I 100% agree. I don't see how TT is becoming lazy with this series. I mean this game had tons of hype and TT acts like everything is OK. We thought that they had learned from their mistakes from S2 and yet they repeat them and make decisions that are worse. Lol this is like Call of duty all over again. COD 4 and Walking Dead S1 were innovative and then the sequels were just money grabs that robbed the fans blind.

you know who you need? you need Jesus!

  • YOU'RE JUST LIKE ME! 100% AGREED WUTH THE REVIEW

  • What i do need is the absence of comic book characters in the game. I always prefer original characters

you know who you need? you need Jesus!

  • I would. I spent 2 seasons with this amazing little girl, just to see her getting killed off in the 2nd row? No way. No. Fucking. Way.

A lot of players would quit if Telltale kill off Clementine

  • I think one or two cameos are good, but they have "Plot Armor" like Ramsey had in game of thrones, so its not good for the story.

  • That's exactly why I don't want to see cameos. You know they have plot armour plus i would rather be invested in new original characters. Sadly telltale are so shit these days that they don't know how to write a good character, someone who we can care about like we did with Clem and Lee for example. They have just got so bad in my opinion

  • The title of the video is just pure gold.

  • Well its like with all game creating companies, the more successfull they get, the less shit they give about quality, they go for quantity because that is what makes the money for them.

Yeah, pretty much. Even the scene with [the black market guy] felt like something outta Star Wars. I'm surprised Taavia didn't show up wanting to know why she fried poor [BMG].

  • Heh. And I thought they'd die in the first five minutes of their screentime. You know, just like Omid? Heh. Yeah, glad that didn't happen. Heh....

  • And people who read the comic know he's trustworthy so there's not much tension here.

  • I think A New Frontier suffers somewhat from a touch of Mass Effect 3-itus.

By that I mean it is a game in a series that has become very popular and the developers are so keen to not alienate newcomers, that they forget the people who made the series popular in the first place.

Kenny and Jane's scenes are as they are because they didn't want to put time into extended scenes for people who would not have known them from previous seasons.

Though to be fair at least Telltale included their choices generator instead of charging for it as a separate DLC.

  • Yeah, not in the first five minutes. In the first two fucking minutes.

Well goodbye TattleTale... for 3 years I hoped you would've finally put some effort into your most popular franchise... guess I should go back and support indie games now ...

  • I certainly would.

  • Yes! You are absolutely right, they did kill A LOT of characters unnecessarily. But I don't think they want to make very long games, I think they want to keep it in s3, maximum season 4, maybe that's ehy they just kill every one they bring the same season?

I said it in an other thread and I'll say it here. The one thing the TV shows does better than the game is Character transition. A YouTuber

  • It'd be nice to have characters that survive that long tbh. In Telltale, that'd be almost impossible, I guess? Maybe Clem is gonna be one of them but who else? They all ended up missing/parting ways or dead. It's just so depressing. :(

    is this u

  • I know right? If only telltale had followed in the footsteps of the tv show of keeping season 1 characters around longer than a few episodes or only 1 season! We literally onlu have Clem left to care about now. The saddest thing about things now though is that telltale just aren't making their games anywhere near as good as they used to in my opinion. The new characters I don't care at all about so far and doubt i will. The only characters i cared about in season 2 was Clem, Kenny, Omid and Christa. None of the season 2 and 3 characters were/appealing to me and that was down to the way they wrote/are writing the characters these days which is very poor

  • One of the things I didn't see any logic in was how tf Clem fucked up and started to swerve. All she had to do was hit the break. The was no sign of a tire issue or anything to that effect to cause her to fuck up. Someone please try to explain.

  • The explanation is that telltale were just so fucking shit writing that part. She only sped up slightly and it would have been more believable if she had lost control trying to avoid a walker in the road or something? Or if one of the tyres got a sudden puncture from something in the road they went over. There was nothing that made her lose control because speeding up slightly wouldn't do that.

    Just terrible shitty writing

  • TattleTale

    TattleTale? xD
Anyway, I'm with you - TellTale needs a true competitor like Life is Strange's devs.

  • They kill too many main characters off so we are only ever left with Clem.

  • I'm with you my man - you said literally everything.

Though, might I add: Choices involving Clem just don't work. I mean look at the end stats for god's sake! (I admit I sided with Clem as well in every choice.)
I don't know what TellTale was thinking - that we were just going to betray Clem? That we were just going to not side with Clem even though we had 2 seasons with her and grew up with her?

  • I will add that the flashack characters look weird and of low quality compared to the present characters.

Jana looked more chunky and her face was ugly and Enids mouth did not move that well when she talked.

  • like Life is Strange's devs.

No... not those guys... not that cringe factor...

What they need is to just find good analysis character development and study it.

  • Just an example since I don't think there are any other developers making games like these.

  • Sorry for Jane fans? For what? I thought that suicide scene fit her pretty well, Kenny's on other hand was just downright .. funny. lol

  • I legit cried at your profile pic. ;(

  • The fact that Kenny didn't tell her to hit the breaks and ease of gently (not to mention neither of them looking at the road at high speed), is not even slightly in line with his character, who is incredibly mechanically aware, and good at vehicle maintenance and handling.

  • Yes, another reason why this scene was completely ridiculous. Seriously the writers obviously hadn't looked at Season 1 and 2.

  • Jane was never the suicidal type. She never showed any signs of this like her sister apparently did. It was out of character in my opinion.
