I like Javi's story, yes, but hate the fact that his story is taking over the whole season and giving the actual lead charecter, clem, a side role.
But Clem isn't the lead character. They never claimed she was. They said the opposite, actually.
I'll never understand this complaint. Telltale has constantly said that Javier is the lead, but people get really angry when he gets a lot of screentime. I get they want Clem, but saying stuff like "She's the actual lead character" is just ridiculous.
Clem's time as a lead character is up. People need to accept that and move on.
The funny thing is, technically we have not even really played as her at all. In the flashbacks we literally only choose dialogue options, a… more few Q and E buttons here and there and that's it. We haven't even took control as her to explore etc. Gameplay is something (like in season 2) which has terribly lacked in Season 3 so far. Telltale have just gone so bad since Season 1 in my opinion. It really has
No need for complaint thread, youre right, her personality makes s2 useless, luckily I made her act similar in s2 anyways to how she us now, but many people had clem personalities opposite of what it is now.
I agree completely that Season 1 is overrated, but I also agree with the people that say it's a million times better than Season 3 so far. S1E1 was pretty good, S1E2 was very good. S3E1.1 and S3E1.2 don't even come close to them.
No it's not, and it's that kind of elitist attitude that causes me and several others to say that Season 1 is overrated. Is it an amazing ga… moreme, of course, one of Telltale's best, but also entirely overrated when people like you look at it like it's the Holy fucking Grail of video games.
Clementine should have joined the game a couple episodes in, maybe end of Ep2 or start of Ep3, so the rest of Javi's group could be developed better instead of everyone just jumping on the Clem train.
Some of us actually hypothesized just that not long after Season 2 concluded. We thought that if a Season 3 we to have Clem be a deuteragonist, she would show up somewhere between the end of the first episode and mid-way through the second. However, I must say that TellTale's way to introduce Clem in this season was rather interesting and unique.

Seriously what the hell is your problem? Even when i'm not talking about Kenny, you still follow me around and have something against what i say. Jeez i really pity you actually.

I am also not new and I prefer Javi over Clem and Lee.
I still think season 3's biggest flaw is having Clementine in it. It should have b… moreeen Javi only.
-People are biased towards Clem
-Clem brought those horrible flashbacks with her
-The episodes are already short. So Clem is taking away that time from the actual main character (or new characters)
There are more reasons, but I can't write the same reasons all over the time lol
Other choices:
Javier only in Season 3 - Clem gets mini DLC for her own story
Clementine only in Season 3 - Javier gets mini DLC
But yeah It's already done. So we can't change anything
(First, sorry for my English, i'm french so it's hard for me to speak properly)
All the season 1 was focused on the way we educate Clementine. In season 2 we were Clementine so we could choose even more easily what kind of person we wanted her to be.
I like Javier, I like his story and I can accept to not play as Clementine. But still, at least I want her to be the Clem I educate !!
I mean, in this game, it doesn't matter what we have taught her as Lee, it doesn't matter what choices we made her take in season 2. No matter what we did, in this season 3, Clem is the same badass, arrogant and lonely girl for everyone.
That's what is bad for me ! I understand that Telltale can't make 5 different stories for everyone. I can understand that Clem is not the main character anymore.
But at least, they could have work on Clem's personality so that she would have been like we wanted her to be.
Because this Clementine is the exact opposite of what was my Lee and what was my Clem in S2.
The cheap kills really are an embarrassment for these writers as we have just seen in the latest episode with Kenny and Jane. I think the way they killed Jane off with her suicide after finding out she was pregnant was actually done quite well and made sense, but Kenny getting killed off again and in that manner was so lazy and pathetic and an insult to the fans of the game.
It seems that TellTale's only way to conclude characters now is to kill them off so cheaply.
My sentiments exactly. I never could get why they consistently kill or M.I.A 98% of the characters and generate brand new ones every season.… more Much more impact with everything when a cast sticks around for a good while..
I often think even Lee could had stuck around with Clementine at roughly the age she is now with Kenny and maybe ski lodge group and cabin to group. And save that emotional impact death Lee had for S2 or S3 finale. You can still create a rich tale without cheap kills every episode. Comics and TV show has even accomplished that.
Well im glad you guys like the new season so far but for me the magic is gone. Season 2 was poor and season 3 is worse In my opinion and that all is due to everything that has been taken away from the way Season 1 had. They shouldn't have fixed what was never broke in the first place.
I like Javi's story, yes, but hate the fact that his story is taking over the whole season and giving the actual lead charecter, clem, a sid… moree role.

What new players? 95% of the people who buy this game are all old players.
This whole "New Players" thing is complete BS. No one looks at the number of a game and says "woah this critically-acclaimed game has 5 sequels but I'm too lazy to play them all", it goes more like "woah this critically-acclaimed game has 5 sequels, that's a lot of content! better play them from the beginning!"
But she is, since the beginning she has always been.
She was the lead character for a single season. Lee was the lead in the first.
Cool, then my time as a Telltale supporter is up. They better not bitch and moan at this game's poor sales.
This game isn't gonna sell poorly. It's quite apparent that most fans will buy anything that includes Clementine. Therefor, I can see this season being very successful.
Aside from that, this whole "Clementine is The Walking Dead" thing is really starting to get on my nerves, to be honest. No disrespect to you or anyone else who feels that way, but to see people respond to a new protagonist in this manner is just irritating, to say the least.
You're getting Clementine. She plays a large role in the story and you get to play as her every now and then. Yes, she's no longer the protagonist, but think about how that went back in Season 2. Playing as her made certain things very unrealistic, and her personality was void.
Now she's in a role similar to the one she had in Season 1. A supporting character with a neat personality. A character you can actually care about and worry for.
I think she's much better suited for a role like this, personally.
"But Clem isn't the lead character. They never claimed she was. They said the opposite, actually."

Dude, NONE of the choices really matter. All they really do is change dialogue, attitude and possibly a minor bit of plot. But that's okay because each season is its own story.
me too, i felt like clem started slowly losing emotion (almost becoming like jane) while i think Javi has a really nice personality, that fi… morets in the story better (about his brother and all) clem lost everything there wouldnt be anything to play. plus shes a teenager so we know how the choices would look like already. btw not a new player, just to clear that up.
This game can work, I feel like it would be interesting to have this game focus on seeing Clementine from the outside, and then they could make season 4 when she is like 14 or 15, or even 16 years old, and then have her be the playable character again, it could be a really good stepping stone for another game with Clem in the lead, but at the same time, Telltale could fuck it up majorly, also I would love to see longer episodes
I am one of those people that agree, that The Walking Dead is mostly Clementines story, at least, she is what has kept me interested in this game, and I dont think I would play a game without her
I don't hate playing as Javier but I would have preferred Clem. All I know is this season feels really off . Season 1 had all the feels to me - the really hit you in the gut feels. Clem feels really off too - and it is not just that she is a bad ass teen now - that is to be expected for the most part - but she seems just cold now - a lot like Jane (which I never liked). And it seems like she would have known better on some things - like aiming a gun at someone even if she thought the bullets were fake and asking some complete stranger to lie for her. The only feels in this game so far to me was when Mariana was shot. To me, TT TWD game was about Clem growing up and surviving in this screwed up world and it is not about that anymore.
While I agree with you that I wish the story were more about Clem, I think that's precisely why S3 isn't titled S3. It's The Walking Dead: A New Frontier. There's nothing in the title that refers to it as S3.
no seasons 3 biggest flaw is javie and his family you dont make a new story and throw
in new characters its season 3 means continuation not… more a reboot and not a cross
over story a continuation to season 1 and 2 so it should have been a continuation
with clementine as the big focus so at best this should not even be a season 3 but
a spin off or a cross over story that is telltales biggest flaw trying to make this
as season 3 when it has nothing or no meaning to be called a season 3 cause
season 3 would of continued with clem and not what they did this is not really
continuing clems story or following the first 2 seasons storyline there fore is
a spin off or crossover not season 3 we waited 2 years and this is the best they
can come up with what a joke this has no connection to season 1 or 2 there for
cant be called season 3 at best a spin off with clem making a guest appearance
I really wish we played as Clementine more, but I do like Javi's story. I'd rather have Clem as a supporting character than her not be in the series at all. Hopefully she'll have a bigger part now that we're in the heart of the New Frontier.
I do agree that Clem's personality is a bit cynical, but many people fail to realize that she is becoming a teenager facing puberty and she has lost pretty much everything since the apocalypse. In my scenarios, Clem still has a heart but she is dealing with a lot.

I care about story and quality, and S3 is great ! =^.^=

Unfortunate way to refer ClemmyClem
She's not? Honestly, if you followed the entire story from season 1 you would know why she's that way.
Exactly. See this guy gets it^

How could you prefer Javier over Lee ? How is it possible ?
