  • For the sake of my sanity, I hope ANF will be the last "season" for TWD.

  • ya know if you want to keep good feelings about this series you should probably hope they don't touch twd after this season

  • I agree, Telltale should just stop reading these comments and just keep plugging away. Good luck, TTG!

  • So ignore the fanbase? That's already what they are doing and it's bloody annoying.

  • Well, I hope they do too, for fans like yourself.

This fanbase? You really think they've gotten to where they're at because they've been ignoring their fanbase?! This forum is populated with both cynics and critics bombarding TTG with messages that they're horrible, how they need to be fixed, and how they should be working ON THAT FLIPPING SECOND SEASON OF THE WOLF AMONG US. I'd sooner believe that the "critics" of these forums are driving the writers to doubt themselves and try to tightrope their projects than to think that they don't listen to their fan community. Yes, they're a company that struggles to figure out how the heck they should run, because everything that they have become started from a shot in the dark- a shot that I don't know whether or not they really expected to connect... but it did, and now they're being forced to grow at an unnatural rate and meet demands of a AAA audience- an audience that probably feels they deserve better for their loyalty, when a lot of the time they just won't stop complaining. That's why I'm saying they should stop paying attention to the forums, because as much as I'd love to see them gauge the mindsets of players and act accordingly, I don't want them to be run by the whims of the internet- even on their own website. Maybe I'll encourage TTG to listen when their fans stop believing they have some sort of point to make that they haven't made already with their "TWD is dead" "this new series is stupid" "TTG no longer has talent" filler that plagues and corrupts webpages like a cancer.

So ignore the fanbase? That's already what they are doing and it's bloody annoying.

  • If we don't criticize Telltale, then how else are they going to get better? All of this could of been avoided or atleast most of it could have be avoided if they have listened to what we have said over two years ago. Telltale is literally repeating the same mistakes from S2 but worse. So they had all of this coming and People ask for The Wolf Among Us S2 is because they love the series so much they want to see it continue.

  • Plz telltale stop milking TWD and buy it to someone knows how to write a good story like naughtydog.

  • ANF is what you get when you listen to your fanbase . They got what they asked for.

  • Do you even think about what you say before you say it? We toootally asked for Kenny and Jane choices to not matter, we asked for short episodes, we asked for unbalanced time b/w Clem and Javier, we asked for choices not to matter? You really think we asked for that? Where the hell are you getting this info?

  • And what about Job's statement that we're a minority? That alone already proves that Telltale does not give a shit what's going on on their own forums, let alone let themselves get pressured into anything. In fact, we just waited three months for an episode in a "tight schedule" Season. Sure, shit happens, but no communication at all with the fanbase is a rarely stupid thing to do for a company such as Telltale.

And they aren't run by the whims of the internet (whatever that means), because they just shut out every kind of criticism, no matter how good it is.

Your view of the people that hate A New Frontier seems to be that of some "rebels" or hipsters or something that want to ruin things for the large majority. What if I told you that it's actually the other way around? People who just cheer at and nod off shit like "Ties That Bind" ruin things for the people who actually want a good game and not just one that says "The Walking Dead" on the front and contains "muh Clementine".

Job made a statement that we're a minority? I can hardly blame him. You have a point that I can't relate to people who were disappointed by ANF, since I haven't played the second episode yet. Trying to find reasonable ideas that could indefinitely work for TTG's circumstances is like finding diamonds in the rough. As I've said before, I'd love to see them gauge the mindsets of players and act accordingly, but even then many a user's two cents tend to seem a bit more than unreasonable. I see more people on either side of the spectrum- the players who are okay with it not speaking up to the cynics hating on it because it's popular to do so- than I see critics in the middle who can appreciate the game for what it is but still give good feedback. "My view of people" is the majority being individuals who won't stop dancing on a yet unfilled grave, with an epitaph already carved with the words "Here lies Tell Tale Games: 2012-2014". Yes, I'm exaggerating, because frustration gives people the tendency to blow things out of proportion.

  • My hope is season 3 is the final one and Clem gets put into the comics as a background character or something.

If all we do is criticize Telltale, they're only going to get worse. All of this could've been avoided- or at least most of it could have been avoided- if fans would understand that they don't really know what they want. Telltale has been repeating the same mistakes from S2 but worse because their management is trying to function like a TV channel rather than a games-making company- they've been pumping out more games in the space of a few years than many game studios make in a lifetime. I honestly don't get what all the fuss is about in regards to TWAU S2, so sue me if I don't understand why players can't stop groaning with bitterness every single time TTG announces a new series that isn't their precious noire fairy tale. Call me insensitive, but I'd rather see TTG become as close to perfect as they can manage at what they're doing before trying to live up to the insurmountable pedestal fans seem to place the guy with glamour.

You lot were asking for a self-fulfilling prophecy with your kind of feedback. What did you want in ANF, exactly, besides the usual "not what we wound up getting"? Any ideas to share besides giving up and selling the series off to NaughtyDog?

  • If they listen to the fanbase we would have 99% of the characters LGBT, Lee magically alive, Luke x Clem, Kenny becomes the messiah and Jane is taken by demons to hell...

I am not sure if this fanbase is worth listening.

  • You know what I mean. All the criticism they have gotten for this game, such as more character development needed so we can actually get to KNOW the characters and once they die we will FEEL something (S1 did this perfectly). Criticism like that is what I mean they should listen to, obviously not your suggestions.

  • What is it with you and TWAU S2? We're not talking about TWAU S2 specifically. Did you even see the amount of constructive criticism ANF has gotten when Ep1 and 2 (technically 1 episode) were released?

  • A few examples:

    • Do not kill Kenny and Jane immediately when S3 begins.
    • More hubs with conversations so we can get to know the characters and actually care about them.

Do you even know how many times they have lied to us pre-release to get us to buy the fucking game?

  • Oh please, al the criticism they got was because Clem is barely playable, though the lie about splitting in to was the cherry to the cake, people really disliked the game because they want a 100% Clemen-time.
They are not going to make another Season 2 with magical Clementine being stronger than grown up adults for "the sake of the plot".

  • Pff most of the complaints were ridiculous

    • Boo hoo, they killed Kenny, how dare they kill my favorite character! how dare someone die in a game full of dead people to shape Clementine story!
    • Boo hoo, how dare they kill Mariana, she is way cute than Gabe, even though she is a rip off from Clementine in Season 1
    • Boo hoo, I hate Javi, he reminds me to the guy who used to beat me in high school

I assume you weren't here when Ep1 and 2 were released then...
