    I think Hector was their uncle but I don't know. It's more than likely that he's dead, not sure why he wasn't mentioned. I think we'll eventually get a flashback that details his fate though.

    Didn't they show his bitemark in episode 1, when they drive away to the hospital? Or am I mixing him up with someone else?

    Dead characters get easily forgotten in this series. Seems to be an ongoing problem.
