Merging the comic and game series finale.

Could it be probable that Telltale games would eventually negotiate terms with Skybound and Kirkman about taking on the character Clementine when Telltale has run out of ideas for the game.. by writing her in as a new character to continue on in the comic? Are you up for or against, Clem being adopted by the comic story line and why so?

  • I hope they do,but make her story different from her story in the game. I wouldn't want the next Seasons spoiled by the comics.

I sincerely hope they don't add her in the show just to appease to fans unless they find the perfect actor with the perfect voice.

    No.

That's such a money grab move.

It's bad enough they added karate weaboo Jesus in the game.

    Just no.

  • HELL FUCKING NO. They'll definitely ruin her character

  • I think if TellTale was ever ending TWDG or if they wanted to be rid of Clem and go off on someone else's story I would much rather TT and Kirkman worked on getting Clem in the comics than leaving her unknown or dead.

  • Kirkman will definitely take in Clementine at some point, and since the franchise is his, Clem already belongs to him, so naturally he has the final say, even retconning the events of the games as he sees fit (like he did with Lilly). But I don't think the game series will end with Clementine. Maybe Javier was created so that Telltale still has someone to work with if/once they no longer have a say in Clem's story.

  • Except they've said they created Javier as season 3 is a reboot. He's there for new people to come and play with not because Clem is going anywhere.

  • Kirkman has said he is a fan of Clementine...but I think she is only for the games....unless he said something about there being a chance of her appearance.

  • Jesus is pretty frustrating to me already, just completely removes any grounding or realism from the combat encounters in one fatal swoop.

I'd have to agree with you there. I'd be interested in seeing how life in the comic would go for her. But then again she wouldn't escape Kirkman trying to kill her off. But at least he'd probably never leave her with that lazy forever unknown status cop out like TTG.

A money grab for the comic? and yeah but I know some don't like comic and game characters having brief encounters for whatever reason. But I must admit that personally.. I've enjoyed seeing Jesus in the game. Like I did when I saw Glenn and Herschel in the first game. Also some of the game's original characters are half the time just not as engaging or deep as the comic characters and fall boring and flat even if they are new game characters but that sort of falls on the writers to make them that way before killing them off in the next 45 minutes and they've only done this very well with the entire season one cast. Only new game character I've liked so far has been Tripp this season and every other new character from New Frontier (not the group but season as a whole) I'm not really crazy about finding out what happens with them, Javier included and he's protagonist.

  • Remember when we used to have to think of strategies to take down 4 walkers at a motel instead of running in and karate chopping them? I do.

I'm not saying that his OP abilities are justifiable, but there's a reason Jesus is like that. You know what? No. Actually, I am.

People like him and Negan are what I view as Top Tier survivors in The Walking Dead universe. There's a small set of people in the series who make that list. So I don't think its stupid that he can take on multiple walkers like that. Because his kind in The Walking Dead are pretty rare.

Walkers are absolutely nothing to survivors like them, and they can take on most other humans as well. They're the type of people that would easily live 10+ years in under the event of societal collapse. Survivors such as these two are basically going to be considered the founding fathers of the new world the outbreak brings. Which again, bodes a pretty minuscule list.

The stupid part is the fact that Javier and his group just so happened to come across a Top Tier survivor...

No way. Directly placing her into the hands of Kirkman would be terrible right now. Shit needs to die out in the issues first, with the Ocean Sized horde and Sherry's Backstabbing Asshole Brigade Extravaganza on the loose.

I have high hopes for the coming issues, but considering the entirety of The Whisperer War, erm...excuse me, The FILLER WAR was a sham doesn't make me too keen on her joining the books.

If your comic series went through an entire half year of being nothing but a cauldron of unexciting monotony, Clementine doesn't need to be there. Let time do its thing for a bit.

  • Eh but what's the worst that could happen?

  • I think people forgot what this game is about.

Sure it's about surviving but it's about how people are handling the end of the world, how they are trying to protect someone or themselves, how they feel until they reach their breaking point and we, the player, have to confront that.

But now it's about smashing Q & E's until the corpses drop dead and characters dying stupidly, not affecting other people in the realistic kind-of-way.

Hope she comes into the comics for a little while. What's wrong with getting more story with Clementine? Kirkman wouldn't ruin her character. He would make Clementine more bad ass like Carl, Sophia, and Lydia.

  • Why would that be bad? It's not like it's going to ruin her character. I'd love to see more Clementine.

  • I don't see what is so unrealistic about a dude well versed in martial arts kicking the asses of a bunch of decaying corpses. If anything, the fact that so many people get overpowered by walkers is way more unrealistic than that.

  • Pretty sure I could think of a few other worse fates for her than just joining the comic.

I mean both game and comic would have equal margin of error to ruin her character or kill her off in anti climactic ways. In some ways the comic has actually handled their characters better than some ways the games have dealt with their characters. Even TV is beginning to surpass the games far as development and send off.

  • Me too. Especially since it appears Javier is hijacking the spotlight from the video game anyway and it would be a far better alternative than Clem getting rubbed out altogether in the games and we have seen how TTG has a fetish of killing off great characters in the most unfulfilling ways. At least she might get some prolonged use in comic series before departing. And I think Kirkman likes Clem. Then again I guess who doesn't?

Why would that be bad? It's not like it's going to ruin her character. I'd love to see more Clementine.

Here's the frustration for me, they are in an extremely dark and damp decaying sewer complex with algae and fungus forming on the walls, he somehow manages to push his leg onto a wall with very little friction, but in less than a second, somehow switch the momentum of the kick to that leg, mysteriously being able to swap legs despite physics pushing him in the opposite direction, and still have enough physical energy with a leg he slightly moved onto the wall mid air to somehow precisely strike a moving walker in the head.

He then puts his fingers dangerously close to a walkers sharp teeth, and somehow breaking how joints works, manages to lift a 80+KG walker from behind his back, over his entire shoulder joint and into the damp water. That would absolutely damage ligaments, body muscles can't do that.

I don't quite get what you mean by top tier survivors, but I find that rather poor design and writing if that is the case.

There is a fine balance between stupidly being overwhelmed by one walker, and practical planning and attack techniques, considering the fact all of these people have very little hydration, sleep and nutrition, there is no way they can keep enough energy in their bodies for some of the dumb stuff you see here and in the comics.

There is also the fact the combat gameplay has had no improvements in all of these years, there is no puzzles, no freedom of movement, and no mechanics from other games in story oriented fight scenes, which I feel, if they put the time in, would work well. DontNod seems to be aiming for that with their new game, where it's primarily an adventure game with traditional melee combat and stealth mechanics in story moments where it suits it.
