Clementine's Determinant Scars and Her Involvement in the Season

By now anyone who's played ANF episode 1 will know that Clementine has several scars that are determinant based on player choice. While these are very interesting additions to the season, they make me wonder.

Wellington:
Gun-shot on the cheek

Kenny:
Scar on the forehead above the right eyebrow

Alone:
Finger

Jane (With/without family):
Tattoo

It makes me wonder if Telltale actually plans to kill off Clementine in this season. Those are four different renderings of Clementine that they have to do in order for continuity between episodes and endings. Each scene involving Clementine has to be done four times. Unless if my concept of Telltale's work flow is off, I think that the scars might become a small nuisance for them to keep, especially if they choose to do a season 4. Maybe some of the scars will heal, well, I think only the scar on her right cheek can do that. So at least three different versions of Clem in each scene.

Judging by how Telltale does not like determinant situations...

  • I cringe when I watch Clementine's hand get caught in the door. The sad part is that her finger looked salvageable, it looked like all it needed was a splint but I'm no doctor.

  • It also looked like four of her fingers should've been cut off, I mean, it looked like her entire hand was in there.

Why the hell didn't she just broke the glass at the back of the car with the back of the gun?

I have to say that I'm kind of worried that this could be Clem's final season. I get the feeling Telltale would love nothing more then to pull on our heartstrings and give us an emotional situation of Clem passing her hat to Aj in her final moments.
I kind of hope it doesn't happen though as Clem is really the only reason I invest in this series, I think of her as the Rick Grimes of the Telltale's Walking Dead.

But one thing is certain if this follows the Walking Dead formula, Jarvia's family are all going to die and I find it highly unlikely that both Jarvia and Clem be both standing triumphant in the end, at best one of them will have a determinate death meaning they are pretty screwed if and when season 4 arrives.

  • The reasons telltale made the only difference in each gameplay be a physical scar is because it really doesn't take work. Just switching the different model into the different gameplay takes no work. Had they made each Clem have a different personality with different dialogue, then it would have been more work. But as of now there's nothing to worry about.

  • This was what I thought after considering/seriously being worried by the implications upon release. Please be right lol

I slammed one of my fingers in a car door when I was a kid once. Seeing that definitely brought back some memories for me.

  • Ah, I had half my thumb bit by one of the biggest cockatoos you had ever see . The asshole wouldn't let go and me, being young and terrified, I pulled and ripped my arm away. Half my thumb was dangling just like Clem's. I know how Clem feels and I swore just as much as she did. Maybe more.

    I don't like birds.

  • Surprisingly they were able to save it. Sometimes I wish it weren't there though, might be better. I have permanent scaring on it (it's shaped super ugly haha). The nail isn't exactly right. Well, it's not right at all. I have permanent nerve damage so now if I touch it in a certain place a painful shock goes down my thumb into my hand. If that happens it'll be sore and throbbing for days, hurts so bad. When it's not hurting, I can't feel it at all. Like its numb. That doesn't feel good either.

Only good thing that came out of it was that now I'm ambidextrous. Was forced to use both. My handwritting is still shit though.

  • That cockatoo's living up to at least half of it's name, then.

  • It's not an illusion, it's more of a "you're fully aware they don't matter so pick and choose when to care about your choices. Trick yourself."

Can't call it an illusion anymore now

  • It's like a magician trying to do the old "saw the woman in half," except he forgot to actually hide the woman

Can't call it an illusion anymore now

  • Damn now that I realize it, I was also thrown off a trampoline when I was little and broke my forehead so I have a scar right about where Clementine has her's.

I have nasty scars on my right cheek and left arm (where TNF mark is) from running into razor wire when I was little.

I should get an AJ tattoo now to complete the full circle.

I hope not. I'm done with The Walking Dead if they off her. Javier's really interesting, but if was him left alone to continue the series narrative or somebody else, whoever, it'd feel empty without Clementine.

What I'm actually more concerned being more likely, is Clementine will inevitably lose her finger at some point if you didn't go with the alone ending.

  • Yeah...... I don't know.

Went back to the same zoo a week later. Let's just say I might have caused a cockatoo to be put down. Cue sad violin.

I might prefer that if it meant keeping her around. Honestly, I stuck with her at the junkyard because of course I'm sticking with her, having the Kenny ending I thought after completing both episodes choosing not to stay would have her replace Francine lol
