that i dont agree with if thats the case that should be in a spin off not in season 3 cause its not about him
or his family the seasons been aboout clem
And if you went down to give yourself up to ANF, when Francine is taken hostage, Clem saves Javi's life by shooting that woman pointing the gun at Javi's head.
Kate is taking care of the kids with Javi for 4 years, she is then shot, Telltale seems to be building a romance between Javi and Kate, whic… moreh will then causes the plot drama between Javi and David.
We cant say much about David, and who knows maybe in the end he will end up being useless, but he is the leader of the New Frontier, which I assume will be extremely important in the next episodes. We already know that he has people branded to join, and took over Richmond by what we can infer was by force.
Javier being the main character means that he is involved in almost every aspect of the story. So far the biggest thing he's done so far would appear to be killing Conrad or not, he also is basically the group leader now seeing that people follow him and listen to his ideas and plans.
Tripp is important because he was the leader of Prescott, he was the one with the rules he had in mind and is basically the second in command now, after J… [view original content]
The fact is that at the moment we do not know all that happened to her in the 2 year time skip....We know she joined the NF...we have an ide… morea why...but we have no clue how it went south...if AJ is in Richmond or somewhere else or even alive. All we know is that she needed a car and was willing to take one by force. She kills a man accidently, but he did attack her and cheated her almost getting her killed.
We know that she is untrusting of groups because of NF...she has been alone for awhile so her people skills have taken a hit.
As Javier I am inclined to side with her in the accidental killing of Eli because he did cut my face with a knife and it was a dick move selling bad bullets that coulda got Javier as well as CLem killed.
Something people may not have noticed...there are not a whole lot of children...Prescott you saw none that I could see. A bit of that is because people are only now settling down and adapting to the new r… [view original content]
for instance when clem shot that guy over the bullets...i believe javier would have started to see clem as a loose cannon or something and would not defend her at all
It was an accident. Sure, Clem was being irrational by pointing the gun at him like that, but what would Javier gain in telling the truth? Nothing. And what does he gain for covering for Clem? Well, she's the one who was going to take him back to the junkyard, so would he really risk have these people he just met detain her and do God knows what when he needed her to get back to his family? Sure, he also just met Clem, but if you don't think Javier would cover for a kid who made a mistake, then he should at least care about his family and how to get back to them.
I get where people are coming from though. So far it kind of gives the impression Clem is there just for the sake of the old fans. But there's still 3 episodes left, there are still a number of ways Telltale can make her presence have more meaning. But I don't see that as a bad thing. I mean, it's nothing new really, if we look at it, what's the point of Eleanor? She literally met Javier a few seconds ago and wants to jump in and risk her life to help him, just like that. If there isn't any twists about her, then this character doesn't make any sense to me. At least Clem is more complex than that and she agrees to help Javier in exchange for their car, which makes sense. She's with him until she gets a car, but by the time she gets one, she's been around Javier and his family for a while and maybe she just doesn't want to leave? So she gives excuses of "I'll take you back to Prescott and make sure your family is ok" so she can stick around a while longer. I don't see why that is so hard to understand. It's obvious she's conflicted about staying or going. She wants to be around people and belong to a group but she's scared to get too close and then lose everyone again. Her story is just as good as any of the other characters who are with Javier. I think people give too much importance to the fact that she is Clementine and we, as a player, know who she is. She's a person, who is helping Javier, just like the other characters.
You can't judge Clem entire character in S3 just because of one action, and that action was an accident.
Saying that Clem is a loose cannon… more because she accidentally shot the guy that just tried to kill her and you, is like saying Kenny is the devil because he yelled at us when Sarita died, or Jane is misandry because she shot Troy in the ****
Look at TWD:Michonne
Eeeh? That argument is silly, Michonne was boring as hell, I would buy S3 even without clementine.
TWDG is about Clementine
Maybe for you. For me it's about surviving zombies and people's stories.
It's true that we side with Clem because it's Clem. There hasn't been a single time that I haven't sided with her. I just can't bring myself to do it. I still miss playing as Clem, and siding with her's the closest we're gonna get. Javier's a great character and Telltale's tried their best to make us start over, but fans can't just abandon Clem. We'll stick with her till the end.
Like I said in other thread, I think TellTale did a good job with not making the options to side with Clem conflict directly with Javier's personality.
Every time he has the opportunity to side with Clem, it is possible to explain his decision in a way to makes sense for the character. Shooting Conrad to protect Gabe, staying with Clem to shoot the people who killed Mariana and try to stop them from going after the rest of your family or at least to gain them some time.
Sure, maybe the player is doing it for Clem. But at least the decisions make sense for Javi, too.
I'm also running into the Clementine issue when making decisions and not really able to see past it, but to me the problem with Clem this season is execution, not her presence in general. Obviously a controversial topic, but I'm in the, 'TWDG is Clem's story' camp and this season is like if the next season of the show suddenly 90% centered on some background character from the Hilltop with occasional appearances by Rick. Just feels like a financially motivated move to cast the widest, least lore-burdened net to draw in new players and not what serves the narrative best. They spent two seasons letting you shape this character and getting you invested, they can't just expect people to turn that off because they wanted to re-brand.
Which isn't to say that I don't like Javier or want him gone. I actually think he's working pretty well, it's just his family story that I'm struggling to care about. I just want Javi to be Clem's cool uncle or older brother, and I'm more invested in developing his relationship with Clem than with anything going on with his family. For me, the better scenario this season would've been Clem and Javi as equal protagonists, both initially on their own, running into the same trouble, having to work together and forming a bond, flashbacks to give backstory for them both, etc. I have little reason to care about anyone else at this point. Except maybe Tripp. Tripp could come with us but I'm sure he'll be dead soon.
That argument is silly, Michonne was boring as hell
On Steam reviews people were complaining about it because it didn't have Clement… moreine in it and because it wasn't S3.
For me its about surviving zombies and people's stories
If that was the Case then It would be Named "The Walking Dead Stories "instead of just The Walking Dead season whatever.
I've seen bits, but the comics mainly (Excluding The Walking Dead alien) follows Rick, Carl, Michonne instead of whole new characters. In short Rick is still the main, main character of the comics.
I agree. It's not easy for players to switch to a new PC while the old PC is still alive and it's difficult to get used to Clem as a background character. I agree that in order to make the transition easier, players should've been able to play with Clem more in the first two episodes. As it stands, we only get to play with her during the flashbacks.
The transition between Lee and Clementine was very smooth because Lee died and because we had already become invested in Clem as the deuteragonist. Unfortunately, that kind of transition was impossible because Javier's a totally new character, but a little more effort could've been made to make the hand-off better.
The secondary characters are also getting a lot less development than Season 1 and 2's. We know nothing about any of them, and most of them can be described with one sentence. Jesus looks pretty awesome, but the other characters fall into neat boxes, and aren't fleshed out e.g. Kate (adulterer and stoner), Mari (likes her headphones and candy bars) and Gabe (Ben Jr).

but...he wouldn't have gained anything from hiding the truth either?? I mean at that point Javier has the people at the junkyard...what can a little girl do for him ????????? she would have taken him back to the junkyard??? and do what?? pls..mariana still died and we had clem and tripp, what would have happened if we only had clem?? Imo, Javier would have told the truth, honestly. Because A. he doesn't know clem and B. his primary goal at that time was getting to his family, had he lied for clem that could have deterred that.

Javier doesn't know the way back to the junkyard, in case you forgot. Clem was the one who was going to take him back. So yes, he does gain by covering for Clem at that point. If he risks telling the truth, they could arrest her for God knows how long and even decide to kill her. Clem even says "the people here are not my favorite". Personally, I don't think Javier would risk that. There's no point in being a self-righteous asshole in the apocalypse. It's dangerous. And as far as I'm aware, at that point Tripp and Eleanor hadn't offered to take Javier themselves yet. So Clem is your only hope at that moment. Obviously Javier can't tell the future (and neither can people who are playing for the first time) so he wasn't thinking "oh, it's ok, Tripp/Eleanor will take me, I don't need Clem." I mean, come on....

Hm. Excluding Clem would kill the sales. She's a loved character. I personally would continue to buy TWD even without Clem but a lot of people wouldn't.
I'd say never making more choices as to whether back Clem up or back someone else up. It's obvious what's the majority gonna choose. Over 90% covered up for her, stayed with her at the junkyard and killed Conrad.
I did cover her up and shot Conrad, but Eli was an asshole anyway and I killed Conrad because of Gabe. But I'm surprised only the minority went back to Prescott with Kate. Actually, scratch that, I'm not surprised at all...
Just no more choices about Clem and it should be fine.

Nah, just Clementine. She feels so forced, its like TT added her just to stop clemdrones from complaining

Very well said, friend.
