Let's give it up for Max

enter image description here

The nicest guy in the New Frontier so far.

  1. He's just being safe with you at the junkyard because he gave someone else the benefit of the doubt.
  2. He doesn't agree with the way Badger handled Prescott.
  3. He didn't even want the massacre at Prescott.
  4. He feels bad about what happened to Kate.
  5. He could've killed you at the junkyard or at the gates of Richmond, that shows he follows the rules.

He's the nicest asshole around.

  • Yeah, he is so dead next episode.

The fact you are forced to attack that guard at the beginning really frustrates me, I see no reason why you couldn't have just rationally talked with them. Even when you obey the guard and stay silent, he accuses you of some kind of tough guy stare, it's such artificial drama. I wanted to wait and get handcuffed, Max wasn't being unreasonable at that point.

  • The scene could have been played out two ways. One was if Javier was aggressive and the one we got. The other would be Javier getting handcuffed and led away.

And choosing the latter would have the driver not be as rude and aggressive and you have a slightly different set of dialogues.

  • A smart and practical design choice, but sadly still funnels the storytelling in an overall unsatisfying way, but definitely a good idea.

It still makes no sense that they shot a little girl over a guy escaping a truck, it is utterly ludicrous. Why on earth did they even follow up and attack these random scavengers who ran of? How did they even know the family was there at that very specific time of day? Why did this random guy who wasn't there have such a huge grudge over this family hiding underneath a random caravan that he would shoot a kid? It's so strange.

  • I mentioned it in another thread but one thing I LOVE about season 3 is how Max is written. He is one of the most believable human characters in here and I really appreciate that he's not just a generic 'bad guy'. When the characters get too cartoon villainy, I have a hard time buying them but Max is just a pretty regular guy living in a very dangerous situation.

  • I think it is implied or directly confirmed that the junkyard is an outpost for the New Frontier. Considering that they had a van, a hut filled with supplies and the fact that Clementine knew its location.

  • If what I think is going to happen is going to happen, I wouldn't mind having Max as a second-in-command. Either him or Tripp. :D

  • Something's not quite right about his face...

  • He is still scum. Crying about some pudding and some gas (even though Javier gave back the latter).
Ava (the bald woman) is the only one from TNF who seems to not-suck yet.

  • He'll be around most likely to episode 4 but does anyone know what that thing on his arm is?

  • He still started all of this shit in my game. I tried giving him back the gas, he said he was too late for that (showing that he had not so nice intentions). Then he basically forces me to lie and say that I'm alone because I can tell they're looking to take my shit. Then he cries about a few cups of pudding (wow) and goes to get handcuffs, basically forcing me to attack Lonnie because fuck that you cannot under any circumstances allow strange scavengers to tie you up.

  • I called him Statham before knowing his name

  • Badger was the one who killed Mariana, and his crew were the ones who shot Kate and took Francine hostage. It is like all the sick fucks formed a branch within the New Frontier and put Badger as a head.

  • He is a good bad guy.

  • I thought he looked a bit like Popeye the sailor man when I first saw him. Like some thought Arvo sort of resembled Harry Potter.

You bet me! I was fetching some pictures as well.

  • I think I'll let him live because he had nothing to do with Mariana's death and the fall of the Prescott.

  • A fair explanation, but still utterly an utterly ludicrous scenario and outcome.

  • He honestly doesnt seem that bad, maybe he will join us.

And then die of course, because apparently everyone needs to die the moment they get interesting.

  • When someone gets development , it means they die for shock value. Gabe hasn't had as much development yet so he is safe
