Can we take a second to appreciate Javier's lack of murder at times?

For instance, I was genuinely surprised that Javier didn't shoot Lonnie even by accident or even almost shoot Jesus. It's a nice little detail to his character and I appreciate it, I do hope this means we see Lonnie in the future.

  • You can shoot Jesus. Well, the fake Jesus. Javy still thought it was him though. All depends on the player I guess.

  • I would actually be of the opposite faction about how dumb Javier was to drop his gun after knocking out Lonnie.

In fact, I'd very much like to listen to the rationale behind that.

  • The rationale is SHIT A HUMAN FAST HIDE

Two or more guys walk in, see that you knocked out their buddy, then see you holding a gun. Bad guys promptly shoot the shit out of you. Best case scenario, you manage to shoot one of them, then get immediately smoked by the rest.

Drop the gun, and you're automatically less of a threat, which means there's a higher chance that they don't shoot the shit out of you on sight.

  • He would get shot. For one, Javier doesn't want conflict, he only did that to protect his family and he even knocked Lonnie out. Secondly, there were two guys. If Javier even raised the gun, at best he'd get one shot in and then suddenly would get blown away, leaving his family unprotected and possibly being found and then punished again.

  • I more so mean when you're struggling for the gun. Though I know Jesus is a comic-book character so "can't be killed", I'm glad Javier didn't even seem to want to kill him but just try his best not to shoot and get the gun out of his hands.

Is it really the right call though? He took a big risk on the tiny hope that he wouldn't get shot on the spot once disarmed.

While showing good faith would be fine if he was alone, he had his own family to protect here. Being captured or worse wouldn't help them either.

  • Being captured is a much better end result than being dead, and it worked out for him.
