I am sure Melissa probably got that from Telltale...plus lets be honest...she looks bi-racial, though to be honest it is becoming the norm these days. In the end Clementine is a sweetheart...or a homicidal maniac if your name happens to be Eli, but I digress. I can buy her being Blasian more than strait African American and this is coming from someone with many family members who are bi-racial and black through marriage or adoption.
Well, you were shut down with good reason. Clementine is not African-Asian-American. She is just African-American; nothing more, nothing les… mores. Sure, Melissa Hutchison thinks Clem has Asian in her but all she does is voice act. A Telltale employee confirmed Clementine is black.

Some guns were reused, textures, furniture. Cabinets in Javier's house were reused. Shit ton of stuff in the kitch… moreen was reused actually. Animations were reused "batmanGM_head_lookDown_add.anm" and "batmanGM_headEyeGesture_blinkLong_add.anm." Lots of the files were taken/originated from Batman's. Batman + Zombies = The Walking Dead, lol. Trying to find/think of more. I'll edit my comment when I get some more.
So you are saying because they used gun files and other things from previous games that is bad? Are you serious? Who cares...only nitpickers who just want more things to complain about...these do not qualify as problems.

It gives some hope that they're listening, at least. I mean, almost every post on release day was carrying the official art with Javier fron… moret and center, but it's quickly changed over the last few weeks in the way they promote the series. Maybe because of the outcry, or because of the overwhelmingly one sided numbers that have sided with Clementine through the first two episodes. Melissa echoing a lot of issues fans have had with the game and the fact that the episodes are written as they go give me some hope that maybe they will rectify the issues, give Clem more of a focus and playtime, and return to what these games do best. But with so many people trying to do so much behind the scenes its gotta be a mess behind the scenes, and that still worries me a lot.
Yeah, if it's only things like furniture or other objects that too heavily focused on, it's not a problem. Reusing assets like that just means more time and energy goes into the important stuff like character models.
So you are saying because they used gun files and other things from previous games that is bad? Are you serious? Who cares...only nitpickers who just want more things to complain about...these do not qualify as problems.
You know, there's something that's really been irking me for a while. TT really pushed this Javier story hard as the focus of the season sin… morece the start of December, they've obviously removed some big scenes with Clem, and reduced her to a barely playable role. But everytime I see the official TT accounts posting on social media about ANF being available or the accolades it receives, nearly every single picture they attach features either Clementine alone, or as the focus of the shot. It's like even they don't know who's game this is.
You guys always say things are a big mess when they don't go your way. This is why official message boards are on the way out. Just a magnet for the vocal minority to bitch.
Melissa, bless her talented heart, has no idea about the inner workings of TT nor the games' production, other than the part where she goes into a booth for a day or two to record lines. This is not confirmation of anything.
Don't you just hate when someone working with the company confirms things are as big of a mess as most fans suspected they were? SAY MORE HAPPY THINGS FOREVER!
I agree with her in a way. Putting so much effort into voice acting and putting the right emotion into lines just to rewrite the whole thing and scrap your hard work instantly.
After listening to the full thing...I have to say...she was not down on it as much as some people here made it out to be. The rewrites and such are annoying and the tossing out VO sessions seems to point to the tone they want to set. And while character building and more Clementine as well as longer stories...she did not sound as gloomy as @Dont_Look_Back makes it out. I share Melissa's shock at the length and I want a return to character building and I want time to enjoy the hubs...I dunno. Yeah something is up with the writing if they are scraping some cool scenes. I guess we will have to wait and see.
I suppose social media is too, since there's been plenty of bitching on almost every post. It must just eat you up inside that it isn't just the "vocal minority" fans on a message board complaining about the various things wrong with the first two mini-episodes. Kinda like it turned out it wasn't just the "vocal minority" fans complaining about ME3s ending lol

Look someone has to get blamed for that Kenny/Jane fight....not saying it was forced...but I am saying that the motivations and situations that caused that fight were horribly thought out...almost laughably so. So the writer or writers who came up with that gem need dragged through the mud.
Yeah, from the sounds of it, it isn't the actual developers at Telltale that are the problem-- it's the management.
People getting shuffl… moreed from project to project, strict deadlines, random rewrites out the wazoo, underwhelming pay, and the list goes on.
Like, a lot of people throw flak at the writers for S2, but is it really their fault, when you think about it? If they're being constantly shuffled between games, given a short amount of time to plan out a story, let alone write it, then possibly getting told to rewrite an episode half-way through, can you really blame them for the episodes not turning out well? They're doing what they can, but you can only get so far when you're getting told to do this one minute, do something else the next, and rewrite that the next. That'd be tough enough on just one writer... but an actual team of them, all expected to know what each of them are thinking when they're being juggled all over the place? It's a miracle the stories even come out as coherent as they do, if you ask me.

The supposably cut content could still appear in later episodes, though. Because IF Telltale wants to do monthly releases, they obviously have to pre-produce a lot of the game. So it could be, that Melissa didn't know this and thought, that her lines were part of Episode 1 and 2, but in reality, they were part of Episode 4 or 5. Also, if Telltale produces in advance, they probably don't give the Voice actors the Scripts in the order, that the episodes releases. They probably let them read a line from Episode 3, then from Episode 5 etc.
Especially the flashbacks, that she described, hint at it. And i think we all know, that Ava is probably this "carver-esque" character.

I only typed what she said. Not my fault it's hard to display emotion through text. Gloomy or not, she still said it. I even tried to made it clear that the things she said were her opinions.

Yes you said shocking...but I tend to lump it in that in your opinion that shocking is another way of saying bad. Using assets like that is not new in the world of gaming...if you did not intend to lump the reuse of those assets as bad then why mention it? And I am not trying to pick a fight with you...you know I respect you...but whether it was your intention or not...that's how it comes out.
I never said it made the game bad. Show me where I said it made the game bad.
The fact that they had over two years of development and act like they've done so much work just for half the files to be reused is what's shocking.
Everything you're saying could be true but the reason I don't think they'll be in later episodes is because there was no reason for them not to be in the first two episodes in the first place. They were incredibly short and telltale had to of known this. It's not like they were 2 hours long each already and removed it because it would have been 2 hours and 40 minutes with the extra flashbacks. So the fact that they were already short and they decided to cut it makes me think they completely removed it, not just save it for later episodes. I could be wrong but that's just my thought on the matter.

Because I felt like mentioning it? I even tried not to but three people asked me to explain which things were reused. I only gave what they asked for. People like knowing about these little things so I went ahead and let them know.
but whether it was your intention or not...that's how it comes out.
Wasn't my intention. Maybe its this profile picture making people think I'm crapping on everything haha.

Oh, no, I love Clementine and all, but before that started it was season 1s downtime and character conversations that got me into the game. I thought the first episode of ANF was good, but way too short considering its our introduction to a lot of new characters. The second, though? Not only shorter, but we get a nice scene and a extremely limited dialogue walking around Prescott, then BAM Prescott epic QTE battle. Cutscene on the road, you can talk to everyone one time with no conversation options in the tow truck area BAM epic QTE zombie battle horde. Another cutscene then BAM epic tunnel QTE. Short walk to Richmond, end episode. Shorter than the first, barely any downtime or branching conversations. Short and action packed, I wasn't really feeling it.

Thanks! It doesn't seem to be anything I would notice, so I guess I'm fine with these re-uses, especially when it comes to re-using animations.

The truth is voice actors can sometimes be an unreliable source of information that may not know certain story elements and more.
May I ask: what is it that these games do best by your account?
Yeah, if it's only things like furniture or other objects that too heavily focused on, it's not a problem. Reusing assets like that just means more time and energy goes into the important stuff like character models.
Carver-esque.
Kids today, smh.
The episodes were great, btw.
It is almost like they are still riding on the coattails of season 1 and the amazing and passionate team that they had back then.

Easily character building and development.
And? Who cares what people on tumblr think.
That's show biz. Happens all the time, on both great and terrible things.
Apparently so can CEOs.

I found leaked security footage from Telltale
Can't believe I am starting this
She looks like she has to go real bad but all the restrooms are pay toilets and she is short a quarter.
I do.
It wasn't just one or two people, it was a majority of the tag at the time.
It took a lot to get people to understand she was black.
I'm not bothered by it, honestly didn't notice the things mentioned. It's not like seeing that backpack of Clem's retextured and reused over and over again XD
Okay, I misread that as Clementine being in the focus being the return to what these games do best.

Yeah, i actually don't really believe in it either, but I secretly hope that they're true.
