episodes were 2 hours long. Good old times...
I feel like we should have a support group for people unhappy with season 3 :P

Understatement of the year.
You two are going to get in trouble! Plus Blind you cry when your little sister hits you...I do not see this fight going well for you.
I think it being 4 years into the apocalypse and being during the 2 year time skip the comics have, it makes perfect sense.
...Not if I bring out the heavy artillery!
A support group for crybabies, you suggest?
