A moment that really sours the series for me is when Hershel's young daughters die.
It's not that children were killed, or even that they were killed violently.
It's that it was a huge full page spread with their decapitated bloody heads shoved right at the reader. I mean, shock value, amirite?
It doesn't hold up for me.
There was a guy who was paralyzed from the waist down, he had a dog, and one day he started feeling some pain - I think he described it as sharp. Anyway, despite him being paralyzed he felt pain when the dog ate his testicles.
You know, I wonder what that would be like. Imagine getting paralyzed from the neck down, and then being devoured by zombies. You'd be able … moreto see them ripping into you, but you wouldn't feel anything. And above that, you wouldn't even be able to fight back. That would be one hell of a weird feeling. Scary and weird. It'd be like some sleep paralysis shit or something.
I know Kenny wasn't technically paralyzed from the neck down, but still, it makes you think. It'd be weird to see someone being torn apart without a reaction, no pain or anything.
