Groups of bad guys with guns..
Anyone else getting tired of this same sort of villain? Because now we have had...
The bandits (S1)
Walters group (S2)
Carvers group (S2)
Arvos group (S2)
Randals group (Michonne game)
Group that attacks Wellington (S3)
The new frontier (S3)
Time something different I reckon!

I thought the same thing. It's time we get something new and refreshing after 2 seasons of the same bandits and bad guys
Do you want what? Zombies with guns?
It's almost like guns are an efficient and common weapon or something.
Holy shit that'd be awesome
what do you suggest?
Something creative and smart.
anything specific?
Just focus on survival and interaction. I understand there isn't much villa variety in the apocalypse but we've had over 7 groups over 3 seasons that are nearly the same with just slight differences. After 3 seasons of the same type of generic villains it's time to move on to something new. Telltale is creative enough to come up with something new
Hell no...this thread was made without any idea of what they wanted...perhaps vampires? It is the Walking dead...you are either going to have conflict with people..or walkers. People use all sorts of weapons...walkers tend to be bitey.
yeah, i kinda figured. lmao
not sure what kinda extravagant faction we're supposed to get that's different than walkers or guys with guns.
Walter's group as bad guys with guns? I seriously disagree.
I also think the group that attacked Wellington was actually the New Frontier unless it was just like a reused model or something. Doesn't really matter.
The thing is, well, it is America, there is a lot of guns. Humans are social creatures. We like groups. That is just the way it is.
Of course there is a few bad guys without guns, and a few bad guys without groups. But it really is all about groups and most have guns. It be cool to have a lone wolf stalker antagonist though.
How about a group of bad guys that exclusively use these:
Well, there was a group in the show that used nothing but knives and melee weapons
And it didn't exactly end well for them, since everyone else had guns (and superior fighting skills)
The Wolves didn't have firearms. They relied on knives & melee weapons... Also, in the show, Jesus mentions Hilltop ran out of ammo.
do the whisperers sorta count? xD
That legitimately made me laugh.
Nightmare inducing
My idea of a militant band of Girl Scouts who are being led by Lilly is sounding just like what they want....That's right @Deltino .....look at the cookies...look at them.
It would be nice to be in conflict with Alexandria..lol
Well we had cannibals, bandits,a family man who lost his family because our group stole him. An elitist society with Crawford who ended up as walkers and Carver. We saw them using mostly guns and arrows but I guess that's what is the most useful in that type of environment.
omg, that's pretty amazing lol
makes sense that it didn't go so well.
Mmm...I hope dem cookies come with milk.
Different? Like The Whisperers? :O
Sorry I meant Winston not Walter.
Look all these groups are the same pretty much and no matter how much you try to reason with them they are going to antagonise you. Its so predictable.
In S1 we had the cannibals, the stranger and then in 400 days there was Nate. It was a nice variety.
A group of Australians with boomerangs and boxing kangaroos would be great.
What do you want then? Ninja zombies according to Alvin?
There could be like psychopaths from Dead Rising...
That drive monster trucks and just trying to ran you over...
Considering how strong he is, I can believe that.
Monroe was a decent community, though!
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Seems to be an ongoing challenge with any zombie story, even going back to Dawn of the Dead. Zombies alone lose their threat and you need some humans basically doing 'bad guy' stuff to push things forward. I felt the Walking Dead comic, like the game actually, could have avoided so much if people just chilled out for a second and thought about what they were about to do.
It's probably why I prefer the wilderness survival aspects of these stories rather than the big community aspects. In the survival stuff, basic human things like hunger become huge issues (massively missed with AJ towards the end of S2 although I seem to remember there were a few good bits in S2 on this stuff) whereas the big community stuff always, always requires someone doing something really stupid to mess it up.
Just a personal opinion of course and I know everyone will have different preferences but I have felt the comic has been treading water since the very moment it introduced large communities.
The New Frontier are the ones who attack Wellington. Javi kills the guy that killed Edith in Prescott, just something i wanted to point out.
I totally agree with you on this and as for the comic I hope something destroys the communities.
So The New Frontier are just some cheap game version of The Saviours then?
Wow TellTale really do know how to suprise us with new stuff.
While I agree that it has been a little repetitive, I'll actually give TellTale a bit of a pass on this one because of the limitations of the zombie genre. What I will say though is that I wish they'd put more emphasis on the intra-group dynamics as opposed to the group vs. group conflicts, because that's where the best material comes from, imo. Stuff like choosing who to feed, the Kenny vs. Lily/Lee/everyone rivalries, what it would be like living under a regime like Crawford or Carver, how to deal with group-endangering characters, etc. all make for more engrossing and challenging content than more scenes of this group running from/shooting at this group.
Episodes with a community that lasts more than five seconds and us struggling to keep it from exploding due to internal pressures would be cool, and hopefully we'll get that with Richmond.
