It's Tumblr, what do you expect?
EDIT: Upon closer inspection, they saw someone being homophobic in the 'twdg' tag so they made those posts to piss them off. Typical Tumblr.
I liked that one chick from Tumblr that made a user here, and for some sick persistent reason, wanted Clem to be 100% black, because screw her Asian part.
It would be more interesting if she is asexual instead. Not only would it make her standout even more from other video game characters it would prevent her from being the victim of getting stuck in cheesy romantic subplots
Why must all strong women always be gay or some sort of extreme feminist? Can't there just be a strong woman that still is attracted to men? WTF is wrong with that.
Clem is straight in my book until proven otherwise, because that's the natural way it goes for a human being, and Clementine is one. Not being interested in a relationship at current time doesn't mean she's a-sexual or lesbian.
Why do people always make a big thing out of the sexual orientation of people in general, not only in videogames? Why is it such a big deal? xD
People are hetero, gay, lesbian, bisexual.. who cares? It's fine. What other people do in their bedrooms and who they love really isn't anyones business. And for Clementine: We don't know her orientation at all, neither should we care. It doesn't matter. If she falls in love with a boy like Gabe, fine. If she does with a girl, fine as well.
I have to say Clem being a lesb would actually be pretty interesting and to the persons who need hints for that, many times there are none. Sure, there are those cliche girls that are such hardcore tomboys that you can be sure about their sexuality. But I've seen girls that were much girlier and softer than me and were lesbians or bi. So the fact that only strong women are lesbians is also wrong. To that, only because she didn't meet a girl her age yet (except Sarah) doesn't mean that she can't be one. Possibly she could meet another girl and BOOM love happens and she will be like: Wtf just happened? So yeah, you really can't tell what gender she's into, but I think she didn't really think about that before to be sure herself.
Welp, at the end it's up on Telltale, maybe they will surprise us.
Maybe they will give us a choice of Clementine being straight or lesb or maybe not. But I have to say though alot of strong female video game characters are being lesbian. Examples: Athena and Janey from Borderlands, Max and Chloe from Life is Strange (though it's optional), Nikki Burke from Mafia 3, Philippa Eilhart from Witcher 3, etc.

My assumption would be that Telltale would introduce characters eventually that Clem could make advances towards or respond to flirtations to dependent on player choice but not ever directly state a preference. That way they could remain on the high horse of political correctness while not triggering the political incorrect. Hopeful neutrality and not givíng fuel to either camp of the extremes seems to be the route video games go with their main characters at most though.

I honestly think she could be anything: straight, gay, bi, ace or whatever... I don't think it really matters. I'm just sick of people who absolutely want her to be gay because she's a strong woman. So what? What has your fierceness to do with your orientation? By the way that's Tumblr, they always tend to talk shit.
Oh no, if she's gay then.... Oh no, lets find another person who's also gay and suddenly compare them. When the only thing they have in common is their sexual preference and nothing else, doesn't matter, they're similar.
Really, I'm tired of hearing the comparisons with Ellie and Clem saying "If clem is gay then she's Ellie." They have nothing in common. There are millions of girls on the planet who are gay just like Ellie and (who knows, maybe Clem.) Doesn't mean those millions of people are the same.
If that's the case then if Clem is straight, she's like Tess because Tess was straight. You can hear how that doesn't make any sense when flipped around, don't you?
Saying strong woman are gay is a stereotype, and up to you to believe it or not. If clem happened to gay it would be nothing but a coincidence, not discriminating.
Whether you like it or not, Jane was strong. Survived a good amount of time in the apocalypse and she's presumably straight. No one had a problem with that. Why is it a problem if it's the other way around?
Because it's trend to appease to the LGBT community and make their females strong and independent (and presumably gay). The bonus would be hatred for men.
As @Menofthe214 mentioned, many female protagonists are either gay or bisexual. Of course, many aren't. But it's made clear quite early if a woman is straight, on the other hand, it's almost all of the time left to speculation when a woman is tough/strong/whatever, what her sexual preference is, and then turns out to have some exotic sexual preference. It always carries the taste of appeasing some sort of fan base.
I don't have a problem with people being gay. I have a problem with forced orientation. Why would it be so cool for Clementine to be asexual (not saying you said you'd want that)? Next time people hope for her to be a shemale or something similar.
There was never any indication of Clementine's preference. If she turns out to be gay all of the sudden, I smell fanbase. As I said, it seems to be trend.
This really doesn't make any sense...

They're both young girls living within a zombie apocalypse who had a grown man as their guardian. The games came out within the same year of one another.
There are many similarities so don't act like im just generalizing people based on sexuality.

I definitely never saw any hints of Clem "liking Luke" except for her being an 11 yearold, and he was an adult that happened to help her when she was in need, so obviously she would like him, but not like that
she showed hints of liking Luke and, to a lesser extent, Duck, Gabe, and maybe Ben depending on how you look at it.
I didn't see any of these...
I thought she was just being nice??? Nice doesn't equal a romantic liking.
Probably because she showed hints of liking Luke and, to a lesser extent, Duck, Gabe, and maybe Ben depending on how you look at it.
In my first playtrough I also had the impression that Clem maybe had a little crush on Luke, but I have no idea where you found hints of her liking the other 3.
If that had happened while she was 14, I'd agree. But she was 11, and I doubt she had any romantic or sexual interest for that matter. That is too speculative.
And come on, I'm not even like that. I understand that sexuality is a spectrum and that it doesn't define a person. I was merely saying that there would be way too many similarities between Ellie and Clem at that point.

is that tumblr..never go there
i personally don't care what her sexuality will be.. i care about playing as her again.. gawdanggit telltale
Because Ellie from The Last of Us is a lesbian...
I dunno. That's my best guess.
Did Dva get a few IQ points shaved off in that patch too or something
Well strong female characters have to always be gay didn't you hear?
Jokes aside it's just people on the internet doing their thing. Clem could be gay, but I've seen nothing that hints to that. Same with being straight.
ugh..
I liked that one chick from Tumblr that made a user here, and for some sick persistent reason, wanted Clem to be 100% black, because screw her Asian part.
The important issues.
Btw, I love how the person bringing Sarah up as "evidence" is called coolmomsarita.
Wait... what happened...? did I miss something? What's up with this tweets or tumblr or whatever?

Kinda cliche to make strong women lesbians if you ask me. And discriminating at that. Because in turn it'd mean straight women are weak.
Actually, Sarah was 15 to Clementine's 11. Clementine can point out that discrepancy when Sarah says the same.
My assumption would be that Telltale would introduce characters eventually that Clem could make advances towards or respond to flirtations to dependent on player choice but not ever directly state a preference. Straight or gay, whatever makes her happy.
Heck, I hope she's a bisexual necrophile. Much bigger dating pool.
Lol, you're incorrigible.
I feel like if she was gay it'd be way too similar to Ellie from TLOU.
People compare the two far too much already.
Who cares...Jesus...besides...she would be bi.
Ya know, almost any posts that mention sex and clementine push my squick button.
I honestly think she could be anything: straight, gay, bi, ace or whatever... I don't think it really matters. I'm just sick of people who absolutely want her to be gay because she's a strong woman. Clementine's gay?
Cool, she's still my Clem and I don't see her differently. Doesn't change anything.
Because it's trend to appease to the LGBT community and make their females strong and independent (and presumably gay). The bonus would be hatred for men.

Okay, so look at it this way.
What if Ellie was straight in TLOU.
Then, telltale revealed that Clem is straight.
Does that mean they're suddenly similar? No one would bat an eye. Really, sexuality shouldn't be a big deal.
