Based on the flashbacks in season 3, do you regret your season 2 ending choice?

I played with my choice of leaving Clem in Wellington, and after seeing how that ended with the flashbacks I do say I totally stand by it. On the other hand, seeing how long Kenny lasted with Clem (AJ was around the same age as he was when he was in Wellington), I can see that I might have even chosen to leave with Kenny if I knew it would end that way.

What do y'all feel?

  • No, but I do regret buying the game.

  • Kenny to the end, no matter what. He was the last connection to Lee and the beginning of the apocalypse that she had left.

While some choose to bitch about his death, I believe that his death suited his character very well. He'll die for his family. And he did.

Also, as you said, Kenny and Clem survived just as long as the Wellington and Alone Ending, based on AJ's look. Jane, on the other hand, seemed to only be with Clem for a month or even less.

Also, I feel very sorry for those who chose to go with Jane. Her death also suited her character, in my opinion because she was a selfish hypocrite. Do anything to survive, but when you get pregnant that goes out the window? And leave a child and an infant like that? Come on now.

But yes, I'm very happy with my ending :)

  • Aw come on, we got three episodes to go, maybe you'll unregret it?

No, but I do regret buying the game.

  • Nope. Because choices already don't matter.

  • No, it was nice getting a tattoo of AJ and being able to choose his middle name.

I didn't really expect Jane to make it more than 1 hour into S3.

  • See, I never bought their 42 different starting points BS. I'm negative like that. I expected as much

  • I had chosen to stay with Kenny, I do not regret, for me it's probably the best choice.

  • Kenny got an admirable send off in comparison to Jane, it's horrific.

Seeing as it seems clear Kenny and Clem made it for a good while, I wonder whether Wellington or Kenny was the least emotionally traumatic for Clem?

At the end of the day, if that choice has no weighting further down, my curiosity ends there. I really hope we see a serious effect of this, although I'm not holding my breath.

  • Tbh going into Season 3 I expected they'd off Jane and Kenny ASAP, which is very frustrating cause like what was the actual point of keeping either of them alive previously?!

I stayed with Jane at the end of Season Two. That flashback was really tough to watch for me when we were playing through in the office almost to the point of me regretting that choice. But I dealt with it T_T

No one has confirmed anything to me personally, and my knowledge of what writers have said about S2 in interviews and stuff is probably pretty limited compared to some people on this forum (just started working at Telltale in October).

    Sorry I can't help you out :(

  • They steal all your food if you let them stay. You made the right choice.

    no.... I'm a monster

  • I'm pretty glad my Clem left alone with AJ. I can pretend Jane is still alive and maybe she had the child instead of killing herself.

Since I shot Kenny, the other option would be leaving with Jane, and I would be very upset with that scene. I almost wish she would have waited to give birth to Luke's child before killing herself. Yes, that would leave Clem with two kids to take care of, which sucks, but... It was all that was left of Luke, you know? And now it's gone forever with Jane. I know it is awful to say that, but I think because Luke was the only character I really cared about, I feel worse for the baby than for Jane.

  • They also steal your food if you make them go.

One line of dialogue is changed with that choice.

    just saying.

They steal all your food if you let them stay. You made the right choice.

  • Well... might as well be rude to them if they're gonna steal your shit.

  • i didn't let the family stay either, so i guess that makes me a monster, too. muwahaha thanks for replying! :)

    no.... I'm a monster

  • Man, I totally agree and personally that was my first reaction. If that's also what Jane thought, the suicide definitely makes more sense.

I love my ending (solo ending)

  • I think I'll stick with Kenny even though I like the Wellington ending better.

  • I stuck with Kenny to the end. While I'm aware that Kenny could still be alive out there if Clem stays at Wellington, I don't regret my decision at all. Actual death scene aside, Kenny was alive and happy with Clem and AJ for another year or two if they stay together.

Although it only lasted a couple of minutes, I liked seeing Kenny happy, teaching Clem how to drive and having a relaxed conversation about their plans. While his mind would be at ease knowing he got Clem and AJ to safety, he wouldn't have that if Clem stays at Wellington.

As for the death scene itself, I was disappointed by how brief it was but it was very in-character for him, so while I wish it was longer and more emotional, I've made peace with what we got.

  • Just going to stay with Kenny, although I hated his flashback's writing, length, character model, etc, I accept it as a canon ending but a really abysmal one that screws over a very important character.

  • Over the past 4 years, I grew to love Kenny. He's a spitting image of my father actually, just more angry in this case lol.

The flashbacks weren't the best but at least Kenny's death was somewhat admirable. It was more heroic than hanging yourself in a hardware store.

But his character model was garbage and so was Jane's.

  • Kenny's death was just a really big let down, I honestly had no real emotion when he died because of how stupid it was. Clem slips on an icy road while learning to drive, he gets launched with his abysmal character model that I can't stand looking at, and in 5 mins total, he's dead. It was better than Jane's flashback, but not by too much if you ask me, I was actually having a real good sentiment and sadness at the end of season 2 with Kenny's speech at Wellington, but couldn't leave him. Then the first 5 minute flashback we get, Kenny dies in some boring, poorly written car accident killing him in a way that was unrealistic and a middle finger to long time season 1 Kenny fans.

Over the past 4 years, I grew to love Kenny. He's a spitting image of my father actually, just more angry in this case lol. The flashback

  • Hell yeah, man. Stick to your guns.

You can't rewind real life. Your canon playthrough is your canon playthrough.

In my opinion, whoever didn't like their flashback should keep it, but then make a file so that they can have it to whatever they want it to be.

Its a win/lose. You live with your mistake, but you receive a second chance by getting the better outcome on another file.

Well, his new clothes and hat are for some reason are detailed and good, but my god, the weird melted candle wax face, the playdough eye patch (they should've just stuck with the bandage version), and the painted on beard, it's just awful. I think Jane's was worse though, she looked really bad out of all the models, like when did she become all puffy and awkward looking, I mean, they could've at least spent some time on models overall, they don't look almost anything like the S2 ones.

When you chose Wellington for Kenny and AJ and are convinced pre-season that it is the worst ending, with Clementine eventually losing a finger and getting exiled...

...only to then find out that Clementine and AJ live for over a year in a relatively comfortable, stable place with the knowledge/hope that Kenny might be around surviving still.

Later find out that it's the only ending where Clementine doesn't have the "Having people is nice, but it always ends up hurting in the end" line, showing Clementine is more positive and mentally better off in this ending than others.

Wellington Ending - Best Ending and you can't convince me otherwise.

I got from season two first time jane with the famliy ending than all the ending
After I sow the flashbacks I see a good stuff and bad stuff in it all
    The good stuff:
    Kenny flashback: Driving lessons
Jane flashback:its the only flashback that clem don't get hurt in it or a scratch and she have a badass AJ tattoo and my aj have the name of my boy lee (alvin lee jr)
Alone flashback:that show me that clementine can Depends on her own with out no one to look after her
Wellington:aj is drawing and he is a great artist, and clem and aj lived a good life as kenny was hoping
    Bad stuff:
Kenny flashback: kenny's death illogical , kenny's face telltale made him so ugly
Jane flashback:the same reasons as kenny flashback
Alone: clem's finger , AJ is in a car as jane did to him WTF man the last time aj was in a car ppl, kenny got killed two times in season two and the flashback this its a new rule don't put aj in a car or you'r gonna see somrone die or someone's finger come off
Wellington: how come for a Big great community had a gaint walls armed ppl just go and fall that easy worst writing ever

Any way all the flashbacks are the same level of bad and good to me I don't have any regret about any ending i my got cus all looks the same to me i am A simple person .
    :)

  • Not really, since Clementine killing both Kenny and Jane spares her some for the eventual pain and guilt that would come from being with either one. Although that car door was fucking painful.

You wanna know what I do regret? One of the topics I made a while back was a Create Your Own Story thread to go with the Character thread and one of the pitches I made there was a story in which Clementine somehow ends up in Rotten World and comes across various characters. Since "Season 3" was kinda up in the air at the time, I just made the assumption that being dead for a few seconds meant you would end up here for the sake of a. drama, b. not sifting through the various determinant events and endings, and c. having a variety of characters for her to meet; Kenny, Jane, Sarah, and Michelle were all gonna show up in some form because of this.

The reason I regret this: Fridge Horror. With Ties That Bind Part 1 and 2 out now, Jane turning is more or less canon while Kenny doing so is simply a high probability of 2/3. Ironically, not only does this mean that I more or less rendered my own goddamn ending non-canon to the story, but the 3 Jane endings are the most likely to be canon in the context of the story.

  • Agree very strongly with this.

And let's face it, at the end of the day all three endings will probably have no different of an effect on Clem.

  • I want to pretend the puffiness and awkward look she had going on was to symbolise the pregnancy but judging by the poorly written ending I'm probably wrong.
