Each Season seems to show the progression of civilization and the change of the environment.
Season 1: Civilization seems untouched. Nobody could expect the apocalypse has even struck. As a result a lot of the characters in Season 1 seems to be in complete denial and hold onto all the things that made people civilized like family and things.
Season 2: Suddenly people started making fortifications, attempting to use certain hardware stores and last standing buildings to try and build a functional society.
Season 3: Settlements have gotten even more advanced but are still all just mishmash of the older previous civilization parts put together. There seems to be a bit of a cosmopolitan lifestyle attempting to go on in places like Prescott. We even got some kind of Mad Max Fury Road vibe going on, The New Frontier could be seen as something like Immortan Joe's society. Season 3 is a very Mad Max feel to it.

Yeah, I noticed too that each season develops a harsher tone than the last. People become more violent, desperate, and lack a sense of trust in others. I never thought of the mad max comparisons, but i guess i can see them now.
Speaking of environments I like how now every place is overgrown with vegetation like the outskirts of Richmond. Adds a nice touch.
After 4 years of never trimming the weeds or cutting the grass? It makes sense and definitely does add a nice touch.
A topic thats not about how much season three sucks! Bless you, Sir.
Your comment kinda invokes a negative reply waiting to happen, if you want these threads to do well it's best off to just reply to the post itself.
What kind of negative reply? If people are that determined to argue, I cant help that. Im just expressing appreciation that this topic is about the actual overarching story, which we dont see much of.
But fine, yes, I agree with the OP. The game is clealry trying to show the evolution of how society would be going years into the apocalypse. I feel like they have done that with Clem's character, making her a bit more hardened, cynical, and sad. I dont know about the whole Mad Max thing, I dont think its gotten to the point where people are driving around with "blood bags" attached to their cars, but in a few more decades, I could see that happening.
I've seen people derail threads by saying the thread is positive, it's really dumb, but it does happen occasionally because someone sees it as the perfect opportunity to start it all over again.
Well, that wasn't my intention.
Is the civilisation we see in season 3 really that different to those we saw in Season 1 like Crawford? And season 2 like Howe's/wellington?
Also they go to great lengths to show how decayed the walkers are and I love it. I love seeing how they take the people and the environments as the years go.
