I don't want to rally her.

  • yes i think we can relay on her. we just need to be gentle.

  • He means 'rely' already. Yeesh.

  • All of you are so fucking funny hahaahaha jokers

  • I've never seen an innocent thread going so wrong.

  • Thinking as Javi, she kept up her end of the bargain, she saved my life, she ended up being honest with me when she didn't have to. I see no reason not to trust her.

  • Lol this just an honest spelling error i was meant to put trust after really

  • See, here's the thing.

By not playing as Clementine this time around, and having her as a deuteragonist, bias tends to lead you to the wrong choices at some point.

What I'm trying to say is that with Clem being the little girl you found surviving alone on Day 1 of the apocalypse, and seeing her grow up with you the player practically raising her through it all. You'll always find yourself siding with her, no matter what. All because she's been that important to you over the years.

That's been the case with me at least. And it isn't really a question of whether or not I can rely on her, the real question is; "Will I make the right decision without bias clouding my judgement?" Because at this moment in time, I don't think I'd ever be able to turn on Clem.

  • This was good lol. I'm not sure if I can put my bias aside but I'm inclined to say yes, she could have just taken off before we got to Richmond but she chose to reveal her history and why she was leaving. There's obviously still more to her story, but I don't think she's withholding anything out of malicious intent.

  • bias tends to lead you to the wrong choices at some point.

They're not wrong if you intend on being bias towards Clem on purpose ;) I don't regret a single cherry picked choice I made.

  • I sold that little bitch down the river on my second play...those looks of betrayal sorta hurt me in the feels though.

  • Alright, alright... I'll be the nice guy and edit your post, so people can take this thread seriously.

  • It's an odd gameplay choice to put your own character into a different perspective.

We all are Clementine, having played her in the 2nd season and having sacrificed our life in the 1st for her.

We know almost everything about her, what she has been through. We know more about her than Javier does. It really doesn't make sense to judge your own character from another one's perspective.

The Clementine moments feel odd and off to me.

In the 2nd season it didn't make sense that a little girl would make all those major decisions, but now it doesn't make sense to look at her from the outside.

  • To an extent we can trust her but i 90% of players are going to play as kiss asses to Clementine regardless of what she does no matter how bad or good it is.

If i was Javier, i would trust Clementine.

    1. She could have shot you when you met. She didn't.
    2. She didnt take the candy bar if you told her its for your niece
    3. She trusted you and gave you a weapon
    4. If you chose to surrender at that whole siege thing, she shot the guy and helped you escape
    5. She told you she was a part of the New Frontier
    6. She is a child, which makes her more trustworthy in eyes of adults

Basically, i'm one of those people who killed Conrad as soon the option box was up. And i'm happy in 100% i made that decision. Because if you think about it - biased or not, it was the right thing to do. Kate was shot because of her own dumb mistake. Clementine saved your ass few times already and trusted you - she didnt have to tell you jack shit. I'm trying to put myself in a Javier's situation as hard as i can, and i still come to that same conclusions. I couldn't sell a kid to those bastards not knowing what they are gonna do to her. Even if i had to pay with a life of my close one for that decision, i still think it's the right decision.

  • I think in the situation now Clem seems unstable. I feel like she is going to do another Howes.

  • We haven't really been given any indication that she isn't trustworthy, although we don't know her story with NF very well. But generally, you behaving trusting of other characters, they do of you in TT games.

  • Yeah, it is really weird, the weirdest thing for me is having to earn "my own trust" so to speak, I was the one to decide who Clem trusts, I raised her, I decided who she is, and now I can only stand by, watching her actions, its definitely a weird choice, I hope they make another game after this one with Clem as the playable lead again, unless of course they pull some shit like killing her or making her the villain (unlikely, considering the fan outcry that would probably happen)

  • She has done everything right in the book of building trust, the only sketchy thing was taking the blame for her, and that wasnt even uncalled for, since he did pull a knife on her and Javier, but she has done nothing to seem untrustworthy so far, she didnt shoot you, let you keep the candy bar, stayed at Prescott during the siege instead of taking off like she said she would, told Javier the truth about The New Frontier, and seems to regret it, she trusted Javier with her secrets, I see no reason I shouldnt trust her
