Why there are no zombie kids?

So... there are 16 Walking Dead episodes (S1, 400 Days, S2, Michonne, ANF) so far and the only zombie kid that we saw is Fivel in episode 4 just to make Kenny feel depressed. We never saw Duck as a walker. Sarah was devoured. Mariana got shot in the head. And Clementine, Gabe and AJ (maybe) are alive.

Why Telltale does not make zombie kids in this series? I mean, It seems like there are no other kids that have died during the zombie outbreak and thats a little ilogical.

In the series and the comics I dont remember any zombie kid besides Sophia and Noah's brother (TV) and Duane (comic).

What's the problem with the zombie kids?

  • Isn't Rick's first encounter with a walker a little girl he thinks at first is a survivor?

  • I'm pretty sure that is not allowed.
for the same reason there are no kids in gta games.

  • Oh yes, I have forgotten about that.

  • In some countries its illegal to kill kids in games so its easier to just not bother with them

  • The kids plotted that Virus against the adults and are somewhere safe confirmed - IT'S CON-FIRM-ED GUYS this is canon now!

  • Because that would be sick and wrong. Also remember that kids have less mass to 'em, so yeah.

Because this game believes that the majority ,that died, are just people in/over their twenties for some reason...

I think the better question is; why haven't we seen any senior zombies?

  • We have, you just can't tell cause they're almost dead.

  • This isn't Romero's world it's second rate Kirkmans , so no zombie kids! xD ... Plus ..it's probably harder work for telltale to design more walkers , so let's not hinder them

There are no fat walkers either every walker is fit af

  • I mean, we have seen fat walkers before and to be fair, it is 2-4 years into the apocalypse in The Walking Dead: Season Two-A New Frontier, their bodies would mostly decompose and so they'd be pretty thin and skeletal looking. They're dead.

I'd imagine it's because zombie kids would be less of threat, in terms of strength and lethality, for the characters. And perhaps some overly sensitive people will take offence for god knows what reason. Whatever the reason, though, I do think they should add a few here and there. Zombie kids are a lot creepier than just normal ones.

  • In all honesty, the reason why there aren't more on the tv show would likely be due to the strenuous nature it would be on child actors. It has been done, but the make up process for some of these costumes takes hours. Afterwards, they might have longer periods filming depending on what they needed the undead for that episode. Child actors do have working restrictions that would make it difficult to have them in more than a brief cameo appearance scene whereas they can use adult extras for several scenes in one episode.

For story purposes, there wouldn't be much if anything left of a small child if a group of zombies feasted. ( A child caught alone would likely fall under this fate. ) Children with parents that were bitten may have buried the child before they could reanimate. ( The process wasn't always quick. ) Due to their size, the weight of the dirt might've been too much for them to move their limbs and free themselves to the surface. Once it was known what it took to ensure that someone did not reanimate, parents would likely see to it that their child could rest in peace after suffering illness and death. That would account for the reasoning why we've seen so few children.

  • Because this is the scariest thing about Zombieland.

  • Meh, I don't think many other people would care for zombie kids. It's the BIG zombies people have to worry about. You don't see many zombie kids in The Walking Dead show, either!

  • Multiple reasons I guess, possibly making things easier on Telltale. Violence against children in video games is a touchy subject and we really only see it towards the zombie child in ep. 4 and Duck (he was zombie-ish), but it was very well handled. Also creating zombie children would require a story to be written for them to be there (since they stand out so much) and creating the character models/audio for em. Stuff like this needs to be taken into consideration and it's just easier to cut and paste the same zombie we killed 10x over.

  • There's a game over screen in Long Road Ahead that involves being killed by a walker Duck.

  • There is a zombie kid in the walking dead season one look a lot like duck in the house in savanah

  • Fivel: he starved/dishydrated.

God his parents must really have hated him.

  • There's a zombie kid on the last page of the newest trade, walking in a herd. Sadly I think alot of the parents might have killed their kids and themselves when they realized how bad it was.

  • Maybe AJ isn't gonna die after all?

  • In Season 1, one of the default walkers is fat af. Most of the walkers in Season 3 died in the beginning of the apocalypse/over four years ago. Any fat they may have had would probably have rotted away by then (though I'm no expert).

  • Actually, there's a zombie kid in Ep3. His name is Drew.

  • Hence why I bumped the thread but didn't say anything. Spoilers, dude!

  • its not that its illegal to kill children in games, its because its depressing and people dont ant to think about that kind of stuff. Like in season 1, kenny was so sad about the boy in the attic.

  • Well it is depressing for one...secondly...children do not have the strides that adults do...I submit that child walkers die out just because they are slower and cannot keep up with herds or prey due to the length of their strides.

  • I know he's a minor thing in the context of the story but it's still a relatively specific spoiler from an officially unreleased episode.

In a lot of action/scifi movies/games, there are groups of small enemies against one normal sized char.

For example the small dinosaurs in Jurassic Park or in Avatar there are these black dogs/cats of prey mixture creatures against Jake, or in TWAU all these transformed Bloody Mary clones against Bigby as Wolf and there are plenty more examples.

Would be fun to see a herd of Zombie kids in the TWD universe.

  • I think a significant issue to take into account there is the fact that all walkers need is one bite to kill you eventually. Having numerous ones who can more a lot more nimbly than the others would be a gamebreaker.

Good point, so it's a good way, to kill a char actually.

Getting eaten by a group of Zombie kids..

No, I think it could be a fun fight, the most would survive somehow.

Oooh actually in the TWD TV series, there were these 2 Zombiekids who burnt and ended up in molten glass.

Yea, they already were teens at that point, but lastly seen as kids and it were only 2 and not a fighting scene, but still shows how "disturbing" it is, someone getting eaten by Zombiekids..

  • The reason why zombie kids are so rare is because they go to a zombie schools. The role of parents, adult zombies, is to provide food / create new zombies, so we do encounter them more often.

  • Ah, so they're like birds!
