Take Clem with you to Crawford or not?

I really don't know which decision is better. Crawford has a rule of no children allowed, which if the place wasn't overrun by zombies, could end up with Clem being killed, but there's the Stranger that's after Clem, and he could kidnap her while she was alone in the house. I wouldn't worry too much about Omid turning, because I think Clem would handle herself in a situation like that. Now I know none of these things happen, but I'm still not sure with what to go with, for the sake of morality. Your thoughts?

  • From a moral standpoint, I honestly don't know which is better. I'd say leaving her home would take just a little more precedence, though.

Given that we sneak into Crawford and don't just knock on their door to say hi, I don't see why we should care for their no-child rule. Caught is caught.

In my head it made sense to bring her, being able to watch her personally. Walkers are everywhere in the city and if one turns up in the house that she can't kill better it's just Omid's life. If they actually had a care for Omid's wellfare they wouldn't be leaving a kid to guard him.

At least having her there Lee can physically do his most to keep her from harm, he can't do anything when she's alone in a huge villa with a disabled guy.

  • but I'm still not sure with what to go with, for the sake of morality.

Well, I'm not certain which choice is most moral. Both Crawford and the mansion presented dangers, as you've mentioned. I suppose taking Clementine to Crawford would almost guarantee hostility, since they're sneaking in and stealing, and there's that probability of being caught. They had several people and needed a few things that were scattered throughout the place. Had it not been overrun by the dead, how could they have evaded detection.

Whereas, the stranger is still lurking, and there's only the potential at the mansion of Omid reanimating. With that said, I brought Clementine to Crawford. I'd rather her be with Lee and others who are armed and able to protect her. For me, leaving her alone wasn't worth the risk when I could directly protect her at Lee's side. The way I view it is like this: if I brought Clementine to Crawford and she died, at least I was at her side fighting for her. Had she stayed at the mansion and died, then this thought would've nagged me: she died alone when she could've been with me where I was able to defend her.

  • IMO this Crawford fun adventure is juuust a little thoughtless. The whole group basically barged inside Crawford without any preparation or reconnaissance. It's so Kenny-like spontaneous plan. What if they had been taken hostage or trapped and killed instantly? It would've been more thoughtful if they did split out; one group going in, the second waiting to come to the rescue if needed or to back out if the plan fails. They knew what Crawford people were capable of, yet went anyway.

Taking Clementine to Crawford is just dragging a little child inside headquarters of genocidal, rotten community. It does no good.

  • I've decided to make her stay at the mansion. I could go on a rant about how I think the decision I've made is right (Atleast from my POV), but I don't feel like it. I appreciate all your comments!

  • Oh, and on a sidenote: I also gave her a gun.

Don't take her, then you can shoot Molly and get rid of that cringe-worthy character

she seriously annoys me, she's literally the only character in season 1 I don't like

I think the voice actress was much more endearing as Bonnie

  • Oh, well that's not exactly why I made Clem stay, haha.

Tbh I really like Molly, shame that we didin't get more of her, but I do understand why you might not like her (Don't know why you think she's cringe-worthy though).

Everything from her ninjamaskparkourstyle to her hair to her voice to her attitude to her ice-pickaxe named "hilda".

    just cringe central.
she's like their version of Michonne, except even worse.
I think I get what they were trying to do with her, but it just doesn't work for me. When she confesses about her sister, I really don't feel sad at all.

The mask was probably there to hide Molly's gender and then suprise everyone (But who am I kidding, you could clearly see that Molly was a girl when she was masked). I wish they had used a bandana or something rather than that mask, though.

For the icepick, you can see they tried to go for that Lucille vibe, but they didin't quite get it right, although Molly naming it Hilda didin't really bother me. Other than that I really like her character!

Edit: The part with her sister certainly wasn't a heartbreaker, but it did make me feel a bit sad for her nonetheless.

  • If you hate Molly, don't bring her. If you don't, bring her.

  • Ahhh, should've taken Clem with you, I love that way a lot better.

To be fair, I got the vibe that Molly was intentionally trying to get on your nerves in a comic-booky way, while Bonnie has kinda old fashioned humility about her way of talking.

Well, I feel like Molly stuck out like a sore thumb. Just seemed so insincere and cliche. It's a good thing then that season 1 didn't have more "comic-booky" characters.

  • Which is funny considering Hershel, Glenn, and originally Lilly were in it.

  • That is kinda funny. But (at least with season 1) it felt like it had more restraint and tact than the comic did

  • You're either taking a little girl you've become responsible for into a community known to kill those whom they see unfit to survive and provide or you're leaving her on her own in a mansion with no one but a potentially dying individual.

Both options are risky, I would've preferred it if Ben could stay to look after Clementine and the group split up to ensure that Crawford was at least safe-ish for them to get the resources they required.
