The thing that stood out to me about Kenny was how he never stopped trying, and never stopped believing, and never gave up trying to do what… more he thought was right for the ones he loved. Even when he was broken, even when he had seemed to give up, even when he had been beaten to within inches of his life -- he would always find the strength inside to keep fighting for the ones he loved. It was goddamn admirable, and very sad and very real at the same time. To strive and fail is all too human and I really loved how Kenny was a flawed character that way.
He was irrational, he was a loose cannon, he was a jerk... even when you agreed with him most of the time. But, he clearly did what he did out of a sense of wanting AJ and Clem to be safe. Even in S1, if you disagree with him constantly, as long as you think of the kids and point out that Clem is your family, he will respect that about Lee.
