Meeting Jesus scene was awkward?

I don't know if my game glitched, but when Jesus fought me over his gun and i had to keep mashing the A button, it lasted a bit long. It felt awkward but i also laughed at it. It looked funny and sounded funny since their grunting kept getting looped over and over. Did you guys remember having to mash the button really long?

  • Lol same. Also did you know you don't have to keep mashing A, nothing will happen other than Javier struggling even more to keep the gun down and it's funny as hell.

  • They look like 2 kids fighting over a toy

  • I was like "Yeah, totally seems legit that the dude has another same set of clothes on him just to create that dummy you misinterpret as him" lol

  • FUN FACT: If you tie Jesus' hands up, three seconds later when he's walking he'll have his hands free as if you had never tied him up. Probably a glitch.

    Groans & Grunts

With all that struggling, how did the gun not go off?

  • k

Please excuse my poor photoshop skillz.

  • Fun fact: if you don't tie him up, he walks like he was tied up

  • I thought I was the only one.

It's kinda funny though to see him introduce himself as Jesus then have the camera pan to a full body shot of him walking away with his hands free and the bind around only one of his wrist.

FUN FACT: If you tie Jesus' hands up, three seconds later when he's walking he'll have his hands free as if you had never tied him up. Probably a glitch.

  • Other FUN FACT:
I noticed the grunting noise Jesus makes when you fight him is the same exact grunting noise that guy in the bar who ripped off Clementine makes when you fight him. Gotta love that copy / paste!

  • Of course, not only copy paste music/story plot/ but also character sfx!

  • Apparently, if Clementine leaves the group because you didn't go along with Conrad's plan, you can still see her in the background of one of the shots. When Javi finds Kate in the car, in the back left you can see Gabe standing outside in the background. When the shot comes back after Kate and Javi hug, Clem is standing there instead, even if she's not part of the group.

  • Not a glitch. Jesus is a master when it comes to escaping.

  • Not really.

  • Just another awful thing to criticise shudders

  • Funnily enough, they've been doing that since S1

If you drop Ben, he uses the same scream that Shawn uses when he's pinned under the tractor, which itself is just a stock scream effect

There's a point in 400 Days where Nate uses the same sounds as Yoder in Jurassic Park

And Andy makes some of the same grunts Danny does

And Carlos reuses screams that Grendel makes in TWAU

And the gurgling sounds that the one Russian dude makes after Jane stabs him are the same gurgling sounds that Matthew makes after Nick shoots him, which are originally gurgling sounds that the zombies make

And a lot more I'm forgetting. Not all of them are easy to notice, but they're all over the place in the game.

  • There's actually a few scenes in the game where you can continuously 'fail' the QTE struggles, which gets even more funny in scenes where the music doesn't loop.

If you didn't know: when you do the button mash QTEs, at the end you have to hit a final button to finish it: QQQQQQQ E, or XXXXXX O, for example. If you don't press E/O, it'll just reset the QTE, forcing you to do it again. Alternatively, just keep pressing Q/X, but don't let it finish. For example, if you take long enough fighting off the babysitter in S1, eventually the music will stop and Lee will still be struggling with her

Or one that occasionally happens in ep 2 when Andy's trying to push Lee into the fence. The idea is that the struggle is supposed to get harder and harder until the player can't keep up anymore, but sometimes it fucks up and you have to purposely fail the QTE in order for it to advance. Which results in Lee desperately trying to fight Andy... for two minutes straight

If you fail to hold the door shut in the beginning of S2 episode 2 when you went with Nick, eventually the music just ends as Clementine and Nick desperately hold the door closed

And in Michonne, you can continuously struggle with the flare gun guy, while the music just keeps going and going

Bottom line being, you can make some unintentionally ridiculous scenes by messing with the QTEs. Although there are some that you can't do this with-- in Michonne, some QTEs will just outright kill you if you don't mash the button quickly enough, regardless of your 'progress'

  • Yeah same, it was pretty funny too. At the beginning I pushed the button like I always do: fast but I don't go all "Mario Party Button Smashing" on it. After a good thirty second of not even feeling up half the circle, I set the controller down on the desk and finally went ham on it. Like, Jesus pls, don't even try to challenge me to a joystick turning qte too.
