Talking about the recent ANF TV advertisement that played during the show yesterday...
If you haven't watched it, it's here: https://www.ispot.tv/ad/AvkC/the-walking-dead-a-new-frontier-retail-trailer
This trailer is... misleading in MY opinion. This is not a continuation, yet that narrator states "Telltale's Award Winning game series continues" - does it really continue Telltale?
Also see how Clementine is in almost every shot yet she's basically a background character in the game? Yeah...
Anyway, I'm not a fan of this trailer. That's my view of the trailer, you can tell me yours below.

Seemed pretty cool. Not sure where your getting she's in every shot when Javy still seems like the main lead.
What I meant was they still make her look like she's a main character... but she's not.
"Your choices. Your story."
That is a blatant lie in this advertisement. Our choices make NO impact on the story at ALL. And I agree, it's ridiculous that despite Clem being heavily reduced in the actual game, she is shown a lot in the trailer. The corporate reviews don't help either.
But she is a main character...She spends over half of episode 1 with Javy, also no matter how short her flashbacks they may be a background character wouldn't be classified as playable.
when Telltale's global game hit continues but it doesnt actually continue
She is undoubtedly a first-tier character.
She has had about the same relevance as the protagonist's family.
Damn, that accursed Monkey.
I agree, it doesn't even change Clementine in ANY way except a few dialogue choices and scars. Apparently scars = impact on the story.
I was actually really excited to see how Clem's personality would change based on our choices, whether she be more compassionate and willing to be in a group, or more hardened and independent. Nope, she's basically Jane regardless of our choices. I still love her, and she's still my favorite character, but I just wish our choices affected her more.
I agree with the fact that she is a first-tier character, like you said... but not the main character of this season.
She can still been in that level of character for all her importance in past seasons but, like someone remind us not so long ago, she's only in the support role.
That inevitably is going to make that her relevance drop a little.
At the end of the day that would be fine, if the plot for the main character was good.
But it's not, until now, imo...
Killing Conrad impacts the story... As well as killing him or leaving him alive, it can have a huge impact on clem's relationship with you.

The trailer looks more powerful and intense than the actual game.
But most of the trailers are so.
Seriously? This is actually happening? Honestly what aren't the people on this forum willing to complain about. This is absolutely ridiculous.
This applies to all forums. Fans are always gonna be fans.
If you call fans actively searching for things to complain about.
Yes. Yes it is happening. If you didn't like it, you shouldn't have clicked on this thread.
This thread was made for everyone to give their opinion about the trailer - this doesn't necessarily mean it has to be negative at all, hence me saying "MY" in capitals.
9.0 8.5 9.5 10/10! And yet it only scores 70% on steam, someone isn't being honest here, someone is full of shit.
I feel like this sort of trailer kind of misses the point of the game series in general. It tends to show a lot of action, a lot of shooting, but I miss when they'd focus on characters/family/story more than anything else.
On the other hand is the trailer very honest (about the quality of season 3).
The gameplay is much more "action" than in the previous seasons. And also nearly no hubs to talk to the people - so less gameplay parts.
Like Job said they are more focused on attracting a new audience than catering to the already loyal fans
I suppose it makes sense to make an action trailer if a lot of the gameplay is action. It's fun in the moment, I guess, but I miss when the game focused heavily on conversation and getting to know everyone. : /
Maybe the scores are taken from the previous seasons.
True. I understand the whole 'wanting new fans' thing, but I wish they would take a different route about getting that to happen. It seems weird to lose fans in order to gain fans.
Honestly, how can they even rate a game that has only released 2/5 seasons anyway? xd
not like we do, right? ;/
Yea, no. She's a supporting character in Javi's(there's no Y, and little effort on his VAs part pronouncing spanish) story. TT has been pretty poorly marketing the game bordering on misleading.
Exactly, they dont need to change the essence of the game just to attract a younger, more action-oriented crowd. A lot of their sales are because of the Telltale brand name, can't help but think they are set to lose more fans than they will gain.
'Your choices'
'Your story'
seriously? this is actually happening? honestly when aren't the people on this forum complaining about people complaining again. this is absolutely ridiculous
Why in the world do they want new players and made new story for them like it's season 3 who wanted to play TWD has already played it wtf
You can say about the game what you want, but it is a continuation. Just because you dont play as Clementine very often, doesnt mean it's not a continuation.
I guess its continuing in the background, but it feels really disconnected from the first two seasons, so far. Almost every tie to the previous games has been written out save possibly two, with the game choosing to focus more on unraveling the mystery of how the hell the Garcias survived more than a month.
I found the trailer to be straight up bad, specially when compared to other teasers and trailers of ANF it's basicallt clem saying "Javi" the whole thing, not to mention the misleading stuff they added in like the "save the girl" "decision"
Well jobs confirmed she is a supporting character and Javier Is the main character.
She wearing lipstick or does she just have really red lips?
I was confused with the "SAVE THE GIRL" or "ESCAPE" options. That's not even the choice in the game, and they seem to really like showing off Clementine. Makes you wonder why they didn't just make her the primary protagonist.
Because they want to do something different but don't have faith in their original material, so they're intentionally pacing the plot to include on an old character to get by on that sense of nostalgia, pandering, and fanservice.
It's so weird though, they could've just picked up the 400 Days cast and would've been off to a good start already. Telltale has built this world and they're promptly burning it to the ground.
Odd, what other character reminds you of how they're treating Clementine? What other character was added just to stoke the fires of our nostalgia? What other character took attention away from the pretty intriguing plot and hijacked the whole season?
I doubt people would flood the stores and download servers for characters like Becca or Wyatt.
Dat cash. Lure in all the old fans by who would have skipped The Walking Dead: A New Frontier as fast they skipped The Walking Dead: Michonne by making the primary draw of the game look like she plays a bigger part than she actually does, and pray that not making it a numbered game draws in a bunch of new fans. First part worked, left people kinda ticked though. Dunno about the second part, seeing how one sided major choices were.
