Choosing to go into Wellington alone

Hi This contains spoilers for the new walking dead game. Intially we chose to leave Wellington with Kenny, and the flashback in the TNF game showed how Kenny died. We started a new save file, and made new choices and went into Wellington without Kenny. Without giving away too much detail, this changed the flashback in TNF game and gave the impression that he was still alive out there somewhere. Has anyone else played this ending and seen the flashback with Edith and do you believe you could still meet Kenny in TNF game?. I hope so!

  • You won't meet Kenny but there's a chance he's out there somewhere, alive and well.

  • We won't see Kenny again. I chose the Wellington ending, and I'd like to think he is alive, well and found some new purpose in his life.

It's safe to assume Kenny still dies in the Stay In Wellington ending with him dying in a car crash.

Or he lives, either way, I'm cool with it.

  • I belive Gavin Hammon (Kenny's VA) said something about Kenny ending his life with a bullet after being left alone. It was 2 years ago though so I could be wrong.

  • In a game like this, rewinding is pretty much cheating. You should stick with your original choices.

That being said, Kenny is forever unknown for Wellington people at this point. I dont see him killing himself because if he was I don't think he would accept the bag of supplies.

  • I mean, if you went with the Wellington ending you best hope you dont see Kenny, he'll get hit by a car or something.

In fact, we'd probably be driving away to safety and hit him in the road.

  • Oh my god I hope that's not true, because that is out of character.

  • It would be awesome if Kenny would be apart of the new frontier if you stayed at Wellington.

  • I can see that actually. Both Clem and Aj gone. Kenny wouldn't have any purpose to live anymore.

  • But Kenny criticized Katjaa for killing herself, it would be quite hypocritical if he killed himself.

  • In that situation. Katjaa still had Kenny, still had the rest of the group. And she gave up immediately after she lost her son.

Kenny went further than any one did. He was literally alone if you stayed at Wellington. He said you don't give up and you help the people you care about.
When he was alone, he succeeded in the latter. He was all alone. If he killed himself, he wouldn't have had given up.

Then again we don't know for sure and he might still roam around.

  • That is true, but I hope that's not the truth. I like to think after he left Clementine in Wellington, he went on to another group or better yet he ended up with the new frontier.

  • As long as he knows clem and aj are still alive he would never kill himself in character.

  • Id rather know clem and Kenny spent 2 years surviving together happily (in which they seemed like they where doing really well) rather than they never saw each other again with the wellington choice.

  • My interpretation? He escaped death so many times he would go freely into her arms.

Let's imagine this situation from Kenny's perspective. He has guarded Clem and AJ with his life and brought them safely into the gates of long awaited, almost paradisiac Wellington. His "mission" is done. Now he can rest. Quote from Kenny himself: "I thought I wanted it. Asked for it so many times." And he got what he wanted, I think peacefully, with relief.

  • Honestly? I just want to see Kenny's hat! If you went with the Wellington ending and grabbed the hat as you were leaving then where the hell is it now?

  • Id still keep with my choice

  • Hes a christian man and talks about suicide as a wrong and cowards way out. I dont see it.
