Agreed. How they handle the multiple character aspect in Season Three will overshadow everything else—characters, setting, plot, dialogue, details, etc—as it is what we go with from start to finish in the forefront.
I'm excited to see all this too, but as I've mentioned, the way they shape the characters and the protagonist switching could out-weigh the positive of this game if it isn't done entirely right.
Like I said, I personally prefer Season 2. But I really think Season 3 is going to have a hard time being better than either season. The protagonist switching really irks me, and is my main problem so far.
I thought she meant that metaphorically, as in "I'm late for school again; Mrs. Moore is gonna kill me." They clearly love each other very much, as Rebecca spends a lot of time apart from him in a regretful state of mind. So, while Alvin having a violent side isn't completely off the tables(hello George), I sincerely doubt he was ever abusive. If anything, she came off as the potentially abusive one, since we literally see him sitting on a bed getting a talking-to.
At the ski lodge, Rebecca confesses to Clem that the baby is not Alvin's and she expresses the thought that Alvin will kill her if he finds … moreout. Clementine can then either agree or disagree with Rebecca or state that she doesn't really know what to say to her.
400 Days was different, it was different characters and entirely different stories each episode. TFTB was one story, two protagonists and random switching.
Ah, understandable then. If you really want a feel for what the protagonist switching could be like I suggest you look up a playthrough of TFTB. Not saying this is exactly what it'll be like in TWDG, it's just what I feel it could be like considering its want Telltale knows how to do.
In the first Season we played as Lee, a man we never met.
Listen, the hype dies as time passes but the instant it comes out, trust me, you'll want to be all over that game like dogs to raw meat. My hype is beginning to die as well but the excitement for the game's release is always gonna be there.
The thing with Lee being a stranger and also being protagonist was that it was the first season, the very beginning. Obviously it was going to be a stranger unless they adapted it directly from the comics or the series. We're now years into the series, and I don't think it was the right move to give us a stranger as a new protagonist. This game has always been about Clementine, it still is, but I don't want to see her become an annoying side character. I doubt this will happen but the thought is still there. I really believe that making Javier one of two playable characters wasn't a smart move.

We're still playing as Clementine in Season Three though, she hasn't lost the spotlight at all. She's only sharing it now.
Telltale seem to be getting a bit more ballsy with how they're approaching The Walking Dead now. I'm actually looking more forward to this than I was Season Two mainly because of how much of a drastic change it seems to be doing! We'll see how it goes but I'm pretty optimistic about it doing well.
Character switching isn't my cup of tea I suppose. I really like to immerse myself in the game and put myself in the position of the protagonist, and I feel switching characters is really going to ruin that for me.
Clementine isn't really losing the spotlight, but sharing the spotlight isn't entirely ideal for me.

I'm excited for Season 3, I just hope it makes sense chronologically and doesn't stray too far from Season 2. I don't want a repeat of Seaso… moren 2, with one familiar character having an overbearing presence, but some references to old characters and events would be nice. We need to see what happened to Kenny or Jane, not an offscreen death, and find out what became of Christa.
I respect your thoughts. I may even in a tiny tiny way agree with most of them. However, its TTG TWD and Clem is still in it! I'll take it! (don't you know they listen to us) They could'nt ignore the vocal group that hated everything about playing Clem as the sole pc. As long as she lives(and she better) I'm cool. Maybe not 100 but cool:)
I'll wait until the first episode releases before I make my own judgement. Whilst I too was worried about a second protagonist - it worked well with Tales form the Borderlands and, in my opinion, the TV Show characters appearing in Game of Thrones worked well too. It's all about how they execute things. Besides, Javier seems pretty nice...
I remember the hype of waiting for a new EP in S1 and S2 , but now, I dont even care about EP releases.
They've set a high expectation with the endings of Season 2 and the ̶f̶a̶l̶s̶e̶ advertising of choices mattering, and after that they blew their chance.
So after this premiere, I don't really care about EP 3.
I'll play it, if it's gonna be good, I might get the waiting hype again, so we'll see i guess.
Hopeful but not expecting much. I was disappointed by episode 1 and 2 and I was extremely excited and positive for S3. My wishful thinking would believe that Job J Stauffer's recent tweets are a positive indication for beneficial change
I'm fine with both as long as Clementine also has a lot of playtime, for example a 50/50 split like in Tales from the Borderlands. I don't like Javier, but I'll be fine with it if they give us more Clem.

When they announced we would be playing as Javier, I immediately didn't want to play it anymore. I've been looking forward to playing as an older Clementine, not as a man who we haven't even met.
I hear things like this a lot, and I'll never understand this sentiment. We never knew Lee either at the begining of season 1, but within a season he became an adored character. Why is it so different now? Switching protagonists each season keeps things fresh and interesting, I couldn't be happier with their decision in that regard.
You see the problem with that argument is we started the game with lee. Granted as you said we didn't know him but at the same time we STARTED the entire telltale walking dead series with lee. He was with us from the BEGINNING to the end of S1. Javier is being randomly introduced 5 installments in without any history or existence in the series. I'm not saying it's right to dislike Javier on that basis and I like Javier but that's the problem some people have with playing as Javier.

And within those barely 5 minute flashbacks we have no movement control or interactive ability with very minimal dialogue options. The cutscenes are actually longer in my opinion than the playability time.
They're lies just like these lies:
* Different Clem's
* 42 Starting Points
* HUGE episode 1 and 2... (not)
* Playable Clem (5 mins each episode is not really playable...)
There's so much more.

But it gives perspective into some of the reason. It just seems to most a very shoehorned and random introduction of a new character this late in the series. The problem I have with Javier being the main character isn't anything with Javier who like as its with telltale since to me it seems they used Javier and this spin off as justification and an excuse for making a legitimate continuation of S2. if telltale had given us early indications the series would be shifted to a new PC and a new story I would be fine with that but instead telltale made it appear S3 would continue clementine and her story being influenced by S2's choices and endings which ANF is not.

Good, but not great. Lol
I'm pump af.
To me Season 2 was meh.

That's what most people's stance on it seems to be, and that's what I assume my stance on season 3 will be.

Oh ok. I honestly had to look it up since I am unfamiliar with Borderlands outside of a gameplay video involving Tiny Tiny or Mad Moxxi.

Some of the issues that came with Season 2 is reflecting poorly off of what little I've seen so far.
I'M NOT TELLING YA'LL THAT I WAS RIGHT BUT I WAS RIGHT THEY DONE FUCKED IT UP
Well that's your opinion and it isn't fact. No need to bump your own thread to boost your ego.
Cool, now stop bumping your old thread, just screencap and post it in a relevant thread next time.

Yes. You are obviously the only one not excited about any ANF news for season 3.

Three installments in, really. The other ones themselves were self contained. And that's still not much of an excuse to me.
