Thoughts on Kate x Javi? Do you entertain it?
What are your thoughts on Kate and Javi as a love interest? I don't entertain the idea at all in it. My entire family is Mexican so I kind of get the loose cannon older brother persona of David. I personally think its disrespectful to get with Kate regardless of how they split up. Maybe they think hes dead? Or maybe David pulled a pre zombie Javi and just took off. Would be a nice switch around to have Javi and David switch roles after to Zombie Apocalypse.

There was always something between Javi and Kate, even before the outbreak as we can see in the flashback of Ep 2, so It wasn't hard to forget about David.
Besides Kate and Javi have a lot of common, they make a good couple, Gabe is going to be uncomfortable in family reunion talking about how Javi is his uncle and stepdad at the same time.
I just hope that line you can say at the end of Ep 2 if you shot Conrad is something Kate mentions later:
"She means the world to me ok?, and I couldn't bear to lose her"

I'm personally not a huge fan of their relationship. Their relationship post-Apocalypse, when they thought David was dead, was more excusable I suppose but Kate already had a very keen interest in Javi before the Apocalypse.
During the scene where she's washing the dishes and she implies that she wants to cheat on David and run away with Javier, I decided to let go of her hand.

Kate is clearly a bit of a free spirit and probably should not have got married in the first place. But my Javier wasn't really having it. He was interested but it's not right.
I think Kate just fucking junkie whore, and i hope David found his balls in pants and punch her in eye.
If not, well, i just kill both of them and piss on their corpses.

I think that they make a pretty sweet couple but yeah, I somehow feel sorry for Gabe, because it must be pretty weird to have stepmother and uncle as a couple. But on the other hand Javier and Kate are already like his parents, so it fits actually.
Funny thing is that I know most of the people go with this romance, I somehow knew David's gonna show up eventually, if for nothing else his millitary training can keep him alive.
So I was nice with him in the flashbacks, and even though Kate wanted me to make a move on her, I didn't.
I hope it won't be like that David will accuse us of sleeping w Kate anyway, but I assume this is what will happen in either case because y'know

I'm not really into "Shipping" but if a story has possible romantic possibilities i usually go with them. I like romance in real life so why wouldn't i in video games? Doesn't hurt that i think Kate is one of the most attractive women in the series. As far as stealing her from David or her wanting to leave David to begin with? Eh, i give a pass to things like that if the spouse/boyfriend/girlfriend is a jerk. Can't really look down on it anyway, i'm guilty myself of going after/getting girls that already had boyfriends.
I decided immediatedly not to pursue it, although the writing does insist upon it.
I realised back when the trailers launched that David was most likely going to turn up again, and even more likely to be a antagonist or rival character, so I'm trying to play it safe for my first playthrough.

I have Javier joke around with Kate, that's it. But nothing that crosses the line, just jokes like "That's really a gun in my pocket." or "We could pull over for a minute right now." But I'd never let Javier actually do something with her if I can help it. Oh and GOOD thing I didn't because when David showed up, I was like, "Whaaaaat?"
If it was something that formed as the story went on, I might have went with it. Starting the game with a will they/wont they scenario involving characters I don't even know? Meh, doesn't help that she's pretty bland lol. I'd rather them build on our introduction with Eleanor.

I don't like Kate, period, so heck no I don't want them together. From the very beginning when she was griping about the kids I decided I would let her die if the opportunity arose.
They’re pretty cute and obviously compatible, though I’m staying wary.
I had a bad feeling that David wasn’t necessarily dead (it was neither confirmed nor denied early in episode one) so I opted to stay away from any particularly romantic options, but considered the more playful options fair game. (For the record, Kate’s reaction to Javier’s “gun in my pocket” joke was adorable.) I also suspect that David isn’t as bad as he seems, so I’d like not to fuck him over just yet.

I would've liked it but it's just going to become a plot device in episode 3 so...
I did not pursue it, but kept it as a ship tease. In my headcanon, my Javier really has feelings for her and might have been willing to have an secret affair, but doesn't act out on it because he is more mature and responsible now.
I'm into it. I really like Kate and love Javier's relationship with her.
