I'm inclined to agree right now as we haven't gotten what we were promised. BUT, with that being said there is still over half the season left, so I'm not ready to say what we were told is a complete lie yet.
I'm pretty sure that they were talking about the game's content size, as in high quality assets and characters being displayed and animated all in one scene.
At this point, I highly doubt the words "Season 3 will be considerably larger than previous games" is specifically talking about the time length of each episodes.
Said that season 3 would be considerably larger than previous seasons; actually turns out to be considerably shorter than previous seasons by a significant margin.
Splits the episode 1 premiere into 2 episodes and doesn't extend the season as a whole to 6 episodes; acts like he did fans the greatest service in the world by making the premiere double the admission price while shorting us on content for the season as a whole.
Goes to Reddit to post about these amazing 47 branching starting points; absolutely nothing changes with Clem in the first two STARTING episodes except with her season 2 ending, thus losing significant credibility and respect with their fanbase and the video game community as a whole.

Maybe by "larger", he actually meant larger communities with their own rules. Basically like Carver but as a more personal story for Javier.

That's laughable considering the episodes are shorter than previous seasons and theres only five episodes like all the others.
But didn't someone recently say that they wanted players to be able to complete eps in one sitting, which suggests all eps are gonna be this short.
