What is your opinion of TV Dwight?

I think that like Rick, he is willing to do whatever it takes to keep the ones he loves safe.

And as far as his alignment with Negan, I believe that deep down he despises Negan with all his heart, but he keeps acting as his right-hand man, in order to protect his wife, as Daryl pointed out.

I believe that if it wasn't for Negan chasing them, Dwight and his wife - who's name I forget - wouldn't have even robbed Daryl of his motorcycle and crossbow - but instead would've followed him back to Alexandria.

What do you think?

Well I have never watched the TV show so....idc?

  • I like him. I haven't read the comics so I have nothing to compare him to, but I think he's an interesting character. Plus he makes a great sandwich. :p

  • I think you are probably right about all of that but I still dont forgive him.

  • Forgive him for what? Being a jerk in general or shooting you know who?

  • All of it. When people say that he is going to become a good guy and join our group, I feel the way I felt when Merle came back into the group. Its just not going to work. He did too much.

  • I get what you mean but forgiveness isn't meant to be easy. It's why I find redemption arcs so interesting. And if you think about it Rick's done some really vile things as well.

  • I wish people wouldnt do that. "Well, so and so did this." I know everything that Rick has done but Im only thinking of Dwight and how he could possibly try to ingratiate himself with the group after killing Denise, robbing, shooting and torturing Daryl, and being a part of this group of monsters who beat Glenn and Abraham to death. Im thinking from Rick's perspective, that he would have to leap miles to prove himself, and even then I wouldnt fully trust him. If he could make a full turn around, show remorse, contribute to the group, and have Rick and Daryl forgive him, maybe I could accept him. But like I said, it would take work.

  • I think he is good in one episode then he's horrible in the next

I guess you can say he's

    two-faced

    This does not exist

  • Well I only say that due to some frustrations of mine with Rick's group. A lot of the time I feel like they see these other groups as these absolute monsters but then they prove themselves to be no better. But I see what you mean. It can be a silly argument to make.

  • The character is a bitch and very little like his comic character, daryl is gonna take his post negan role most likely

  • The only questionable thing I think Rick and his group did was making themselves mercenaries to take out the Saviors, but even then the Saviors had already threatened some of their people. Rick has done some crazy things but they have always been because he is trying to protect people he cares about.

I understand Dwight kind of trying to go along to protect his wife, but he put me off with his hatred and betrayal of Daryl who had only been trying to help him. I need to see more from him to understand what he's thinking.

  • Il tell you my answer after I finish today's episode

  • I actually got to meet his actor, Austin Amelio, at Walker Stalker con one year and he was a pretty swell guy!

As far as his portrayal goes, I think it's pretty good. He definitely grew on me because the first time I saw him on the show I went "THAT'S Dwight??"

But overall I like him and hope to see more development from him.

  • Why does this guy keep getting banned

    Good.

  • Ok for right now I think he is a horrible person because of what he did to Carson

  • Badum tss

I think he is good in one episode then he's horrible in the next I guess you can say he's two-faced

  • He's one of my favorite characters of Season 7 currently.

I like the comic Dwight better. Yeah I'm a comic purist. Fight me.

But the show Dwight is slowly becoming my fav character.

  • Imwas actually starting to sympathize with him a little until Dr. Csrson.

  • Just some scrawny guy with a wife way too attractive to be with his coward ass.

  • I like him. If your wife isn't hotter than you its pretty sad.
